    So the New Anfield Road End was fully opened today and this is what other teams are offering in terms of concourses and finishes… We get painted breeze-blocks, or the sterile Lower Grounds

    The biggest issue with Villa park is making the Witton Lane stand fit for purpose. The north stand is easy given the space behind. Been thinking of what they could do long term to replace it, two options being a stand similar to the old Highbury North Bank with a big second tier overhang or Portland timbers main stand stacked tiers.

    To make a new stadium financially viable it would need to be a true multi use venue used for 300 odd days a year. I’ve seen some suggest Birmingham airport as an option but can’t see how the owners of the NEC would permit a rival venue being built so close. If we did then it would have to have a retractable roof and pitch. Birmingham desperately needs to keep up with London & Manchester to attract big events or will be left out. It’s a nice idea but sadly cannot see a new stadium being built in my lifetime.

    So (almost) 3 signings with huge potential sewed up to hopefully add depth to three problem positions for less than the cost of around £16mill before add ons … Another great transfer window

    No doubt a v.bad result and poor performance so far … but we bounced back from the away game and we will do again and this game won’t define our season. We will finish where we deserve to over 38 games and never expected us to stay in the top 4 until the end but we will be there or thereabouts.

    The self entitled ego of some fans still startles me and also how quick some are to turn. A few patchy games which all teams go through and the season is over. Look how far we’ve come and then look where we are and find some **** perspective.

    So no team ever has come back from a two goal deficit according to some of the posts on here and just when things gets a lil tough just give up … that’s the spirit Villa fans. Have faith we will come back strong and if we don’t then so be it. One game won’t define our season and we go again

    I think the money will be there if the figures stack up which I’ll be very surprised if they don’t. It needs replacing if we’re to grow our commercial revenues no questions and has been massively underinvested in other than a refit every few years. Maybe they’ll build a whole new building adjacent / attached to the warehouse as there is plenty of flat space.

    Can see them adding an additional floor to the current structure to maximise its size. I know the spurs shop cannot be used as a comparison as was purpose built no expense spared just like their stadium but just look at the sheer size of it. Again makes our set up look pitiful and again is one of the many reasons they are so far ahead commercially taking out corporate seating etc. Maybe also the ticket office block will be turned into some type of experience space as proposed within Villa Live to create one big destination rather than just retail outlet.

    Truly is atrocious and fully expect Heck to splash the cash on a fit for purpose space rather than a value engineering solution seeing that the New North Stand isn’t going ahead for the time being. It could assist with crowd dispersal after matches with people actually being able to mooch around and browse rather than being a horrible crowded experience it can be currently you’d expect the average transaction spend to increase drastically.

    Lange & Leith would’ve built a huge data pool of players before they left and now add in Monchi’s scouting knowledge, Trivedi’s insights and as you say Monchi has had the time to review and add to this ever expanding list, Rogers will be a well established target based on more than a game and a good 6 months at Boro. Add to this Hopcroft & Harrison’s intimate inside knowledge of Roger’s early development, attitude, ability to adapt and potential. I don’t get why anyone would doubt his potential signing
