  1. I know of a free place where you can park and you won't get your vehicle clamped/towed away. Bascially get off at J15 of the M6, get on the A500 towards Stoke then turn off at the first roundabout left and follow sign towards Newcastle under Lyme. At first set of traffic lights turn right and then continue for half a mile and you can then park up one of the side roads. Stadium is 15/20 min walk from there. There's plenty of secure parking closer to stadium but they're about a fiver I think.
  2. Very intelligent player and a good pick up at the time as he'd set up a lot of RVN's goals at PSV. More of a withdrawn forward who could create and score, the sort we've been missing for years tbh upfront.
  3. The bleeding annoying thing is that McLeish always had a knack of getting results off the big teams at home at least last season at SHA. They beat Arsenal in the cup of course (and actually played very well in that game) drew twice with Man. City, drew with Man. United at home, beat Chelsea and drew with Liverpool and Spurs. That's what is hacking me off with McLeish, I expected the football to be dull but I also expected him to bring with him some of the skills he had at SHA, defensive solidness, improved home record, great spirit. I'm pretty sure SHA scored quite a few last minute winners under him and of course he comes here and the opposite happens!
  4. Bannan hasn't had a good game since the drink drive charge and conviction.
  5. Yep agreed. Just when he starts playing a game or two he picks up an injury.

  7. Big frustration for me is the amount of balls we had whizzing along the 6 yard box in the first half that just evaded Gabby/Ireland. I'm fairly sure Bent would've gobbled up one of those crosses, he did after all score two against Norwich when we were getting the crosses in. It's not hard, play two wide players and Bent will score more goals.
  8. Yeah the abuse is OTT but then Blackburn fans are hardly a rebelling bunch are they? Truth is the Venkys don't have a clue as sacking Big Sam was a moronic decision as he was exactly right for a club like Blackburn and Kean is totally out of his depth and should've been put out of his misery a long time ago hence the fans anger.
  9. In fairness to the club we didn't take up that many for an 8pm kick off last season.
  10. Yeah I think it was 38 quid last season so a 10 quid reduction is very good from Wolves. Tempted to go aswell but doubt it will make booking history given we only have an allocation of 2 400 for this.
  11. Fulham couldn't afford Bent. Dembele ain't that consistant, has his moments but dosen't score much. I'd say Dempsey is equally as good for them and wouldn't cost that much. Ironic though that McLeish wanted Dembele for SHA...
  12. G.Gardner is back on January 1st I think so available for Swansea game.
  13. McLeish was after Pavlychenko when he was at SHA....
  14. The only big miss today was Gabby and it wasn't a case of losing him at the last minute as we knew from last Saturday he wouldn't play in this game. Bent would have made little difference in this game and Herd has played well but is still a rookie at this level. I really couldn't see him dominating the liverpool midfield today.
  15. The joke is on you if you think a man with 2 Premier League relegations is good enough for this club. Show me where i said i was happy with him? All i said was i'd like to see the available managers out there do a better job. MARK HUGHES. Our last manager was Gerard Houllier and our current manager is Alex McLeish. Something tells me if we sack McLeish we are going to end up with someone even worse. That worries me greatly. As does some Villa fans ringing up phone ins after the game and suggesting the likes of Roy Keane and Strachen as new managers!
  16. He won't though. He couldn't believe his luck when he saw manager after manager turn us down in the summer while he was facing a season of struggle in the championship with SHA. Anyone really think he's going to give this gig up, not a chance. I think we'll lose our next three given how we play today and the reaction will be toxic if we fail to beat Swansea on Jan 2nd, probably as bad as it was for Houllier after Sunderland last season. He survived and was given money to spend on players, I wouldn't give another penny or second in this job. Get rid.
  17. Loan in January. I'd rather give Gary Gardner some minutes.
  18. Has McLeish said anything about this "injury?" Edit: 3pm? Maybe he watched the first half in some pub/bar in Cambridge, saw what utter rubbish it was and decided to piss off?
  19. Do people think a front trio of Fonz, Gabby and Bent might be the way forward or are we doomed for failure with any attacking formation we play under this manager?
  20. The point was that Giovani's hardly played for Spurs in the last year yet Spurs are still wanting 5m for him while as N'zogbia has had a poor first 5 months with us, Richard thinks we should sell him for 2m even though he's done much more in the prem than Giovani ever has. Back to him anyway, at his infuriating worst today. Powerpuff or inaccurate shots at goal when he found himself in good positions and doing his usual trick of dribbling into 2-3 players and losing the ball. It wouldn't be so bad if he'd been a matchwinner for us in a few games this season but still no goals and assists from him.
  21. Was I the only one who saw a bit of potential in the Fonz's game today? O.k 2nd half he was as bad as everyone else but 1st half early on I was liking the way he was picking up the ball deep and getting Albrighton into the game. That's what I see with him when he plays for us or the under 21s, a striker who likes to pick the ball up from deep and isn't a goal poacher. I do think he'd work well with either Gabby or Bent but no doubt as he didn't score today, we won't see him on the pitch again for another month while Heskey continues to cheat a living here.
  22. The thing is with him...and what I was holding out hope for...was he was supposed to be decent going forward. How many driving runs/good crosses has he made since he's been here, can hardly recall any. Luke Young was much much better. Carlos should be the RB until January.
