  1. they get incredible support away from home and were backed from first minute to last against arsenal on sunday, as they are every other week at grounds across the country. they know what the club means to us and don't need to see us sticking around after the final whistle. this season has been an abomination and a lot of the players have disgraced themselves on numerous occassions throughout the past year. clark, downing, albrighton, bent and the very few who've done very well for us and indeed been professional, will already realise how much we support and back them; they've received songs, warm applause from the holte as they've been warming up and been voted to receive various awards from the villa faithful. the rest of em, the rocket polishers, can **** off.
  2. wasn't sure where to put this but i've just figured out who the 'famous' person was that was on my train from derby to crewe before the blackpool game in february. paul hayward, writer for the guardian/observer and one of the four rocket polishers who did that sunday supplement after MON left and slated the club, along with oliver holt and a couple of others. if only i'd realised at the time..
  3. I can now afford a season ticket for next year, get the **** in! Still can't believe it. £230 that's the one annoying thing from today! when i saw you'd said that i was going to do it myself but in the end didn't have time to create an account! but yeah, what a day. voice completely gone, can finally stop shaking and worrying about relegation!!
  4. why would we sing a song against liverpool that is synonymous with their istanbul '05 5th..?
  5. according to the programme we've only taken 2200. so are they **** up again like they did with west ham? i.e. saying we'd taken and sold 2900 and there actually only being 2200 at the game?
  6. 1. His **** shit cap. 2. The football is the worst the Premiership has seen. 3. He **** moans, moans, moans, moans about not getting decisons. Never mentions decisions he does get, see Pennant against us. 4. His really shit cap. 5. his annoying voice. 6. his trackie b's and big trainers. 7. his hero status amongst stoke fans. 8. his shit name. 9. people calling him 'tp'. 10. the disrespect he showed to his mother to get to the brit and manage the team against villa in september. 11. his god awful cap. can't stand him. and i hear the tinpot stoke outfit will be bringing very few to villa park tomorrow. let's beat them and hope they go down. get them back to the 14,000 crowds they were used to before the whole of stoke-on-trent jumped on the premier league (and wembley..) bandwagon..
  7. The Stig at Boro was absolutely class!
  8. there was a little confusion in our ticket thread. i'm doubting that we have got the 2900 allocation and instead took the 2200 one.
  9. 2200? really? it definitely said 2900 on the website and on the first page of this thread it's quoted as 2900??
  10. what time will you be in london? only 15 quid for a single for me down to st pancras. had decided to go to new st and get a lift to make it cheaper and get dad to pay for tube and that but given we've sold out i want to make a day of it. and you know how he'll probably want to arrive late as always. i'd rather go straight to the central though what with all the travel problems. can enjoy a few pints in the sunshine as well as i'm guessing the flying scotsman has blacked out windows!! yeah i can imagine it being a bit more tense both inside and outside this time around. but then there'll be plenty of villa fans about and when we take full allocations to places we usually take over completely so i can't see it being too intimidating. no worries mate, enjoy!
  11. barking road, very close to the ground - few minutes' walk if i remember rightly. lots of little typical cockney cafes and eateries on the same street as well as cashpoints, a dominos and various other shops. busy road, the inside and outside of the pub will be packed what with 3000 of us heading down. hopefully it's just as hot as it was for mellberg's last away game. will be a brilliant day (prior to the game anyway!!) edit: having just looked on google maps to jog my memory, probably more of a 5-10 minute walk but it's just an easy straight shot down barking road then the priory road to the away end. can't miss it as you can see the ground above the buildings and there will be a stream of thousands of villa and west ham fans in that area and heading that way. there were loads of police last time as well but it was very much a relaxed end of season type atmosphere outside the ground.
  12. cracking following!!!!! really pleased about that, was worried no one was going with the lack of posts on here! so that's full allocations to bolton, everton (pretty much sold out didn't it?), west ham, baggies and we should take and sell the full allocation for arsenal despite having just the initial atm. brilliant. numbers have improved a lot lately after poor followings over the christmas period.
  13. absolute joke. arguably more blatant than the one in the blackpool game.
  14. ^^ haha thanks for the advice mate. going to it from nottingham so looks like it's going to be a mish mash of train/tube/bus/walk. nightmare.
  15. come on ag, you've got form for it. it's a case of 'which is worse?' really, isn't it? your home support, or your away support which mirrors home in that everyone sits down in silence and then maybe gives it an 'everton' or perhaps even a 'grand old team' upon winning a corner or scoring a goal. at least at vp you've got the couple of thousand at the back of the holte who stand all game every game and support the team. but naturally, being so far from the away fans and with such awful acoustics, you won't hear them unless everybody joins in. see stretford end tier 2 and the back of the kop to support that. what you say's right though, the atmosphere at all (i include stoke in this) premier league grounds is poor but from experience, and from chatting to opposing fans who follow their teams away from home, goodison park for the kind of club you are and old stands fantastic for acoustics and for noise to travel, you're easily at the bottom of the pecking order. as i've alluded to there and as i've always said, for a club with such a brilliant history and tradition and a club that i admire, the support is dreadful. absolutely woeful, vocally. a simple 'lol' response to VAL on his statement that you only have one song? let's be honest, he's not far off, is he? and i suspect you're well aware of that. certainly every time i've been it seems you have two variations of 'everton', 'grand old team' (though that wasn't sung on saturday) and as i think someone suggested before the match, perhaps 'handball' or that classic high pitched squeal whenever anything mildly contentious happens or an opposing player has the audacity to attempt to challenge an everton player, could be made into into club anthems? we're always excellent at goodison, whether there's 1800 of us or 2700. and everton friends and forums have in the past confirmed that. as i've always said, give me a few hundred villa standing and singing over 3000 everton sat in silence for the entirety.
  16. very true. make that four. from experience everton and hull are the worst for it but everton truly take the biscuit.
  17. Uploaded with ImageShack.us if he questions the above, tell him to **** off the fat word removed..
  18. quite ironic given they only have three songs; two of which are just different variations of 'everton'. nor do they sing them, either...
  19. yesterday there were due to be just 406 empty seats in the trinity by my calculations. today, i've just worked out there will be 703 empty seats. i don't think the ticket site works.
  20. all bounce if you love villa??? looked quality at the sty, was brilliant at blackpool and was ok but never really took off at the reebok. a whole away end doing that please.
  21. what confuses me is that the fans in that corner by the away fans purchase a ticket and then spend 90 minutes facing the away fans singing about manchester united. why spend all that money and not watch a single minute of the action? if you're that obsessed with them, but don't particularly like watching football, go in the stretford end and turn your back to the game..
  22. the bromilow is home fans i think yeah, but some from h&v will be going in there. can't imagine any of them will be wearing any colours though so it's probably not the kind of pub we'd get the run of a la fernhurst/beehive/robin/the whole area of fulham! apparently the barnstormers on lockstock lane will allow away fans. can't say i know any more than that.
