  1. Pardon my ignorance...but if Xia gets Recon or Lotus Group to give Villa 40 million for naming rights of VP. Isnt this problem solved?
  2. Amavi wont count i dont think. Rename Villa Park to Recon Park for 20 million. Problem solved. Rename it for 35 million and we have 15 million to spend ;). Easy!
  3. Gabby Terry Hutton Bunn etc wages off already is a saving. Sale of Gil, Hogan, Whelan etc and a few others plus renaming Villa Park should get us over the line.
  4. Werent we signing that Sheffield youngster Sean Clare.
  5. Not including players off contract or loan players. This what we have left. Strongest side: --------------------Kodjia-------------------- Green------------------------------Adomah ------------------Grealish---------------------- --------Hourihane--------Jedinak--------- De Laet----Chester---Elphick---Elmo ------------------Steer----------------------- Depth side: ---------------------Hogan-------------------- Bjarnason-----------------------------RHM ---------------------O'Hare---------------------- --------Lansbury---------Whelan----------- Taylor----Suliman?---Clark?---Bree ------------------Gollini----------------------- Left over: Doyle Hayes, Lyden, Davis, McCormack, Richards plus any other youngsters Released: Hutton, Terry, Gabby, Samba, Bunn Wilderness: Richards, McCormack, Tshibola, (at least we are down to three here.. bye Gabby) Potential Sales: Gollini (most likely back to Italy), Whelan (back to Stoke?), Gardner (forest?) Hogan (maybe Leeds or Forest), McCormack (with any luck - anywhere), Elphick (perm at reading), Grealish (only top 6 club) and Kodjia (unlikely). Potential Buys: New keeper, new CB and back up if Elphick goes, new striker (Abel Hernandez finally.. hes on a free?), Woods from Brentford? Tuanzebe on loan again (play him at CB) I think Jack will stay. Its not a world cup year or euro year. Whats the point of moving to a club thats not in the top 6. They have just as much chance of being in the championship the season after. Big clubs wont come in for him until he proves it in the big league. He is only 22. I reckon one more year to get us up.. if not then he will go. Kodjia after two seasons out with injury and hes almost 30 with no premier league experience. I dont think anyone will come in for him. We dont look too bad. We will need to bring in 3-4 loans again from the premier league. 1-2 free signings. We will challenge again imo.
  6. Theres no world cup or euros at the end of the next season. Hes 22. I think he will stay one more year. If he is adamant on leaving.. then maybe a loan to an Premier League club would be best. Get a small fee and let him get Premier League experience. Hopefully somehow we get promoted and he can come home. But i think he will stay one more year.

Chelsea signing Traore for the rumoured 30 mil would be quite handy! Doubt it will happen though. RHM must be a start next season. We need to give him a run of games. Dont give me this hes too young rubbish. Look at Sessegnon. RHM is faster.. has a better finish and is a more solid build. His injuries are what are holding him back. He is ready. I would play him through the middle with Green outwide and Kodjia/Adomah. Central midfield is where we need to invest or get some one on loan. A better version of Onomah ideally. CB is another area where we cannot gamble with youth. Especially if Chester goes. I imagine Elphick will get a run or at least be back up.
  8. Yep. I still dont think hes all that. Most our clean sheets were because the opposition barely had a shot on target. When he was called upon like the Final.. he got beat. I think he will be a great keeper.. but i think we can find one or two keepers on the cheap that are good enough.
  9. Its a rebuild.. then a rebuild requires a new manager. Bruce had his chance.. rebuilt the side and its an aging side and our best players were on loan. We have a very good youth side.. if Bruce is willing to back 2-3 of the better ones like RHM Green Doyle Hayes Lyden etc then maybe hes worth staying.. especially if he can convince Terry/Grealish/Chester to stay.
  10. I wouldnt mind Dean Smith. Personally, i would offer John Terry the job. Demands respect. Plenty of professional experience. He would have learnt off the best managers in the world. Has a great relationship with Jack.. who i think he can persuade to stay one more year. He also has great contacts at Chelsea who he can loan one or two of their best players (which they have plenty of!) Regardless of who it is.. i think it is integral they start building our sides with the likes of Hepburn Murphy O'Hare. They need to be involved.. and not just when we are down to the bare bones. Green is another who should get plenty of matches if hes fit. Doyle Hayes needs a run of games. Theres no point signing Whelan and Jedinak type players.. who even if we went up we would need to replace them. Lets give these youngsters a run and see what they can do. CB - we dont appear to have any good prospects.. i believe Suliman is suppose to be good but wasnt good on any of his loans. CB's develop alot later. We may need to put whatever funds we have into replacing JT. Kodjia - i dont think he will leave. Barely played.. big injuries almost 30. Nobody will touch him imo. Grealish - big big move for him. Hes only 22 and no euros or world cup in the following end of season.. he may just stay one more season i think. Chester - i think he will leave sadly. GK - Shrewsbury keeper would be nice.
  11. He works that hard all the time. I am glad people are starting to take notice. His job was to shut down Traore. Yes Hutton did a great job on him but Mile and Hourihane took turns covering Hutton and doubling up on Traore. Needs to be back on set pieces. Snoddys have been awful lately.
  12. I would celebrate like that too if my investment doubled in value (90 min away from it anyway..) but in all seriousness.. fair play to the guy.. we could easily be Sunderland. He has saved this club.
  13. Keep Grabban up top. Kodjia is not fit yet. He needs a good pre season. He is a fantastic option off the bench with 30 to go. He can really change a game. I dont think Grabban or Hogan can have that impact. I saw on youtube. Some one filming behind the players warming up.. most players looked on when we had a chance.. but Kodjia jumps up thinking we scored to celebrate. Hes really into it. Just something i noticed that impressed me!

