Depends at which stats you look at and for what reason. Looking at how many goals they scored will tell you who scores more goals. looking at their running, tackling dribbling, blocking, GCA etc etc will show you that Watkins puts in twice as many tackles, and about 20 times as many dribbles and so on. If you want a player that just puts the ball in the net, then Wood > Watkins if you want a player that is practically a defender/midfielder/striker rolled into one player AND scores goals then Watkins>>>>woods Quite frankly, there’s not a lot of players in the Watkins mould - THATs what makes him much more valuable.

Well exactly my point. if we want a tried and tested backup, then it’s going to cost £££ if we just want a back up, then we’ve got a ? already, no point in spending £20m on another ? Better off getting a journeyman loan. All a moot point really, I don’t think Tammy would come here to be a backup. But if he was willing, then I’d be up for signing him.

You’re just bringing up a list of players that have just been bought, that you have no idea how they will perform. If Daka scores 30 goals this season he’ll be worth £100m. If Oliseh has a blinding season he’ll be worth a hell of a lot more. Or maybe neither will get a sniff, and be worth half of what they paid. Soucek is worth £50m+, and Raphina prob the same - BECAUSE they’ve proven it. Abraham has scored premier league goals, that is what you pay the premium for. He has proven capability. Daka does not - hence the price difference.

In an attacking sense statistically this is a no contest. BUT Dyche sets his wingers up like this, because their chap on the other wing has similar stats. but you asked for the stats, and I gave them to you.

Tammy scores goals. Of this there is no doubt. If we’ve got loads of money, buy him up. if we haven’t, then a proper DM is the priority.
