When we lost (unfairly) to southampton, I thought we were doomed to relegation. Coupled with the cup exits it was a bleak period. But in fairness they have bounced back.

Its been such a up and down season and we got far to close to going down- I just hope we use this as good experience and push on now. We have had 2 bad seasons in a row now, I dont want to accept a 3rd. But lets just enjoy tonight and Wigan first, before planning for next season.

I would be delighted with a safe mid table next year please Paul. My underwear cant cope with a repeat of this season. UTV.

Just been having a cheeky look at some of the Arsenal messageboards. They have even less confidence in their side than us! Never mind the fact that they are one of the top teams in the league. I think they have been fairly solid in the last few months, winning games by the odd goal,and quite tough at the back. So I dont see this being a 3-0 4-0 easy street match then.They should be fresher, and better than Wigan. On a normal matchday you wouldnt even think Wigan can win. But after their Wembley truimph, gulp.

Season Ticket holder this season, but probably not renewing next season. I would say for the last 4-5 seasons I would be going to villa at least 10-15 times a season. No other sport moves me like football. Its mad and frustrating, but when you get the occasional night like Sunderland, its magic. I do watch other games and watch a local lower league team as well. I think fans do come and go to their team due to the ebb and flow of life. I treat them all the same- its like a huge revolving cast of people. Some come and go. Other stay for longer. But they all care deeply about the Villa.

Right less than 24 hours to go. Either there will be some very relaxed and happy villa fans afterwards or QVC will be getting record viewing figures in its graveyard slot in Birmingham.We just have to have faith that Arsenal will show their class and avoid defeat. They really need a win so I expect goals. Hopefully a lot of Arsenal ones. I have always liked Wenger and Arsenal and have never had a cheap dig at their corporate soulless bowl of a stadium, honest.

Too young, too naive, and not enough protection from the midfield. You have little faith that the back four can close a game out. Too much pressure on Vlar- the bloke is made captain and asked to run a kindergarden all in his first season in England. Lambert seems to like a 3 man mid which can be quite narrow, which does not protect the full backs much- which is one reason why Bennett has struggled in most games. I think at the moment its just bad, wheras over christmas it was comical. So its getting better I think.

If think if we stay up I am about 60-70% sure he will stay at Villa for a while. He is enjoying his football, he wil get a big fat contract at Villa and he will be first choice at the team going into the 2014 world cup. Obviously if he has a simliar season again then it will be hard to keep him for long at Villa.

Personally bar the small heath games I think Villa should try and become one of the most away fan friendly clubs in the country. Its basically free money to have a larger allocation, considering how few times we sell out. Villa is near most clubs, and should be marketed like Fulham as a nice away day. A bigger away following creates a better atmosphere and more money, as long as the police are happy with it.

How could they lose 4-0 to Norwich? They have been awful for months and cant score. Hopefully we will batter them next season.

I thought he might have done a little speech after the game, as the support he has had from the Villa fans has been great if you take into account how crap we have been for most of the year. How do you think Paul will watch the Arsenal game? Glass of red? Tea? With his friend Johnnie Walker? Tennents?

Argee with most of the posters. Looking like another good Lambert signing- but if any of the 3 midfielders could chip in with a few goals, it would take a lot of pressure off the front 3.

I was within the reasonable grounds of fan reaction of a really important goal for them and Fat Frank breaking the record.They werent looking for trouble or anything, they just got a bit carried away, bless those loveable headhunters. On another issue I think the general ticket pricing for all away fans in this country is a total disgrace. £45 to see Norwich?! Mental.

I am between oscillating moods of calm lucid thoughts of we are nearly certain to stay up, and paralysing thoughts of dread that everything will go horribly wrong and we will blow it. Psychologists would have a field day on relegation threatened football fans. It really doesn’t mean anything, but it feels like it means everything.

How much will bentenke getting sent off and us not getting a draw yeterday will cost us?! Aarrgh this season has been a ruddy nightmare.

Thank you west brom. My hot tip of norwich going down is total nonsense then. I think it just goes to show how shite the Premier League is this year if the olbion can still get a top 10 place and they have been fairly awful for about half a season. Arsenal please help us out!
