  1. Exactly, we ain’t SHA that are about to retire his shirt after a few seasons. If he goes, he’ll be a brilliant player that moved on. No more a legend than Platt or Yorke. Id thank him for his contribution, wish him the best and have no ill feelings at all towards him. But no way would he be a legend. That’s the price he pays for leaving.
  2. Come on Jack! think Yorke He could have been a villa legend. He’s now the guy that banged a stripper, refuses to see his disabled son, and plays the racism card everytime the villa managers job is up for grabs. Oh and had a couple of decent seasons for Utd. Had you stayed you might just have got the shot at the managers job. You prick. Go count your shiny medals.
  3. Me too If he stays, he’ll end up with a statue at villa park. He will see that every time he goes to villa park for the rest of his life. The statue will live on another 500 years. No one will give 2 shits how many medals he won with City in 10 years time.
  4. No way they can buy both. FFP wise. Unless they got buyers for Bernardo and Sterling or Mahrez. Man U already spent a shed load, and Chelsea focusing on Haaland. Kane probably shat himself seeing the Jack Grealish thing and is going to push hard for a transfer. Spurs will lower their price or face having a very very unhappy Kane. Genius play by City to be fair.
  5. Just came to post the same. Grealish has been smoke and mirrors to get Spurs to drop Kane’s price
  6. Dean Smith managed Brentford. Brentford are the ultimate recycling club. If there’s one manager who is used to replacing 1 player with 3 ultimately better ones… it’s Dean Smith.
  7. U/barronwaste He deleted his account because of personal stuff that was in the same Reddit. there’s a new account who claims to be the same guy, explaining why he deleted it, but I’m not sure if the new account is legit.
  8. Your analogy is perfect, but you’ve got the wrong PERSPECTIVE. Now run through it again from the point of view of the missus. No one is saying that they WANT him to leave. They are saying they can understand WHY he would leave. Back to your analogy - she ain’t just walking off, the good looking fella is giving you £1m for her. You think she’s worth £2m.
  9. I’ve said it time and time again. The length of the contract is what protects the fee. The longer the contract, the larger the fee.
  10. I think that’s emotions talking. You’ll reflect back on this in a few months time when Buendia shows himself to be the better player and think, actually Jack, I wish you well.
  11. Calm down. He’s not walking away for free. We will be aptly rewarded for his ability and loyalty. What would have been a kick in the teeth would be if he had gone to a shit club like spurs. If he goes, he’s going for trophies. What would be a crying shame is if a talent like that won nothing in his career. I would love for a Villa fan to win the ballon d’or. If he goes I hope he absolutely lights the world up. I wish he’d stay, but if anyone has earnt this move, it’s him. I for one will not have anyone saying anything bad about him.
  12. There is no such thing as ‘sure’ where Southgate is involved Southgate will probably find another CDM to squeeze in there somewhere in place of left wing, or even a striker
  13. IF he goes, we will look back at the end of the season and say £60m + Buendia for Jack is the best bit of business ever done. Of this I am confident. But I really hope we hold out for £150m +
  14. I don’t know why people keep referring to this as though he has done a bad thing. The new 5 year deal protected our potential selling fee, and in return he got a pay rise. We have no idea what the terms of the contract are, but I for one feel indebted to him for signing that contract when he could have just let it just run it’s course and walked away for free. The length of the remaining contract is factored into the transfer fee. If a player with 5 years left on his contract is worth £100m, the same player with 1 year left on his contract and looking to move will be worth £30m. He did villa a huge favour by signing that contract, can we please stop bringing it up like it’s some daggers in the dark bullshit.
  15. If city bid £75m i’d send a note back saying ‘that’s not how you spell Conor Hourihane’
  16. I know what you mean, and I get it. but a statement like ‘we don’t really know if he’s going or staying’ won’t help anyone at all. The only person who can put out a statement is Jack - but he’s not going to do it during contract negotiations. What do you expect from them? ’Jack is 100% staying’ - if this turns out to be a lie then the fans will be furious. ’Jack is 100% leaving’ this obviously isn’t true yet. ’jack might stay or he might go’ - which is what we already know. Why would they need to fuel any fire with that? What exactly do you want them to say? ‘There’s media speculation about Man City wanting our player. That’s all we know so far.’ No. Doesn’t need to happen. When there’s something concrete, we’ll hear. Everyone needs to calm down.
  17. I think we’re getting our wires crossed. Of course the CLUB need to know what is going on. The point I’m making is that Aston Villa don’t need to release a statement, which was your original suggestion - the FANS don’t NEED to know what’s going on. Why on earth would the release a statement? if a fan can’t handle the situation then thats his/her own personal issue. If he wants to cry because someone says ‘advanced’ then that’s his problem whether it be real or fake. Whatever is going on behind the scenes, if anything at all, can continue to go on behind the scenes. The people who NEED to know already know what’s going on. How does the club releasing a statement about it change anything at all? I trust them to do what’s best for Villa, and if he goes, I’d be pretty damn confident that they tried their absolute best to keep him. What I’m not going to do is have a fit of rage because no one is keeping me in the loop of what is quite frankly - none of my damn business. So - NO. They shouldn’t put out any statements until there is a concrete statement to put out.
  18. What plans do YOU need to make for Aston Villa’s upcoming season? The board, the coaching team and the player are obviously at the frontline of knowing what’s going on. My point is that why should they release any statements? Statements to who?
  19. I disagree TRO We should do no such thing. We should either declare he’s sold, a bid has been rejected, or that he’s signed a new contract. Nothing else. Its not our problem is people want to make up stories, and that other people are having meltdowns over it. Why should the board have to act on every single transfer rumour? You set a precedence and we’ll be expecting them to deny every rumour from now until eternity. It’s not my business, your business, or anyone else’s business. It’s between Aston Villa FC and Jack Grealish. Aston Villa should only make statements that benefit the club when made. Everyone else wanting information can go **** themselves (including the fans) The only people likely to suffer from not knowing are those wanting Grealish on their shirts. If the club put out a statement he’s 100% stating then they could be hit by refund requests. If he’s going, then I’d rather we sell a shitload of villa shirts first - rather than a bunch of baby fans know a few earlier? How on earth does it benefit any of us by knowing earlier? He’s either going to stay or go. Let’s see on the opening day of the season.
  20. I’m really not sure what you mean by this. He can’t leave without us agreeing to sell him. This means we must accept a bid that comes in for him. This is a bid that either meets our current valuation of him, or our valuation of him when he signed the new contract (in the form of a minimum fee release clause). These are the only two scenarios in which he can leave. Either way does not make him dishonest. The only other thing Jack Grealish can do to force a move is to lay down his tools and refuse to play. IF he does that, then that makes him a total prick. What he CAN’T do is say ‘I’m off to city. See ya.’ IF we are offering him a new contract then there are only two reasons we are doing so. 1) we recognise his value, and wish to reward him to keep him happy 2) there is a clause (for example a minimum fee release clause) that we want to remove, and in return for that we are offering a better salary. If it’s scenario 1, then we have nothing to worry about, if it’s scenario 2 then we’re in trouble.
