  1. I believe though this is a digital system… I think we are gunna see more and more sponsors logos blazoned around grounds like at MLB stadiums given the sheer global tv viewing figures…
  2. The stairwells at the ethihad now show sponsor logos. They’re rinsing every square inch for profit. https://stairmediaglobal.com/about-us/
  3. **** the BBC - they won’t be around in a decade or so plus they aren’t taking up the whole area …
  4. Any fantasy move would need to be near a major transport hub with the ability to regenerate the area for the clubs benefit so to make a multi use arena commercially viable. Walking distance from two major stations, trams, bus station and city centre. Better than an industrial estate in Aston.
  5. Sell him back to Betis or an other Spanish team and then sign Juan Miranda his replacement at Betis ironically on a free - simples.
  6. Unless the Saudis offer silly money i don’t understand why some seem to think he should be sold. He’s a fantastic rotation option and allows the youth to progress another season to see if they are good enough and then reassess summer 2025.
  7. If you’re talking never gunna happen locations for a fantasy stadium location then surely this area right next door to the new HS2 station which is a massive waste of prime inner city space is the logical hypothetical location. It’s ripe for redevelopment as a lot of the current buildings could be repurposed etc. It’s near two major train stations and could be a new district hub for entertainment, bars & restaurants etc. But as I said it’s a fantasy as we aren’t moving
  8. Sell if we can this summer ! Has offered nothing really since he’s back from injury and isn’t showing signs of regaining form.
  9. For all their possession they’ve had one chance. I’d hook moreno at 30mins if he continues like this but not overly concerned.
  10. As I said the block next the one that was counted has an extra row
  11. The rows counted are away fans section and if you look closer the home fans has one more row
  12. When they re-profiled the lower Witton tier due to asbestos it lost 6 rows of seats and blocked the view of circa 150 seats on the corner of the Holte … The old tier was closer to the pitch and was by the looks of it the same rake and the Holte.
  13. Any seat gains would be the least desirable but would offset areas converted to GA+ so the maintain capacity of normal seats whilst adding to overall capacity. Cost to benefit ratio just wouldn’t be there so as I said a fantasy proposal.
  14. As much fantasy as a new stadium else where here’s a rudimentary idea of what VP with the trinity & Holte squared off would look like - again right to light would make it impossible but I’m bored today when I should be working
  15. As moving is a non starter, I’ve been looking at ways they may look to add capacity. By looking at the Holte you can add rows to the front and rear of the upper tier without major reconstruction works by extending them forwards and backwards.
  16. Be great if at our next home game there’s a round of applause for a true bonafide legend in the 10th minute to recognise and honour his contributions over the years…
  17. NSWE were gunna drop the best part of $1billion on a Las Vegas expansion team so if the business case and site were there for a new stadium I’m sure they’d have explored it. As others have recently pointed out we aren’t maximising what we have in terms in essence rinsing fans, so I can only see a new stadium being thought about once every last penny has been squeezed from fans and there is no further room for growth. Currently there is huge room to grow revenue at and from Villa Park rather than spend a £1billion on something new and shiny. Modern football is about £££ and not history and heritage so that will always be the driver.
  18. Yep all talk about redevelopment nor stadia is just pure fantasy.
  19. What about the cramped fans in the Witton stand - do they not deserve safer and better facilities, or we just ignore that stand? Thats why buying houses has been proposed so it can be made fit for purpose which would increase revenue per seat
  20. A true multi use stadium with a retractable roof and pitch would mean concerts and other non grass events do not have to be held within a four week summer window … it’s just a fantasy proposal I admit
  21. Hypothetically any massive debt would be long term and on fixed terms. I’d trust Sawaris & Edens to make the right call so not to jeopardise our future or their investment by saddling us with crippling debts we couldn’t support. If / when the business case stacks up I’m sure it’s something they will explore, or have indeed explored. A true multi use stadia would give us and Birmingham the ability to host concerts all year round, adding many millions to us and the local economy. Other events like say a Leon Edwards UFC homecoming fight and the long term potential to host NFL games when the spurs monopoly ends, etc etc. Birmingham is crying out for true world class facilities and we need to be mindful of them down the road who are equally ambitious to grow.
  22. A centrally based stadium close to HS2 station would be the best hypothetical option with parking at the NEC for the majority of fans - Birmingham’s love of an industrial estate and distribution hubs means huge swathes of land aren’t viable sadly. Hindsight is wonderful but that land close to the city centre could’ve been better utilised over the years.
  23. Thats 8k seats more than the trinity. If we could purchase a few houses on Nelson Street and a small portion of the park longer term we could theoretically expand the trinity by adding another tier similar to the SAF stand at Old Trafford - just without the horrible sloping roof. We can have a 60k plus Villa Park which would be a whole lot cheaper and easier perhaps than relocation.
  24. CPO’s would be cheaper than a fresh rebuild and would be the catalyst for gentrifying the local area. Highly unpopular but could be necessary. The local terrace housing is no doubt poorly insulated and a massive inefficient use of space. But they are peoples homes so it’s a delicate situation. If we could purchase the houses along Holte Road blocking the rebuilding of the Witton and then Nelson Road so the New North Stand can be built bigger than previously proposed then moving wouldn’t be so important. Lost properties could be replaced with town houses and apartments. This is the route I think we will take long term.
  25. Spurs went from just under £1mill per game to £4.8mill per game when they moved … we wouldn’t get the same bump due to geographical location but you’d expect to triple matchday revenues which isn’t that insignificant. It all adds up