    Mile Jedinak

Wouldnt like to be Bruce picking the side. Safe is to keep it unchanged which is probably what i would do. But for something different. Would it be worth dropping Adomah (i really dont want to!) and playing Bikir/Whelan with Hourihane and Mile just for the extra legs. Move Grealish wide left or play him and Snoddy narrow just behind Grabban.

    John Terry

haha you can see we were burnt by previous situations. Credit to Bruce he brought in proper pro's. JT.. i take it all back. You have been magnificent for this club on and off the pitch. I just hope we get to see him lifting the trophy to cap the season off.
  16. Credit to you for putting yourself through that again! Horrid game! Good atmosphere though! Bruce deserves credit.. i sitll dont think hes the man to take us forward if we are promoted. But credit to him for turning this club around. JT has been a huge influence in the attitude and training of the players and JT himself credits Bruce for getting him to VP. I just hope we can get promoted so he can get the credit he deserves. I think we under estimate how bad of a state this club was in.

    Alan Hutton

Who is this bloke? really kicked on this season.. the Scottish Cafu and support/love from the fans has given him another leg! Deserves a new deal. Never thought id say that. (1 year deal.....)
  18. doesnt work like that. Sometimes your inner self belief can only change by what you do or what you think. Not what others think about you. He and Snoddy are due big games.. leave the best for last. He will score in the final.
  19. He is finally realising there is more to it than just attacking. His work ethic and fitness has improved tenfolds since he has returned from injury. Credit to the lad. When he plays like that.. there is less pressure to create on him as hes putting in a shift as well. Whereas before we needed him to create as he was just a passenger if he didnt. Fair play. Credit to Steve Bruce and John Terry and all the coaching staff and senior players. Really really had an effect on him and other players too likely. Terry imp articular.. wow. the way he treats him.. its like his own son. Arm around the shoulder. You could see Jack looks upto him.
  20. I think thats what Bruce has in mind. Just because we are at home doesnt mean we are going to win. Go out there and win away. I agree if we sit back.. Adama will kill us eventually. Bad plan.
  21. From what i gathered from the press conference. We will sit back and contain them and try to 'remain' in the fixture by the time we goto Villa Park. He believes 40% of their goals are from set pieces. Our experience is vital. Whelan and Jedinak will both start with Grealish ahead of them.
  22. Traore missed 1 game or got sent off in the other didnt he? he is the danger man
  23. Just push gently. Try reading a magazine. You'll get there mate
  24. Huge game. Cant wait. Be nice to see us turn up in the big matches and not bottle it. Boro will be tough over two legs. Traore Downing Gestede will all be extra pumped for this one.
  25. Picks itself i think. Boro arent a big side.. their strength is their speed and mobility in midfield. If Bikir is fit i would play him but hes in doubt. I have a sneaky suspicion that Bruce will play Mile and Whelan in the first leg with Grealish. ----------------------------Johnstone------------------------- Elmohamady------Terry------Chester-------Hutton ----------------------Whelan-----------Hourihane---------- ------------------------------Grealish--------------------------- Snodgrass--------------------------------------Adomah -----------------------------Grabban-------------------------- Potential Sub changes: Kodjia on for Adomah - Grabban central and Kodjia wide left. Onomah for Whelan - give us more impedus if we are behind... or if we are ahead Mile for Hourihane to shut the game down. Kodjia is not ready to start and i think hes been his best when hes come off the bench against tiring players. Gave us a spark. Hogan has been awful.. i would even have RHM ahead of him. Adomah against his former club.. i think he will be up for it. He will also help out Hutton contain Traore who has speed. Kodjia will just leave Hutton all alone. We also have a not so secret weapon. Agnew. He will know Boro inside out.
