  1. That doesn't make sense. If we finish with less points than last season but still further away from the relegation zone, then that only proves that the teams around us have regressed. Only a total irrational would claim that a season in which the team collects less points than the last constitutes any form of progress. I've been through this already before - the barometer of progress should always be league position. If we finish say, 3 places higher this season then it means we've been able to do better relative to the teams around us. Points are just a way of measuring success in a league - what counts is where you finish. If we finish around where we finished last season then I will hold my hands up and say there's been little progression. It's not irrational at all. It says we improved our position. It doesn't say if that's due to us improving, or teams getting worse. Looking at the points tally that will keep teams up this year I would say it's the later.
  2. No they don't. Stats don't always show when a team has come out with a specific gameplan and it has worked (e.g. at Southampton). If it's a game plan to not create chance then Lambert is the best. I'mm sure he planned to have 22% of the game and score the only three shots on target. Genius, my bad! I'll leave it at that.
  3. Does he really? Really? He got a leg up in management because he was a former player. Most people involved in football, including managers, who appear on shows in which they claim to 'analyse' matches come across as not particularly knowledgeable or insightful. It'll never happen as there's obviously a huge amount of money at stake but I suspect if you took the average bloke off the street who is a football enthusiast and put him in charge of a midtable Premier League club with a modest budget, they wouldn't do much worse than most of the managers currently in the league. It's jobs for the boys, and even when they fail (repeatedly) they still get top jobs. This is of course going a bit off topic, the point I'm really making is I'm not convinced that Lambert is some sort of oracle with plans beyond the understanding of mere fans just because he's currently got the Villa gig. Totally agree. I went through my UEFA A license, but would never have a chance in the UK. That's why I went to live in the US, so I could still earn a living coaching.
  4. Stats don't tell the full picture. That isn't me saying we were unlucky against Bradford and Millwall by the way, just pointing that out. But still, this insistence that we're lucky when we win and just shit when we lose is biased and clearly serves to back up already existing agendas. Stats do show the whole picture when it comes to creating chances. Most games are won by the teams that make the most chances. Yes there are exceptions, but in reality those stats show how creative and attacking the team is. Throughout most of this season we have been well behind in those stats. Basically, Lambert can't get the player that he bought to perform to a level where we can outplay many of the teams in the league. We have a greater chance against teams higher than us because they expect to beat us. They push forward, and for the best part take us lightly and that's when we get some joy. Teams around us stick to the same game plan and beat us because they are better prepared. That is where Lambert has let us down. He is very low when it comes to tactics, inspiring players, and making subs. How could he put Bowery on today? When was the last time that guy scored at any level? Other managers would have been brave enough to throw the youngster on who is at least scoring goals, and knows where the net is.
  5. How isn't he? Many of our poorer players have raised their game against teams like City, Chelsea and Arsenal. The problem has always been our performances against the lesser sides. Yes we have won those games, but would you say we have deserved to win those games, and we didn't get a big slice of luck? I don't think many of our loses have been to back luck, but bad performances from manager and team. Certainly not all of them. We definitely deserved to beat Chelsea for example. You could also ask the same question about our defeats to lower league opposition. Perhaps there was luck involved there as well? I watched those games and no I didn't see much luck, but teams who deserved to beat us. Ah so when we win we're "lucky" but when we lose we deserve it? That's just double standards. No, not at all. Outplayed by the majority of the teams, and certainly outclassed when it came to creating chances. Look back at those games against lower division teams and see how many chances we had compared to them. Now that ridiculous! Attempts on target Millwall 6 Aston Villa 3 Attempts off target Millwall 6 Aston Villa 1 Villa Sheffield United Shots 9 8 On target 2 5 Attempts on target Bradford 12 Aston Villa 13 Attempts off target Bradford 8 Aston Villa 5 Need I go on? I'll give you we did make a few more chances than Bradford at home, and go on to win a game.

  8. And how much did the managers in lower divisions have to spend when they consistently knock us out of cups? Please don't go on about them being one off, because every game is one off. He can't raise the players he has purchased to put in a performance. The players are constantly flat with one or two exceptions. When was the last time the whole team played at a level we could be proud on? I'm not talking about wins. They are one offs though. Do you honestly think the clubs that knocked us out of the cups could hold their own in the Premier League? Yes because even more negativity and moaning is exactly what VP needs right now. My point is he isn't capable of raising our weaker players (he purchased) against stronger opposition like other managers can. Those managers inspire weaker players to very good performances, but Lambert is incapable of doing it.

  10. Top 10 finish? Just keep your mouth shut and do your job! Woeful manager!
  11. Didn't you say this already? Only about an hour ago? Isn't he allowed to keep the same opinion, or do you expect him to change it? I think it's the fact that he posted the exact same thing twice. What's the point? What's the point in defending him multiple times every day? People do that and they are entitled too just as he can say #lamberkout I haven't seen anyone come in here and post "#LambertIn" and then post the same thing an hour later. It's got nothing to do with the general message (disapproving of Lambert) but rather how its put across. Nobody would be that foolish!

  14. Showed he has no tactical nonce at all again today. After a 4-1 hammering last week he plays the same formation and the same players (baring injury) who looked totally inept. He should have gone 442 and given the defense some protection. Even though Man U are shite this year they are still way better than us. We should of frustrated them, especially after we took the lead. He obviously can't coach a back four as most of our player watch the ball or man instead of watching for danger and covering their area of the pitch. He then takes Albrighton off and leaves Weimann on? Did anyone else see Weimann do anything today? At least Albrighton tried to created something. We won't replace him this season but we seriously need to look at it in the summer. Saying that, if we beat Fulham next week I think we will be safe. Didn't you say this already? Only about an hour ago? Isn't he allowed to keep the same opinion, or do you expect him to change it?
  15. Glad you're happy with us not getting relegated. Some of us expect our manager to do his job he is paid for. He just isn"t good enough and needs to go. Only reason we are we are in the league has been down to lucky. We have abysmal all season and go some lucky decision and bounces against the big teams. We should of beat them today but he hasn't got a clue how to send a team out with a positive mindset and keep it.
  16. No, we've been lucky there have been worse managers and teams than ours. Just because we are standing in shit we shouldn't be looking to smell the roses. We have a few really good performances under him. The rest have been let's bore the opposition into defeat which has worked at times. For me he isn't good enough, shame really I had high hopes when he came in.
  17. Scored a real nice goal and decided the game was over. Getting what we deserve for sitting back and comedy defending. I'm a Baker supporter but he's been at fault for all three goals. Time for Lambert to earn his money.
  18. Still don't care if he is here at the start of next season, but he did get it right today.
  19. After going through my UEFA licenses and speaking to professional managers it's about 2-3 months. If you have the right players to play a new system in 2-3 months is a different matter.
  20. I don't think the majority of the fans are booing the players, just the manager. The problem is the players are going to hearing it. Maybe a Lambert Out would be better than booing.
  21. So was it Lambert's fault that we started rubbish but then the credit goes to the players and not Lambert for the result? What tactical genius did Lambert do to change the game? All I saw was the players having a go at the opposition. Lambert is too negative and only puts survival in the players mind, and not victory,
  22. Job done! Well done the players for taking the initiative to go on the attack and break free of the shackles.
  23. Westwood gives the same signal for last two corners, one front and the other went back post. I wonder if he knows what he is doing?
