  1. Murray is okay, but I think about a hour a week of him on Fighting Talk is about enough frankly. Mind you I would have him over 'chappers'. What has happen to BBC Sport? Its declined into a bunch of fawning, cheesy, blokes around the golf club bunch, bland shite. Coleman, Davies, Butler, Jones. Professionals. Coleman left when BBC Sport was separated from BBC News, and you can correlate the drop off. It helps to have some professonal training when doing your job, like being able to speak and make sense. Which Savage and Lowro often fail to do.
  2. Too much too young. Football's equivalent to Michael Jackson. Without the plastic surgery and court cases. I just can't wait for him on MOTD next season, he will be so interesting. Then along with Shearer and Lineker they can all makes jokes about scoring goals. Oh the humanity.
  3. How crap is this england squad? Deeply average. Why is Defoe in the team when he has been rubbish this season? Joleon Lescott? Its a sad statement that the best player in that squad is a 34 year old.
  4. Probably not no. If I was a Norwich fan I would be worried. As the championship has been of varying quality this year, I would guess Hull and the playoff winner would be favourites to go down. Cardiff if they keep Mackay and spend a bit might be okay. Swansea might struggle with the extra games. Stoke we can only hope they will drop. As for Sunderland they could come in the top 10 or come 20th, I have no idea. As long as Villa come mid table, I dont really care!
  5. I mean why he is still in a job? Why? He must have photos, recordings, and the receipt of where they bought the equipment, to be still in paid employment. Even liverpool fans in their 40s must think its time for him to move to Talksport.
  6. He is still here? Still it was a cheap punt that didnt work out. Like Andy Carroll.
  7. I wonder if all this extra money will go to cheaper tickets, subsided travel for fans, youth development, and better stadia? Or to agents, hangers-on, deeply average footballers and bigger manager compensation deals? Hmmmn. On another note, due to the silly money on offer even to finish a few places higher the table, gone is the old traditional fashion of blooding youngsters in the last few games of the season. This is a real shame. Shout out to Crewe though who played a youth XI in their last game this year- and won.
  8. I get the impression Lawro doesnt like life. He is like a black hole of relentless negativity- sucking up any joy, exictement, or originality within a 20 miles radius of his ageing, sagging, grey body.
  9. Urgh. Another flukey Cheski win. They seem to be morphing into Manure in front of my very eyes. As soon as I saw JT celebrating with the 'lads' I had to turn off the telly in disgust.
  10. Still feeling nice and relaxed from yesterday! I just hope this proves this isnt another false dawn. I dont want to see us scrabbling around 18th in the table in January ever again. For the first time in a long time it feels like Villa have a plan, have continuity, and have optimism. Please don't mess this one up.
  11. Fair play to both clubs. Not the full allocation, but I am sure these will be snapped up!
  12. I would love it if they give us the whole end but how can the club sell 2,000 tickets and send them in the post in 2 days? I dont think its going to happen. Shame.
  13. Spot on pal. I am sooo exicted about Westwood. He really does look the business and looks eager to learn. What a signing. From league two to a regular starter in the prem in a year, and at 23 years of age. Future captain material methinks. Night all-and what a night!
  14. I just hope we have some sort of consistency next season. It could be a reverse of this term- start of like a train, be around 7-9th at Xmas, everyone gets exicted, we fall apart and come 15th. It would be daft to expect amazing free flowing football every game and a watertight defence, but as long as we carry on making the right steps in tactics, in players, and in self-belief, then the future looks quite postive. I havent said that probably since O'Neill's 2nd season.
  15. All of Reading's players are not good enough. Wigan's are a bit meh- I mean we have already tried with Maloney,, and their defence is even worse than ours. Arry says the QPR team isnt good enough for the championship, so probably not. At a pinch Hoilett could maybe be rescused from the shambles at Loftus Road. I still think there is a decent footballer in there. Other than that, not that tempted.
  16. Its free money for them. I mean when is the next time they are going to get anywhere near a sell out at the Dave Whelan/JJB/Wigan Casino stadium?
  17. Well done Paul, you kept us up. Now just get a couple of old heads and build for next year. We are all right behind you. Paul Lamberts Claret and Blue Army!
  18. When we lost (unfairly) to southampton, I thought we were doomed to relegation. Coupled with the cup exits it was a bleak period. But in fairness they have bounced back.
  19. Its been such a up and down season and we got far to close to going down- I just hope we use this as good experience and push on now. We have had 2 bad seasons in a row now, I dont want to accept a 3rd. But lets just enjoy tonight and Wigan first, before planning for next season.
  20. I would be delighted with a safe mid table next year please Paul. My underwear cant cope with a repeat of this season. UTV.
  21. Jurassic Park. What a relief. 8 months of worry I couldnt face it lasting til Sunday. Bye Wigan, enjoy your 55 game season without your manager.
  22. Getting clammy hands already about this. Its like a interview or something. Just get it over with please arsenal!
  23. Just been having a cheeky look at some of the Arsenal messageboards. They have even less confidence in their side than us! Never mind the fact that they are one of the top teams in the league. I think they have been fairly solid in the last few months, winning games by the odd goal, and quite tough at the back. So I dont see this being a 3-0 4-0 easy street match then. They should be fresher, and better than Wigan. On a normal matchday you wouldnt even think Wigan can win. But after their Wembley truimph, gulp.
  24. Season Ticket holder this season, but probably not renewing next season. I would say for the last 4-5 seasons I would be going to villa at least 10-15 times a season. No other sport moves me like football. Its mad and frustrating, but when you get the occasional night like Sunderland, its magic. I do watch other games and watch a local lower league team as well. I think fans do come and go to their team due to the ebb and flow of life. I treat them all the same- its like a huge revolving cast of people. Some come and go. Other stay for longer. But they all care deeply about the Villa.
  25. Right less than 24 hours to go. Either there will be some very relaxed and happy villa fans afterwards or QVC will be getting record viewing figures in its graveyard slot in Birmingham. We just have to have faith that Arsenal will show their class and avoid defeat. They really need a win so I expect goals. Hopefully a lot of Arsenal ones. I have always liked Wenger and Arsenal and have never had a cheap dig at their corporate soulless bowl of a stadium, honest.
