  1. 10% or 3000 for league games. (club can give more like wigan and blackburn) 15% for cup games. (again, club can give more)
  2. there was something on the wolves site last year explaining why sometimes the ground would not be full to listed capacity even if all tickets had been sold. clubs whose fans are known persistent standers can take the full allocation in the SBL but will only be given around 2500 with the back row (or back two rows as it was last season, i believe (couldn't go this season)) and the aisle seats not available for sale. this has happened to stoke and villa so far this season. clubs whose fans do not persistently stand but want the full allocation in the SBL get 2800+ as they're not forced by the football licensing authority and local authority to cut it. and i imagine keeping those in the executive boxes happy comes into it as well. clubs who want a lesser allocation (newcastle the other week) are housed in the jack harris. i think that's the crux of it.
  3. you don't seriously think that back row is left unsold because they throw and spit, do you? i know we refer to them as dingles but i'm sure even they could manage to throw something further than just the back row of the away section.
  4. i went, despite it being my last student night out in shrewsbury before uni tomorrow. listened to redscouse getting knocked out on the way back and was at the bar by quarter to eleven. great laugh watching heskey perform miracles and houllier and the 'wave' incident. and still in tact is three years without missing a game at home, in all competitions.
  5. our fans really are a joke. should be selling this out with ease. seriously, what is wrong with people? this is aston villa football club we're talking about, we should be taking big numbers everywhere, let alone a short trip up the m6. it feels like we've just lost thousands of fans at the start of this season. i'll be at stoke tomorrow, i'll be at spurs in october, i'd have been at wolves at the end of the month but for getting set up at uni, and i'll be at numerous more over the course of the season. i couldn't think of anything better to do than follow villa around the country whether things are rosy or not so rosy, at the club. support the lads!
  6. always loads of room in the car parks behind the away end which are a ten minute tops walk from our turnstyles. could turn up five minutes to kick off and still find a space. some of the best parking in the league actually. but then again, we may have just been lucky every single time.
  7. king george v, lots of villa in there last time. and that's where i'll be. to quote football ground guide..
  8. king george v, lots of villa in there last time. and that's where i'll be. to quote football ground guide..
  9. clicky the above is the fxpro villa sponsorship page. you can see ashley young on the left but in the kit from last year and if you press gallery you'll see milner in the black away top but with last season's shorts and socks on and the fxpro logo poorly photoshopped on with no tagline. much the same with ashley young who is featured wearing the shirt from last season with the chequers photoshopped in as well as fxpro, again without the tagline, and the same shorts and socks as jimmy. confused much?!
  10. a common misconception. it is not against the law to stand at a premier league or football league stadium. -------- the above shows a statement by aston villa football club taken from 2005 after the guardian asked all premiership (now premier league) clubs if they would like to introduce safe standing areas. it would be interesting to see the response if the guardian were to ask this again. i'd hope that villa would respond like five years previous, rather than choosing to ignore the debate like eleven other clubs did. general, am i right in saying there's a standing/singing area at the cleveland browns' stadium? the north stand, is it? if i remember correctly there are signs saying that people may stand and sing but not use profantities. may be barking up the wrong tree though.
  11. what pubs are people going to on the saturday night?
  12. i think they wipe the slate clean in the new year. might be wrong though.
  13. eight bells is the traditional one, yes. there's loads of others around the ground that villa go in though. the king's arms was full of villa for the game in may, there was another across the road, temperance(?), that i think had villa in, the golden lion(?) next door and the duke's head across the bridge. eight bells was absolutely packed. think of the fernhurst on a slightly smaller scale. if you want somewhere with a bit more class and somewhere you'll actually get served, i'd go in the king's arms! five minutes closer to the ground too.
  14. [pedant]or even bolton and preston[/pedant] :winkold: exactly my thoughts. these two games were a bit of respite for my first week back at college whilst the rest of the country (don't live in brum) seemingly had a fun week in the snow. the whole situation is a joke. what happened to contingency plans, eh? if it broke at 5pm where was the tent and the heated blowers?! surely if they didn't already have some they could've got them relatively quickly and we'd all be on the way to the game now!
  15. two or three inches according to the bloke reporting from ewood on ssn. if i wasn't so annoyed, it'd be laughable.
  16. hilarious how SSN keep going on about the time added on at the end of the first half but fail to mention reina kicking the ball away. :?
  17. why? just why? i'm yet to see him make a joke that doesn't refer to the daily express/mail in regard to immigrants. seems like a right clearing in the woods with his head permanently positioned up his communist arse..
  18. well you've certainly succeeded in using the largest number of incorrect who's/whose in one post.
  19. general, were you outside the david targett suite at all on witton lane yesterday before the game? this bloke in a villa suit looked just like you but didn't look like you if you know what i mean!!!? and, half way through (i think) last season there was an article on the official site saying that the witton railway bridge would be re painted claret and blue as it's all looking quite poor now. there was even an artist's impression on the o/s. having seen it yesterday, it still hadn't been done. i was wondering if maybe the club had forgotten?
