  1. Still not his biggest fan just because of him being so tactically inept. Saying that yesterday I feel he got the tactics right, but got the Gabby sub wrong. Holt should only come on if he is a direct replacement for Benteke, or if we play two up top, and are sending crosses in from the wings. He has to deal with cost cutting measures, and I don't envy that, but he bought into it when he signed up. The teams showed yesterday we can keep possession against a good side, and put them under pressure. Let's see if the team can keep it up, and he might be able to sway me.
  2. https://vine.co/v/hlvEJ12Hvw3 The dive doesn't get any better the more you watch it.
  3. Great first half, but as many as said Gabby's injured took away our attacking threat. Holt did okay, but felt Albrighton would have been better coming on. Holt didn't have the legs to chase back, so Lambert had to pull Benteke to the left. Defense looked better, but looked very suspect when Luna came on. Very happy with a point, but sad about the dive. Ref got it wrong, but we would have probably said a pen if one of our players had gone down like that. Lambert got his tactics right today, and I haven't said that much this season. Well done one and all.
  4. A good season at Huddersfield, and maybe we can swap him for Bowery.
  5. Would the "Ice man" be the player who scored a hat-trick today?
  6. Awesome work! Very talented, and there's me having trouble drawing stick men.
  7. So you said yourself like Sunderland ... ie, our last Premier League game. We do it away but not at home... again, you said yourself break quickly ... easy away, hard at home which more to do with teams sitting back more at VP, the players being on edge more at VP and us not having a truly creative player, I'm not disputing your coaching badges or abilities but I'm sure anything you have done and seen Paul Lambert has also. I just don't think it is as easy as half the people on here think it would be to sort out. I'm not backing Lambert with blind faith, I just think he deserves longer in the job to try and resolve the issues that we have. If we are playing the same way next season with the same results I'll join the anti-Lambert brigade on here, but right now that is far to premature IMO. Not saying he has an easy job, but he isn't trying anything different against teams at home. Yes, teams do sit back against us at home, and that's where it becomes a game of patience. If all of our players are told when we lose the ball everyone drop back to the half way line. Over the 90 minutes the opposition will start pushing up, and using the space we are conceding. This is the time where the tactics come into our favor. It will give us more space in behind them for our faster players to run into. Sadly, we stick one up down the middle, and lump it up to him. The opposition know they will pick up the lose ball, because there is no one around to support Benteke, or Kozak. They don't even have to try, and win possession in our half, because they know we will give it them back in a 30 seconds, or so. He needs to try something different, and he needs to do it quick. We are abysmal at home, and he should be sacked on those stats alone. I do want him gone, but I also agree I'm not sure if we will find anyone better mid-season. There will be plenty of managers available after the World Cup, so maybe that's when he will be gone.
  8. This problem was apparent during the last window. He signed 7 players and sold 8! Lambert hasn't got the PLAYERS to break down a team that sits back. If we have the same problem next season then it is a serious issue. Right now Lambert deserves the time to try to correct this. He isn't going to when he doesn't bother to sign any. I disagree with the fact he doesn't have the players, and more the fact he doesn't know how to use them. There are a number of different tactics he could use, but he is either too stubborn, or unwilling to change. Enlighten us as to how to do this? I could send you a number of pattern's of play I have on my computer, that I believe would help us with the present players we have. Mine though would require Lambert letting the players try, and pass the ball around, and not just lump it up field to Benteke. In the end though it's about being patient, and giving up ground. Drawing teams into our half field, breaking quickly with short sharp passing. The players are capable of doing this as they showed against Sunderland, but it's doesn't seem to me Lambert encourages it. Lambert, as I have gone through UEFA coaching licenses, and if he paid attention they go through many 11v11 practices, with triggers in them, that release players into certain areas. Lambert from what I have seen wishes to focus on the big man up front. The standard lump up field isn't working, and he needs to go back to his coaching manual, and see what he needs to improve it.

  10. Shame Ki is on nfrom Swansea at Sunderland, because I really like him, and seems to be having a strong season in a poor team.
  11. @Imarsha_926 It's down to tactics. Lambert hasn't got a clue how to break down a team that sits back, and parks the bus, He talks about the lack of creativity in the teams, and sadly it's starts inside his head.
  12. Baker had hamstring issue. Seems it was the same reason didn't play.
  13. http://tinyurl.com/klsgkml Interesting listen, but sadly still defiant.
  14. Joint top in Premiership when it comes to chances/goals scored. 44% success rate, so it seems if he might be missed.
  15. Watching Rochdale vs Leeds on T.V., and their players have better ability than our players.
  16. I wonder if Lambert has the Villa Talk app, so he can keep up.
  17. So what happened with HH? Did someone find him out? Shame, was fun reading his posts, when I woke up in the morning. I see Swansea are going after Ince. We should at least throw our hat in the ring, but I guess wages maybe too high for us.
  18. This pretty much sums up how I feel. Which is just as well cos I really couldn't be bothered to type it. On the other hand its our only chance of silverware this season. How many points might be enough to stay up. 38? It still gives us a chance in Europe right? Not defended Lambert lately, but it seems obvious his comments were taken out of context. I'm sure he would be jubilant if we win the cup, but we have a big enough struggle in the league. We need to improve and league performance, but silverware would be an added bonus. Just play the Next Gen boys, because they know how to win a trophy.
  19. Not sure how Dann is playing, but I read Palace are looking at him. Is he worth getting if the price is low enough?
