  1. Guzan's job instantly in jeopardy after that picture.
  2. so, about this Grealish kid...... what do you think anyone would pay for him in the window?
  3. negativity of fans becomes just as much habit as negativity in tactics, players and managers.
  4. I'd be happy to sell him if anybody would give anything for him. Bags of potential but no end product and no work ethic . If you think he's great, what do you think we could get for him?
  5. Watford is important. Every match is now, but Watford being not exactly Big Sky and the timing after the Everton mess make Watford even bigger. When Remi came I was hoping for 4 points from the first three matches. Pretty rediculous to have hoped for more. So a win and we're right on track. A draw and we're still better than I expected from Sherwood.
  6. Seriously?!? I've seen VT scapegoat players much worse than this. Like most of the others, this one is a bit less than half earned.
  7. with all respect to you as a human being. I just simply could not disagree more with this comment.
  8. I think the talent and skills of Grealish are obvious. What I'm not seeing is impact. All the talent and skill in the world is very attractive. It just needs to produce a result. Otherwise it's just art. Sorry but in sport, outside gymnastics, no points are given for art. I actually found myself annoyed at the bejeweled backpack he carried into Everton. It reminded me of what frustrates me about him. He's all attractive art. We need somebody to frequently create scoring chances, frequently score goals, and frequently frustrate an opponent trying to do the same. THAT's what Jack isn't doing.
  9. Good post, defined by the fact that I agree with every word. The one shot he took on Saturday right footed was too central but it had to scare Tim Howard it was moving and jumping in the air. He used to be a decent, pacey, left winger with a wicked shot. Those days are gone. For him and for me... but for me they never happened. :)
  10. -------------------Guzan----------------- Hutton Richards Clark Crespo Sanchez Bacuna Gil Gana Ayew Gestede
  11. Westwood has had plenty of time to develop in this league, Veretout has not. To me, Veretout shows effort and intelligence, what he lacks is quickness of thought and feet. Some develop it when challenged at the higher speed of play. Some don't. Time will tell but if I were a betting man I'd put money on Veretout.
  12. Bollocks, Crowd turning on players will be a good thing. Utter tosh. I understand the frustration behind it, mind, but the conclusion is foolishness.
  13. not the line-up I was expecting. I think Remi is thinking more offensively than I would expect we are ready for. It would be lovely if he's right.
  14. Can you provide that refresher on what "on another day" means, on another day?
  15. I agree that Hutton is a better defender than Bacuna, but I'm afraid that says something really, really bad about Bacuna. Hutton cannot seem to mark runners on the weak side.
  16. Even in the directors room you can have alcohol in the room, but you cannot carry a cup out into the stadium seats. It doesn't matter what's in the cup because "others can't know what it is you are drinking."
  17. I thought Sherwood taught us to quit trying to play with Round pegs.
  18. I remember a few years back when Kieren cut intside from the left and waltzed through our midfield and created dangerous attacks (at least one goal if I recall correctly). What happened to him other than age and haircut? He hasn't shown anything like that playing for us.
  19. The question about why and how he keeps finding acres of space is what I was trying to ask several pages back. If anyone has a moderately intelligent reply I would like to see it.
  20. actually, IMO the best action for Gestede would have been to stand on one leg like a stork and throw it. City gets a throw in deep in their own end. Seen it done several times and it seems very intelligent to me. You're giving them possession, but not a great advantage
  21. What's not true about Sherwood started Richardson ahead of Amavi?
  22. Actually, John is right. He was absolutely pulled back by his right arm to permit the cover to arrive first.
  23. one complaint and one question. Hutton must stop letting runners come around him and especially inside (goalside) when he's on the weak side. Most obvious example, Sterling's open header. This time Brad positioned himself well and got lucky, but far too many times Hutton is letting the weakside support go right past him and it has cost us more than once. He MUST stop this! Or he needs to be benched. (sorry) At the other end, I can't ever remember a full back from any Premier League team being consistently that wide open on the flank in the attacking half. It seems Alan spends an inordinate amount of time with acres of space on the wing. I'm trying to figure out why. It almost seems like teams are packing our left side and middle and leaving him with 1/4 of the field to himself. Do they trust they can close him down quickly enough? It seems to be working. He either takes it deep and puts in a poor cross or passes it backward to a midfielder most of the time. A few seasons ago, several times he shifted the ball to his left and made a direct inside run straight to the penalty area and put a driving shot into the keeper. Scored at least one if I recall correctly. It's in his wheelhouse, he needs to do that more. He needs to make them pay for conceding that much space on the flank. They would be forced to spread the back line and mid-field more. It will open up the field for our attack.
