  1. Leeds supporting mate text saying Gnonto wants to stay in UK not go back to Italy (apparently most Leeds sales thus far have been outside UK).

    Tyler Adams

Buddy of mine who's a leeds fan said he was incredible for them and was a huge loss when he got injured.
  3. It's all part of a salary, simply put payments to players would be capped. Maybe they can pay their wives.
  4. The NBA have radically changed their rules on the back of the spending of the Warriors and Clippers. The NBA has a soft cap, after a certain point once your salary is over the cap you are into the luxury tax but it does have various exemptions. The teams over pay different luxury taxes depending on the number of consecutive years they are in the luxury tax, if you're say 10m over and its your first year you pay 20% tax on that 10m i.e. another 2m. This tax money from all the teams over is divided by the teams not in the luxury tax, so it pays to be under the tax. Where you are over 3 years or more in a row you must pay 50% tax on the overage. The new collective bargaining agreement has brought in strict rules for teams over the luxury tax, they are no longer allowed trade picks more than 7 years away and also can't take back more money in a trade (currently salaries in trades need to be within 125% for the trade to go through unless a team can absorb the salary via cap space). This means significant less flexibility for teams over the cap long term. However, the most important point is that the new cba has also brought in bands to the luxury tax and with each band having a higher rate of tax for each $ you venture further into the tax. I believe the Warriors are looking at $350m odd this season between salary and tax but with the new figures would be looking at something just under $500m. That is a significant increase and when you add in the trade restrictions, it is going to make life very tough for the warriors in Steph's twilight years. It's hard to see a situation where teams will agree to allow any restriction on teams over being able to acquire players as it ultimately weakens the league. Teams also need to limit their wages to 70% of income for UEFA competitions. I can't see how a soft cap situation would work in the Premier League. If it is a situation where there is a hard cap for player salaries of say 3 times the lowest teams tv rights, that could make the league far more competitive which you would hope would only help viewing figures, but will it ultimately lead to a Saudi super league ala Liv in the golf?
  5. I think Denver put up 130 in game 1.
  6. Jesus I dont know, they've had a week off while Heat had 3 games that mentally would have taken a lot out of them, Butler's legs don't look the same as Round 1, add in the altitude, I can't see this going beyond 5.
  7. Oh yeah I just think it’s not the end of the world if we don’t get Europe in fact in might be a blessing in disguise. Big Sam coming in is a shock.
  8. Right here with you, one of my buddies is a leeds fan and I'm as equally invested in them getting relegated as us getting europe.
  9. I’m not actually paying it but I’ve had to pay €20 to get into local club gaa matches, we played newcastle west there earlier this year and they’d one guy at least 3.5 stone overweight and I’m being nice there. Is it £38 a match for a season ticket? I’d easily pay that to watch villa at the moment. In fact I’ve had to pay 10 times that for an FA cup final ticket only to see arsenal hockey us. With the demand (waiting list) and us hoping to challenge for top 4 with a top manager I think it’s justified. I’m sure it’s stinging for people with cost of living etc. I do think, we will see this money on the pitch though. The owners have what put in 300m plus of their own cash.
  10. I see Ben Foster was wearing a chest cam for the game Saturday? Had never seen one of these used in a match before.
  11. Hope we get this done as early as possible.
  12. Spotrac have Olsen on £80k a week, we bought him for £3m I would say he's probably on £30k a week.
  13. A buddy of mine wants United to sign Maddison and because of that I've been watching him very closely recent, I must say he's either phoning it in or is just done. I wouldnt go near him personally.
  14. We should be looking for players who are at clubs with bad managers, we can then exploit the value when Emery improves them.
  15. That's why I think Newcastle (especially if they get CL). No way Levy lets him walk for free, he's going to cash in on him and there's very few potential suitors it would appear.
  16. What does Kane do? Contract up next season, does he ask for a transfer or hold tough to potentially earn far more. Serious lack of ambition if he does sign a new deal there. Does Levy take the chance that he could walk for free? Who wants to buy him? City no way, maybe United? I think if Newcastle get Champions League they splash the Saudi money on Kane.
  17. Yeah I’m saying if Unai got those games instead it would probably be closer to 70% than 0.7%.
  18. Insane to think where we would be if Gerrard didn’t get 6 of these 7 games in charge.
  19. Under Gerrard this team looked like 11 individuals who had never played together. I genuinely felt like each player was spinning a wheel in their head on receiving the ball and either pass, hoof, run, shoot, etc under Gerrard. The style of play was just totally random. Right now there is a huge togetherness in this team. We are winning together and losing together. Even little things like how quickly players are over to pick one and other up off the ground after a tackle. It’s not the finished article yet but the improvement is mind blowing. We weren’t totally at it tonight, the exertions from Saturday obviously had an effect but we still got a win, I think leicester would have won that under the previous manager. Another thing all the players seem genuinely delighted for Bert, again showing how together we are. It’s down to one man and one man only.
  20. I'll never forget that game, my now wife, then girlfriend was moving to Portlaoise, we watched it in some hotel/bar having a bite. I was waiting on Villa +1 goal for a nice accum, when we went 2-0 up my bet was pretty much good but I could cash out for about €5 less than the full amount (they still needed 3 goals in about 10mins for me to lose), I very rarely cash out a bet but I said to her we are going to lose this game and took the money and ran. Genuinely believe if we won that game we'd have stayed up and they wouldnt have won the league.
  21. Don’t understand why clubs don’t do this more, (send two players on loan together) surely makes it easier having a familiar face around.
  22. Were they the only 2 clips they could find I wonder?
  23. Does Dignes not look a bit low at £2.8m per year considering we paid £25m for him.
