  1. purely because there was no roof to the standing area. hence, poor acoustics..
  2. fan of cyndi lauper and tiffany, are we...?! :winkold:
  3. you'll get a ticket with ease. played them pretty much the same time last season and there were a couple of hundred empty seats in the away end. and this time, the price is even higher, now breaking the 50 barrier which may put a lot of people off. you won't have a problem.
  4. there's a large car park at cheshunt railway station, open 24 hours. used it last season for the saturday 3pm game and it was perfect. you'll be on the train with a few spurs fans, not as many as you might think, and they've never struck me as being the most intimidating folk so colours should be ok. my old man was wearing his villa hat!! make sure you head for the haringey irish centre from WHL station. let's get a few more villa in there this year. :winkold:
  5. at least there's no shops on the walk down tottenham high road any more, where hooded youth can hang around outside of. edit for what i posted: actually getting the tube to seven sisters, then the train to white hart lane. quicker and easier to do that than liverpool street. zone 1-3 travelcard, £5.30 with a 18-25 railcard.
  6. park at cheshunt, get the train to white hart lane. trains run every half hour there and back.
  7. someone said on H&V that as of wednesday last week, there were 330 tickets left to sell. just about manage it, do you reckon?
  8. st pancras is right next to king's cross (they're practically the same station and are referred to as one) and 5-10 minutes' walk from euston. i arrive into st pancras at 18:19 and from memory after having looked the other week, i'm then either going tube from king's cross to liverpool street then overground train to white hart lane. or getting a tube from king's cross to seven sisters and walking about 20-30 minutes to the ground. probably do the former.
  9. £17.50 for me. nice and cheap. we should sell this out with ease. and we're usually good at taking full allocations to newly promoted clubs.
  10. they'll still sit down for ninety minutes in silence like they do at every away game! woeful support.
  11. Don't know. Says still on sale on Villa web-site. How many went to Everton? 1850. which was an initial allocation, like citeh.
  12. they are if you take into account the numerous errors they make, rather than just basing it on the above errors. every couple of away games they make themselves look as if they haven't a clue about how to sell tickets to a football match. it all builds up. and people get frustrated. they were totally clueless about how many we were taking to west ham last season. they told us 2900, but when counting it up in the ticket office came to the figure 2200, yet still told us we'd taken the 2900 allocation and that's how it stayed on the website. and presumably in the programme. it was only until the day of the game when it became clear that we infact did only have the 2200 allocation. arsenal was similar. 2200 was printed in the programme time and time again but it turned out we had taken, and sold, the usual 2900 allocation. the number of mistakes they make is astounding. is it really that difficult to double check? and that's the website and the programme as a whole, i'm constantly reading typos or sentences that just plain don't make any sense. -------------------------- wedge, out of interest, why do you say it's a good day out? where do you drink when you go up there? we've never really been able to pin down an away pub. although we've drank a couple of times in a sunderland pub, a 'spoons, and they've been friendly enough. but would prefer to be with lots of villa for obvious reasons.
  13. yep, i tweeted paul brown and avfcofficial last night and in fairness it was a matter of minutes before it was changed. still got the wrong allocation though!!
  14. they really are **** useless, our ticket office. i've just looked at the latest 'updated' ticket news and this is what's shown... http://bit.ly/qY9TPh so for a minute i was outraged at sunderland in thinking that the ticket price had shot up from a mere £27 in '09, to £28 in '10 to a whopping £40 in '11. anyone who goes searching for ticket news will see that price and think 'blimey, i'm not going to sunderland then'. i only found the correct price by having a look on here and on the ticketmaster site. they've also listed the allocation as 1700, rather than 2000. talk about shooting yourselves in the foot and making it even more difficult to sell tickets. sort it out you useless clearings in the woods.
  15. indeed; something that i've had to explain to newcastle fans on numerous occassions. they don't seem to understand, or rather make themselves blind to the fact that, prior to the match everybody was praying and relying on us to do the job and send them down. the reaction to the relegation at villa park would have been mirrored in living rooms and football stadia across the country. and yet they're still so far up their own arses they don't realise any of this, it's just 'big bad villa, let's try and create a rivalry with them'. i also got lots of texts at the final whistle from opposing fans.
  16. it was disappointing, but give me 1850 villa fans standing and singing over 3000, or indeed 30,000 everton fans all sat in silence, occassionally standing up for a corner and singing one of their three songs; two of which are just different variations of the word 'everton'. the loudest noise when we visit goodison every season, aside from the villa fans, is 'handball' and the constant high pitched squeals when an opposing player has the audacity to make a challenge on one of your own..
  17. oh look, more portsmouth fans at the boleyn than there were villa at goodison. shit support, my lord...
  18. how shit were the wolves fans?! not even close to selling out the past three seasons at vp and don't sing whatsoever during the course of the game. they sang at the final whistle though after the villa fans had left...about the villa...and celebrated as if they'd actually won the league. embarrassing tinpot club.
  19. haha was that jonathan hogg having a wank?! they zoomed in on his crotch!
  20. http://www.avfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10265~2398324,00.html see bolded. **** useless. is it really that difficult for those in charge of the website (paul brown and the like) to communicate with those in the ticket office? correct me if i'm wrong, but they work in the same **** building don't they? every single time we're all left wondering how many tickets we actually have. what a load of shit. i'm sure we have got the usual 2900 as we always take thousands down there but still....
  21. couldn't agree more. i'm finding it quite amusing how the sky sports fans on here and indeed the neutrals, are falling for all the media spin. the impatient fans and media hate the fact that villa go about their business quietly and professionally and they hate the fact that we're being as thorough as we are. the media want the manager and the story yesterday. the fans want the manager and the exotically named players yesterday. that's today's society for you. personally, i think lerner's a genius, knows exactly what he is doing, and we may find in the end that randy has actually deflected it all brilliantly and gets the man that he wants, having exhausted all other potential avenus, to push the club forward..
  22. was the tattoo on his ankle? if so, this might hold some weight..
  23. well no, it proves that you're getting in a right tangle. he gave a corner, not a goal kick as you previously stated. do you even remember the incident?
  24. this annoyed me. funny how they failed to mention the 80 (no, that aint a typo) they took to sunderland in the league cup last season, the 300 to west ham, the failure to sell the normal league allocation of 2900 at west ham for a league cup semi, the 500 to blackpool, the 600 to millwall, the 800 to chelsea, their failure to sell the initial allocation at anfield the other week when they were deep in a relegation battle on a saturday at 3 o'clock. or indeed wembley tickets being hours from general sale. their support, or lack of it, is a joke. their fans will be able to share the same jet as the players for their one european away game.
  25. me and the old man (who didn't tell me to be a city fan thank christ) had a full league table with us so we were working it all out throughout the game. at half time with wolves 3-0 down we said they needed to get a couple of goals back. we knew before the game about the lack of goals sha had scored so we were celebrating when hunt scored even though it was still 1-1 at whl. would've been quite hilarious had they have down due to a lack of goals given that they were top of the long ball league a couple of months back. that's 60 premier league games now where they've failed to score more than two goals in a game. it'd be interesting to see how many times they've scored more than one!
