  1. Will the halfway lounge still get built I wonder ? Have you heard what’s planned ? I was told they’re going to get rid of most of the private boxes and make them into larger lounges and the remaining boxes will be pitched at big international firms. Same person said he’d been told that this would allow extra rows to be added to the upper tier as you’re not allowed to drink alcohol with a view of the pitch when the game is on. Then it doesn’t matter as much a slightly restricted view of the pitch from the lounges as you’d watch the game from a seat and not the box.
  2. *62 thousand seat spaceship designed stadium (maybe)
  3. What is your problem ? It’s in the phase two plans we are going to add 3000 seats and if you read what I’ve posted I was agreeing with you earlier FFS. They have said we aren’t moving and we will add 3000 extra seats but some don’t / won’t believe either statement. But i guess from your posts that you are a linguistic and semantics expert into the exact meaning of words as well and how they are meant and to be interpreted. Thank you for the enlightenment
  4. I meant the club have said we aren’t moving and also said we are going to add 3000 extra seats - it’s in the phase two plans. Yet some fans don’t believe it is something we are looking to do.
  5. They wouldn’t say yes even if they were thinking about it imo. Not until all avenues were explored and final decision made. I think the better question would be why are we staying at Villa park with its restrictions when building a new stadium next door / in town where they would grow revenues.
  6. As much as they aren’t leaving Villa park yes … Phase two of the original proposals saw capacity increase to 53’000. Heck has said we’re looking at reconfiguring the bowl to increase capacity…
  7. I’m in agreement with you but for balance it would be massively counter productive and expensive to come out and say yeah we wanna move stadium and we’re looking for land openly. That’s 20,30,40% increase in asking price right there. We may be quietly doing due diligence, negotiating for land, and working on feasibility studies and designs so all options are thoroughly explored.
  8. The club have stated categorically on numerous occasions they plan on adding 3000 seats to Villa park but some don’t believe that.
  9. Can people please stop pissing on my dreams of a new super stadium next door to Villa Park - thanks
  10. I’d be ok with selling for in and around £100million or more. I don’t wish us to but can see the benefits. He’s a great player but also one who I think we could replace easier than Watkins or Martinez. We need to get better at selling players at the right time for us and then reinvest that money into the team. Signed for £15million in 2019 so that’s £100mill pure profit.
  11. Just imagine our own version of this … forget the generic bowl design of Emirates
  12. I’d expect us to partner with someone like Ballymore for example and potentially to appease the council / local government develop a mix of affordable and build to rent units as well as private ownership. With Aston Hall grounds nearby it would be served with vast amount of green space, Tesco’s already in the area. Two upgraded mainline train stations to service the area to and from the centre. It would be transformative. Shame it’s just a message board pipe dream and far from reality.
  13. TBF it’s a very nice looking school also. We are just talking of a pie in the sky fantasy right ow based on board appointments. It may just be a case of spreading workload amongst trusted lieutenants and nothing bigger than that. One can but dream of new stadia and entertainment districts but nothing points to that.
  14. Nor do I but been reading this … https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/1071500/CPO_guidance_-_with_2019_update.pdf and… https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compulsory_purchase_in_England_and_Wales#:~:text=Compulsory purchase is the power, various bodies in various situations.
  15. The whole area would need to put under a Compulsory Purchase Order so they have no choice. We would need to prove that by doing so it would be of socio economic benefit to the local and wider area. Right now it’s shit housing stock with a football ground as its neighbour. Any development would need to include at its heart community beneficial amenities and services. The whole area from Aston hall to the academy building would be opened up into a thriving new district given locals more opportunities, jobs, entertainment etc.
  16. They get compensated above market value and I wonder how many are owned and how many are rented. Maybe they could be offered the chance to purchase off plan a new apartment or town house. It’s about what is best for the greater area and wider good and a new district would bring the whole area up in value.
  17. It would open up the area below the expressway from the Aston Inn to the Aston Tavern with a route from Aston Station to a new fantasy ground. Spurs are the obvious example, given they are to build residential towers, a hotel and extreme sports hub, college and offices in an area smaller than the hypothetical area I highlighted. Add in an imax and the small concert venue it would turn a run down suburban area into a thriving rejuvenated part of Birmingham which Brummies would want to visit outside of Villa games.
  18. The amount of apartments, hotel beds, offices, retail, recreational and community facilities which could be built within the highlighted area would be a massive catalyst for regeneration and could also get government levelling up funding towards the wider area. It would add value to the remaining houses.
  19. You mean CPO the land which some find unfavourable for some reason.
  20. Reducing the amount of vehicular traffic is paramount to any move. Just posted it to show that’s the only site currently listed openly by the council which would be big enough.
  21. Often see posts relating to land sales from the broke ass council. You can search all the properties for sale / let currently from the council and they’ve currently 42 listed with only one being a suitable size is , Peddimore Lane, Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, B76 9AA. Worth noting not that far from the belfry & Bodymoor Heath and motorways but not near a train station. Not sure what other property they own which would be suitable size and location.
  22. And ? He’s part of history now being part of a potentially invincible team, he’s only 22 and can easily see him staying there for another season and then he’ll have his pick no doubt of the top tier elite teams. He also isn’t what we need right now IMO based on other more pressing positions. I can see us going for Sergi Roberto whose contract is a most up bit think they’ve got a year option. Versatile, vastly experienced, cheap and we have Kosta, Konsa, Cash & KHH so why spend £40mill on another one ?
  23. Why would frimpong leave Leverkusen for us at this point in his career ?
  24. CPO’s should only ever be used for the greater good and to serve more people than they harm and though unfortunate for those involved they will be compensated accordingly. I’ve no issue with that. But only to facilitate a ground move if the area surrounding the stadium benefits locals just as much as fans. I don’t think it’s necessarily appropriate though to use them just to expand the Witton without.
