  1. Also, did some DLs today (122.5kg) and an old guy at the gym walked past and the convo went as follows; Him: Hope you're not lifting that above your head. Me: Ha, nah. Not yet anyway! H: What weight is it? M: 122.5kg H: What's that in pounds? 250? M: Nearly 270 I think. H: Hmm.. Nice. Once I did the 5 reps I glanced across and he gave me a thumbs up. Felt good being praised
  2. Well, after being back at the gym for a while and getting back into my groove and progressing well I've now worked out my new aims based on my current bodyweight (93kg). Squat 140kg x5 Deadlift 167.5kg x5 Bench 85kg x5 OHP 52.5kg x5 DB Bench 35kg x5 DB OHP 24kg x5 I'm hoping to work my ass off 3 times a week slowly adding weight to my current lifts to reach these before New Year. 9 weeks, 3 times a week, that's 27 workouts. Let's do this! (I realised it's probably a little ambitious, but if I can hit 1-3 reps of the majority rather than the 5 I'll count that as awesome progress).
  3. He's a legend. Not the cheapest, but I'll happily pay a little extra to pick it up on my lunch time a day or two early.
  4. I've had offers of 15m and they haven't gone over my head to sell him. Odd.
  5. £60k per week, bumped up to £70k after 10 international appearances. I just did that on FM so it must relate to real life. Put a goal bonus and relegation release clause of £5m in there to be sure.
  6. If I was single I'd so be blowing my wages on a PS4 and this game.
  7. Slowly but surely progressing back up to where I used to be. With the exception of the day I fancied seeing what I could lift as a max I've stuck to the 5x5 routine. 90kg 5x5 squat 60kg 5x5 bench 40kg 5x5 rows 40kg 5x5 OHP 115kg 1x5 deadlift At the moment. Beginning to see my muscles coming back which is nice
  8. Also started my Villa career. Scuffet, Byram, Tielemans, Will Hughes, Adnan purchased and Janzuaj on loan for the season. Sold Hutton, Kozak, Guzan, Bent and Stevens so far.
  9. Just created my be a pro career. Playing CM, started with Shrewsbury. I'm expected to average an 8.5 rating for the season, and assist/score 30 goals. Dayum, Shrewsbury have some high expectations for a 17 year old.
  10. Do we actually pose any attacking threat at all without this man in the line up?
  11. Just picked this up from my man Neil in Old Hill. £37.00. He told me he had a lad in first thing this morning who brought the game, and also spent £230.00 on I'm assuming UT point cards
  12. No need for supplements my good man. See a homoeopath and get some remedies down ya neck.
  13. Totally not with it this morning. Set my weights up for squats and as soon as I picked the weight up I thought "this seems well heavy". Being ill over the weekend I figured I was just still a little weak so did the 5 reps and racked up. Noticed I'd put an extra 20kg on the barbell and not taken the bar weight into consideration! D'oh.
  14. Let me just say, strength training isn't about getting massive either. It's building core strength and getting you in good shape. I'm not looking to get massive, but gaining strength and improving my fitness and body shape is where it's at. Yes, I will probably put a fair bit of muscle on doing what I'm doing, but not body building size.
  15. Nothing wrong with a routine as long as you aren't stagnant with it. Always look to increase your weights each time, even by as little as 2.5kg. It's the StrongLifts way. You'll be hitting PBs fairly regularly which in turn gives you a confidence boost. It's when you're doing the same weight, same exercise, same order every week without progressing where people lose focus and end up quitting the gym.
  16. Smashed it this morning. Getting back into my groove now, and dare I say, my muscles are remembering their potential 5x5 82.5kg squat 5x5 35kg OHP 1x5 112.5kg DL Then for fun at the end 3x 80kg bench I'm quite enjoying these early morning fasted workouts. Hungry now though.
  17. Even just sitting on the bench Joe Cole looks winded.
  18. Happy with this. Glad of the stability if nothing else. For too long we've been on a manger merry go-round, and people wondered why we were inconsistent. Keeping PL here with the pieces he's put in place will be good for the club.
  19. It's at the point now where if they score and we only come away with one point I'll be disappointed
