  1. If we stay up, he stays imo. Randy has already made it clear that he couldn't give a toss what the fans think...it would cost millions to sack McLeish (and his 'team')...millions that we dont have. Plus we already have a summer signing, I doubt Randy would sanction a transfer without being sure of keeping Eck.
  2. You think we'll only get 1 more point in the next 9 games?
  3. Shit! McLeish is staying then...oh well, welcome Brett.
  4. 95% safe now, if we beat Bolton we are 100% safe....and hopefully the players can relax and start enjoying the games again.
  5. We're not getting into Europe anytime soon anyway, so FFP rules are irrelevent to us.
  6. Talking Villa on Talksport now....VillaFansUnited are on at 4.20 ish
  7. Truly woeful figures. Just shows how reckless Randy was in trying to get top 4, and we're paying the price now and will be for quite a while I think.
  8. It's like asking if I prefer sick or spit the best....I went for Lerner (spit)...just!
  9. Any new manager that comes in now is in a no-lose situation. The only way is up (hopefully), ala MON at Sunderland. I'd like to think we'd be a good move for Lambert in his career.
  10. IF we do get rid of McLeish, then I'd be quite happy with Curbishley (God, how my expectations have dropped)...he certainly knew how to get the best out of Bent - 20+ goals a season in an avarage Charlton team. I bet Bent wouldn't be too disappointed to see Curbs here
  11. Houllier would definitely stayed as manager if it wasnt for his health scare...I've just got a terrible feeling that they will stick with McLeish no matter what
  12. I take your point, but MON arrived with about 10 days before the opening game against Arsenal and signed just 1 player (Petrov) and had a significantly weaker squad imo. McLeish had a full pre-season and spent nearly £20m in the summer (although I accept we sold 2 of our better players from last season too), with a stronger squad overall from the one MON inherited (plus a 20+ goal a season striker than MON never had).
  13. No, he needs to go before it's too late, but I'd be amazed if Randy admitted to his mistake - he doesn't have the balls.
  14. Just realised it's cost us £100m+ (including wages) to be in exactly the same position we were in 6 years ago...Randy might be a nice guy, but clearly hasn't got a clue when it comes to running a football club (including the Browns)
  15. Thats the first time Ive seen that and it made me laugh several times!!
  16. The only way to protest is to stop going to games and stop spending money on Villa. It's the only language they understand. I dread to think what the attendances will be next season if McLeish is still here.
  17. Randy is never at VP to watch it, so I don't suppose he's bothered if its tripe or not, as long as we stay up
  18. Someone posted a picture on Twitter showing about 20/30 people holding a few signs...not worthy of making the headlines, put it like that!
  19. I seriously hope that Randy doesn't try to 'buy' his way out of the Eck appointment in the summer, by giving him decent transfer funds. IMO McLeish at Villa will never work, he is on borrowed time, it's just a case of waiting until Randy realises this. The last thing we need is to give McLeish £20m+ to waste and be left in the same position we are currently in, in another 12/18 months.
  20. Is that based on anything? Or just gut feeling?
  21. WOW! At John Gregory's start...I remember it was good, but not that good!
  22. How do you know he hasn't? They aren't likely to put it on the official site are they!?
  23. One thing I don't get about Randy is his sudden change of policy. He hired Houllier to add some flair to us, so we started the transition with Makoun and Bent (and supposedly Cabaye last summer) to help us become a modern slick passing team. Then Houllier leaves, Randy decides we've got no money again and he gets another British 'long ball' manager. So we're left with surplus players (on high wages) from the previous regime to try and get rid of again....basically what I'm saying is that Randy is clueless!
  24. I want McLeish gone, but with Randy choosing his replacement, it fills me with dread because of who he'll come up with next.
