  1. I would never support moving for the sake of it to an out of town soulless development and generic bowl. Any potential move would need to be the right location and importantly design. The efficiencies of a modern bowl stadia with spacious interconnected concourses, centralised plant & BOH would be a huge benefit but not worth sacrificing VP for if we were to end up with an enlarged king power stadium. Manica, Herzog & DeMeuron, B.I.G etc are designing some beautiful stadiums right now and I’d expect us to honour our history with any proposal which is just wishful conjecture at this point in time.
  2. Thats what I was told by someone who works within the industry for one of the largest agencies out there … I don’t know myself as not privy to it just passing on what he said when discussing what moving stadia could mean.
  3. Why - just because you say so? You could just avoid the thread rather than post your opinions as fact ?

  5. We will all have different tales of people we've spoken to regarding a stadium move and it really doesn’t mean anything nor is indicative of the general mood of a fan base. I’ve had that conversation with someone who works at Wasserman agency as an intermediary recently and his take on it was that it would be a game changer for us in the eyes of players. Most players don’t give too shits about the history of a ground according to him other than the obvious Anfield’s and Old Trafford’s. He went on to say that they want to play at the best modern stadiums where the facilities for them, their families and friends are first class. He said players who maybe would think twice about playing for Everton currently will be more inclined once they move to Bramley Dock. That said it’s just one man’s opinion who is in the know about these things and has no affiliation to our club. It’s not a strong argument for or against. Just like someone’s nephews affiliation to Villa Park has no barring whether we should move and Ultimately finances will dictate more than fans views on the matter. I’d be way more inclined to pay £1000 plus per season for a GA+ season ticket if getting to the ground via public transport wasn’t an expensive tedious ball ache or if my car was safe from vandalism from some kid(s) and I’m sure they’ll be others just like me who think and would do the same. Whilst it is such an ass ache I just pick and choose the games I attend.
  6. If we were to go down the multi-use route than it would need to be a retractable pitch like spurs, or Real or given the space Allegiant in Vegas
  7. love Grealish and would’ve love to see him under Emery especially after working under Pep but better value to be had in Baena & Williams who are younger with potentially higher ceilings .
  8. So common consensus seems to be that Lucas Oil field is a blueprint as opposed to the norm 3 tier generic bowl stadia which many new ones tend to be. If we were to replicate the Holte one end and a single tiered stand the other then IMO we have the 4 separate stand aesthetic of Villa Park in a modern interpretation befitting our illustrious club & history. Lucas Oil seats 63’000 which is around the current considered sweet spot for capacity.
  9. Next up a nice new sleeve sponsor - Rakuten perhaps or a Chinese electric car company. We are on track to at least triple our sponsorship deal commercial income in one fell swoop …
  10. Fermin Lopez is an interesting prospect at Barca who are still an ongoing financial shit show so could be tempted to sell him. Could see a move being made.
  11. Don’t think it’s a fair comparison - all stadiums were probably louder back then due to standing and nature of fans . It’s evolved since then - Villa park back in the early 90’s when I first started going was more atmospheric that it is now IMO. Until it’s open who knows what Everton’s new stadium will be like atmosphere wise even if the interior seems boring to some - the fans make or break the atmosphere not the stadium per se. A new Villa park designed so fans are as close to the pitch as possible, with steep stands could be a cauldron if the fans made it so.
  12. I’d like the two end stands to be different from each other as well as the side stands so to preserve the unique four stand quality of Villa Park. The lower tier and executive / corporate tier(s) would need to join but not the upper with clear separation. As we are talking fantasy with large retractable windows in each corner to again mimic the current VP open to the elements. I know this is pointless discussion but one can but dream.
  13. I wouldn’t want is to move to a boring identikit generic bowl indistinguishable from any new European stadium. So In terms of potential designs would people like to have a single tier or two tiered Holte end in their fantasy new Villa stadium ? Spurs’ single tier stand looks mightily impressive but then an even larger replica of the current Holte End would be my preference with large retractable windows in the corners.
  14. I wasn’t disagreeing with you, I just don’t understand why it affects the atmosphere so much that’s all. As think season ticket holders should be offered as close as possible the exact seats they previously had as / where so fans who want to stay together can when clubs move stadia. Maybe it’s a the more comfortable you are the more passive a fan becomes - gone are the days of a raucous Holte End bouncing sadly.
  15. The fans will be the defining factor of any new stadium and the Everton stadium is designed for them to be as close to the pitch as possible. I don’t quite understand why the atmosphere should suffer after a move if handled correctly. if we were to move I’d like a continuous lower tier then 4 separated upper tiers and no sloping roof so the fans can see the whole stadium from the last row rather than letter box view and disconnected.
  16. Mobile wallets don’t incur wages etc and should facilitate faster flow in theory …
  17. MLS 3rd kits will have the name of the club on the front as opposed to a sponsor - thoughts if they followed the same thing for us ? https://amp.footyheadlines.com/6821653710269121379/
  18. Ass the champions league stadium star roof and we’ve hit ourselves a winner !
  19. I wonder if one of the larger new Chinese electric car brands might want to gain international exposure by sponsoring a team ? BYD, NIO or Lynk & Co all have acceptable logos and big plans
  20. herzog & de meuron have designed some amazing brick buildings including the now cancelled Chelsea stadium … they have past form in recycling their designs for other clients as the Bordeaux stadium design was initially designed for Portsmouth… A take on their stadium for Chelsea would be befitting imo.
  21. It fits the local vernacular though which I think anyone who references it means a new Villa park should do and celebrates the rich industrial history of Birmingham without being Disney - esque
  22. New revenue stream - bath bombs
