  1. Completely agree with this. A pretty reasonable video if people actually watch it. The fact that he's guaranteeing people that they can get their job back if they take short term employment in supermarkets seems a good idea and acknowledges the fact that the supermarkets will need people to take up the additional positions available. Not really sure what else he could do at present to be honest.
  2. Its nothing to do with the fact that its Liverpool or United. As has been said previously, I don't think there's anybody in the world who would have an issue with Liverpool being given the title if no more football was played (other than people showing their bias). If any team was 25 points ahead with 9/10 games to go I'd like to think awarding the title was a fairly easy common sense decision. The real issue is with the relegation places and next year's European places - that's more difficult to make any decision on given the number of teams involved in the chase for both of these.
  3. Firstly, spell his name right - it’s shorter than what you’re actually writing. Secondly, what on earth is he supposed to do. The couple of times he’s brought the ball down there’s three defenders and no villa player within 30 yards of him? Really weird criticism after the shower of shite that the rest of the team have produced in that half.
  4. Didn’t do much wrong but it’s Neil Taylor so he can’t win with most.
  5. Couldn’t agree more with this. Worst song that I’ve heard sang by a large number at villa park in all the years I’ve been going. It seems a lot of people just don’t get what is and isn’t acceptable.
  6. The biggest bottler I’ve ever seen at Villa. I don’t think he’s very good at all and he certainly doesn’t seem to be the sort of character needed in any squad, particularly one battling relegation.
  7. We look like a team going down. Too much work needed in the summer I think.
  8. This is a bit random. Any evidence for this or just made up speculation?
  9. I mean the pass from McGinn made it into more of a 70-30 in favour of the defender but let's ignore that. Given that he was also on the edge of the Wolves back it just seems like its his luck for a goal to come from it. The goal was 100% not his fault but people will see what they want to see.
  10. I'm starting to think Taylor might be the unluckiest player I've seen at Villa. He's trying to get forward to support an attack and McGinn plays the worst pass to him which leads to a goal and you can guarantee Taylor will be the one taking the stick from the fans. I actually thought he had a decent half especially in comparison to Targett in the first half but that doesn't fit the narrative I suppose.
  11. That pass from McGinn was so bad. Not much chance of stopping Traore after that.
  12. I just don't think he's anywhere near good enough. I'm not sure he'd be good enough if we were still in the Championship. He has no quality on the ball at all.
  13. I do feel a bit sorry for El Ghazi. He has to do the work of three forwards on his own and even if he beats two or three defenders the other two aren't an option for him.
  14. I know we only have one sub left but I'd be seriously tempted to take Trezeguet off. He's offering nothing going forward and doesn't even try to track back. Its like playing with ten men.
  15. Why did it take us 45 minutes to get into the game. Vast improvement so far this half.
  16. That was great defending by Taylor. Not sure he's gonna fare much better than Targett though if he's continually left 2-vs-1 by Trezeguet's lack of tracking back.
  17. Nuno has done a hell of a job coaching Traore. He has serious potential if his end product continues to improve.
  18. I don't think Taylor is in the squad to smash in 20 yard volleys. Does anyone think any of our players would hit the target from that position?
  19. I think this is one of the few times where a lot of the reaction is perhaps justified. We only have Grealish missing from out starting line up in midfield and attack and we genuinely have struggled to put more than 2 passes together at a time. Yes we have injuries and yes we have a worse team on paper than Wolves but you'd expect us to be vaguely competitive rather than looking like a mid table Championship side against Manchester City!
  20. Shocking half and we can't even make a change now given the run of injuries we're suffering. Would be nice to actually get a few minutes of control of the ball but that's wishful thinking!
  21. Yeah the other issue is if he ran the 20 yards to get to our aimless hoofs every time then he'd be dead on his feet by about the 20th minute of the game.
  22. Wesley is getting a lot of stick on here because we're firing balls up nowhere near him and there's absolutely nobody supporting him. I genuinely don't know what our game plan is here to be honest. The midfield hasn't touched the ball at all.
  23. Transport is the main issue for me too. Whenever I get the train to Villa Park it always results in walking back to the City centre after the match as the queues for the train are ridiculous. It shouldn't be that difficult to put on enough trains to get people back to Birmingham after the game and we should be making it easier for people to get public transport to and from the ground to cut down on the number of people driving.
  24. Mings has really thrown Taylor under the bus today. He's made a horrendous mistake but as Taylor was in the vicinity there's no prize for guessing who'll take the brunt of the criticism. I thought he was fine - he had no help from El Ghazi again. I really think there's far more issues in the squad than Neil Taylor.
  25. I think this will be the defining post of the first half of this season. Everyone looked knackered and the options from the bench are frighteningly limited. I'm not sure we'll get much more out of the squad we've assembled here. They work hard and then tire after 60 minutes but the quality isn't even there in the first place. If we're bringing on players like Lansbury and Davis who I'm not convinced were even good enough for the Championship then it's looking pretty desperate.
