    If you personally don't like Everton fair enough, however they as a fanbase were quite empathetic during that relegation season. In fact they were the only away fans that clapped us when we sang 'we want our villa back'.

    Just read on the athletic that they are trying to add a year 1 buy back into archers contract, wonder if this is similar to ramseys? Thought these buy backs had a minimum of 2 or 3 years? If we can buy him back after a year it's essentially a ffp friendly loan.

    Touché Just to add to my point I'm not talking about rotation of the whole squad for the game, just rotation of good players to get some game time in their legs. The likes of Tielemans, Diego and zaniolo should all be starting.

    There's a reason stevenge is used in these arguments...because they are so rare. There's also a big difference between that tie in that it's 2 legs.

    If we let these players stagnate keeping them around for a few fleeting appearances then why will the next generation choose us over another academy? 99% won't make it with us but if we can get them a future in the game then it's good for everyone.

    They have dcl back by most reports. He will make a difference to their attack.

    Now I've had the night to think this over I think the fault came from us not pressing high enough at the top, vital to the way you have to play with a high line. I think emis absence played a massive part as did replacing him with Bailey, who simply did not put any pressure on the opposition defence. The problems simply spiraled from there.

    You are right, far more likely the whole team had a mare for no reason.
