We are not too big or good for them you know. Spurs are well and truly ahead of us by light years at the minute and whilst their fringe players don't exactly go with what seems to be our current plan, they would easily get into the team on talent alone.
So you think we should sell our best player to them, accepting less cash to accommodate a player they seem to want to lose from their wage bill?
Hmm i'd be surprised if we got him for 10 mill TBH. Utd and Arsenal were watching him over the season so maybe he is going to them or something
Man Utd and Arsenal are supposedly watching everyone. I don't believe it.
If we put in a bid, I reckon we could land him. I just think Lambert would prefer to go cheap and cheerful! (which I'm happy with!)
Why would man u be watching anyone with the manager only in place a matter of days?
Im not so sure about that.
More likely it will be the case for experienced players with no resale value, but this kind of signing could well turn out to be profitable as well as great for our league chances.
We are also clearing up a lot of wage space this close season.
Hopefully this is a sign of things to come!
(I have to say Im dubious he will join all the same)
1- not for sale
2- offers above £Xm
Right...and that will placate who exactly?
It wont mean a thing unless there is movement from the players camp. Further more it makes the club look naive if Benteke then pulls a wobbler and we are forced to sell.
Given the agitation in the press, I suggest that if there were a release clause, then it would have been made public by now.
The press would not have been given a chance, his agent would have shouted it from the rooftops at Christmas!
