  1. ^^ He's made his name (in management) in England though, so why does his Scottish nationality affect his ability?
  2. He's going.....isn't he!? EVerything in the past 2/3 days is pointing to that....the nightmare is nearly over. Matt Kendrick seemed to think that he may go after the West Brom game because the atmosphere vs Spurs would be horrendous and not help the team.
  3. It's the results over a season that matter, not just a small selected period. Norwich have 0 'Premier League' players, yet they are comfortably in mid-table, with any other manager I'm certain they would have been relegated.
  4. Lambert would be awesome for us, I so hope this happens. 2 obvious highlights in his managerial career so far are guiding League 2 Wycombe to the League Cup semi-final (vs Chelsea) and back-back promotions with Norwich. Lambert is a winner, would probably out-grow us eventually but I'd be happy with that because it would mean that he's done a good job here.
  5. I've just donated too...probably won't work, but at least we can say we've tried!
  6. West Ham with Avram Grant (after he'd got Portsmouth relegated), and guess what....? They went down!
  7. No back-to-back wins all season, and we haven't 'doubled' anyone this season. We deserve to go down
  8. 7 wins in 35 games tells the whole story. A newly promoted team with no aspirations would be disappointed with that return. How he is still in a job in beyond belief...there is not one single thing to like about our club right now. I hate the manager, I hate the chairman, I don't particularly like any of our players either. How on earth have we ended up like this from almost qualifying for the champions league only TWO years ago?
  9. I honestly can't think of anyone deserving of our POTS award. I don't think the club should bother with one this season
  10. Maybe thats part of the problem....not good enough and not a big enough personality to be 'Mr Aston Villa'
  11. All good in theory, but how would we get Moyes to come here and have less to spend than he has at Everton this season?
  12. Strange choice of match for him to turn up for. I'd have thought he'd avoid MON like the plague...
  13. It's a great myth that is generally touted around. Apart from the obvious financial 'commitment', there was a period between mid-September and early November (around 6 weeks) where he wasn't present, presumably because he was otherwise occupied. Since then he has visited 9 times for periods of between 4 and 7 days. Included in there are a couple of side trips to Paris and Kabul. So our 'absentee owner' is quite a bit less 'absent' than many other owners in the league. Just delivering the facts.......... What on earth was he doing in Kabul!?
  14. McLeish surely can't last beyond the summer, so who do we realistically want as manager next season? Personally, the only realistic target for me would be Paul Lambert. Can work wonders with little funds, his teams give everything, every match...and he gets results. He has only managed 3 teams I think; Wycombe; got them to League Cup semi-final (when they were in League 2) and drew the first leg 0-0 with Mourinho's Chelsea Colchester; wasn't really there long enough to make an impact, but it was his side that beat Norwich 7-1 at Carrow Road on the opening day of the season Norwich; From mid table League 1 to top half Premier League in under 3 years
  15. We always sit back when we've got a 1-0 lead, why!? Our defence is poor at best, so why try and rely on it to see out games? I can't believe that Stoke away from home had 61% possession in the second half...just shows how bad we are.
  16. We should have enough of a gap now (7 points) to be ok this season...but I really fear for us next season if McLeish is in charge, especially when he's had more chance to 'stamp his authority on the team' *shudders*

The Bolton game should make grim reading...midweek against a team with virtually no away following, as low as 25,000 maybe?
  18. Man Utd - heavy defeat Sunderland - narrow defeat Bolton - nervy draw West Brom - narrow defeat Tottenham - draw Norwich - draw Yep, I think you're right!
  19. A couple of people on twitter have suggested that he might have fractured his skull, lets hope its not that serious.
  20. They won't do that (especially Kendrick) because they'll miss out on all their Villa exclusives. Villa have them wrapped around their little finger.
  21. Who would have thought 3 years ago, that today Mike Ashley is a shining light of a chairman, and Randy Lerner is the most inept chairman in the league...how times change
  22. Rubbish today...again. Doesn't look interested right now, maybe a move to Sunderland would be best all round.
  23. Summed him up really when he burst through....then pass it straight to a Stoke defender and fell over.
