  1. Yes beating Fulham was critical. I would be feeling as despondent as most on here if we were only on 31 points. Those extra two points have still given us a manageable buffer.
  2. I know.....so why can't we get some then? Man. United's next three games are Blackburn away and Wigan away and QPR at home. Are you telling me on the brink of winning the title they're just going to collapse and give out points just because Fergie wants his mates to avoid relegation????
  3. Saving grace I can see is Wigan's next 3 games are Arsenal and Chelsea away and Manure at home. So that's the leaders and two teams chasing top 4 away, I'm looking at far east betting syndicates if they get more than 3 points from those games. QPR got Manure away next so short term I don't think the gap will get down to 3 points or anything.
  4. I honestly thought Chelsea away on NYE was going to be a turning point. The team had played battled well previously and now we had a convincing results. N'zogbia played well, Ireland play well, things were starting to come together. I expect a better 2nd half of the season and a comfortable mid table finish. Two days later we were outclassed by Swansea and since then have won TWO league games. Awful.
  5. I might be in a minority but Gabby certainly made a move towards Terry and looked to have pushed him slightly at which point Terry just collapsed and got a decision and England captain usually gets. We were shite yet again for 70 minutes before the late rally. Yes they've improved since AVB got the bullet but they came into this game on the back of 4 straight away defeats. And why oh why can't we defend a corner?! These are the basics McLeish has failed to get right from as far back as Man. City away when he was having a go at the team for losing goals from set pieces. I've tried to give him a chance this season but he's become increasingly O'dreary-esque as the season has progressed.
  6. They've dropped plenty of points recently, lost away to Pompey, Leicester and at home to Forest and drawn with Derby and Cardiff. The annoying thing is no one is captalising...Cardiff have had a major slump post play off final, Hull have one win in 10, Leeds lost today and Boro have stopped winning.
  7. I'd rather bet on the teams below us, had 2 quid on QPR to beat Arsenal today at 5-1.
  8. Yeah, it's a fixed loan so he can't play for us this season. What happened to Delph, I read on here he was back in full training?! And how come we recalled the Fonz and he can't even make the bench now?
  9. I still believe 35 points is the survival target...I still back us to scamble two draws.... Wolves are down...I believe the loser of Wigan v Blackburn 2nd last game of the season will be relegated. QPR are worrying me I must admit...they seem to be doing a West Ham from 5 years ago when they went on this mad winning run towards the end of the season. I thought they'd nick a point against Arsenal but not win. Only positive I can see is they still keep losing away from home and their final four away games are West Brom, Chelsea, Manure and Man. City.
  10. Horrible news, horrible season. Get well soon Stan.
  11. Believe it or not we have 5 points from our last 4 games.
  12. It reached its peak in 2010 imo with Stuart Baggs "the Brand" and a few other great characters. I don't think that series will be bettered.
  13. That was because he scored a good goal at Pompey on his debut. That made him undroppable in MON's eyes. He didn't score another goal until April unsurprisingly.
  14. Yes it is. However talented he was at Leeds, we still paid 7m for a player who hadn't performed above league 1 player. A joke when you see Norwich signing Pilkington from Huddersfield for 3m who is a good player.
  15. He was shite on Saturday again, fair enough it was against Walcott but he breezed past Warnock so easily so often. Amazing to think just two years ago he was considered "England quality." Looked at the sunday paper ratings and he actually got the best mark of all our defence. Got a 7 in one while Hutton who I thought was o.k got a 5. I've tried to defend him but he really is a poor player nowadays so get rid if we can. Hopefully big Sam will want him again.
  16. True but at least our defence are starting to keep clean sheets now against mediocre teams (wigan and Fulham) so that guarentees us a point at least. We'll be o.k. Not that it's good enough but we won't go down. I think we can stay up on 35 points as I really can't see the third relegated team getting to 36 so two draws will be achieved. As I've said before, the time to really worry about relegation will be next season unless we get our act together from top to bottom in the summer.
  17. He was decent enough for Osasuna. Year before he left for Rangers, they reached the semi finals of the europa league and think they also finished in the top 4 one season.
  18. He only looked out of his depth away to Man. City (who didn't that day?) From memory he played pretty well in the two home games against WBA and Spurs.
  19. In fairness Carew had been injured for two months we needed another striker in. Heskey was playing o.k for Wigan at the time but couldn't believe it at the time when we gave a 31 year old a 3 and a half year deal.
  20. If Valencia want him he'd be mad to stay here. Chance to play champions league football in his 30s after all.
  21. I think it's fair to say the season has begun to catch up with Stan. Was pretty good before xmas but struggled since then.
  22. How many caps does he have for the U.S.A now?
  23. They won't. Fancy a bet? :winkold: Everyone thought they'd beat a Bolton team still upset and they were awful in the first half as they were against us. Still go to play the likes of Manure and Liverpool at home and swansea and Spurs away. Their final two games of the season are Wigan at home and Chelsea away aswell.
  24. We don't. As I've said countless times SHA went down on 39 points which was the highest points tally to go down since 2003. It was a freak year. The average since then to stay up with is 35 points so 2 draws as we have a better goal difference than the teams below us. I actually still think Blackburn will go down as their final 3 games are Spurs and Chelsea away and Wigan at home. I could see them losing all three of those games.
