  1. I think he gives the defensive stability you don't get from Bailey. I'd be starting him every week while we don't have Konsa. Cash was completely over ran on the right.
  2. You also need to factor the wage increase. A few million a year more is still. A few million a year more. We cant afford to bloat the wage bill either. I wouldn't consider a new contract for Buendia
  3. I was really disappointed in Bailey, I don't know where he was supposed to be. Cash was getting over run against Chilwell and Jackson and he didnt ever appear to help. They really do not play well together
  4. Yeah I was screaming at the time, go round him. That or follow your own shot in.
  5. One thing that is rarely commented on is how two footed he is. He seems to take similar amounts of chances with his left and right.
  6. Just made a similar comment on another thread but you could draw parallels with our pursuit of Rogers. We all do it.
  7. I wouldn't worry, you're reading an article from an agent. If you read any article from anyone elses agent you'd see similar. It's also unfortunately is honest and reflects the football pyramid. Morgan Rogers made a few similar sounding comments in the week.
  8. I assume it's because those fans wanted to see us be ruthless. To be honest though that was a very mature performance From Unai. At five nil we got the team to step back. Conserve energy, no risk to injury, be ready to go again. Ollie Watkins at the end had barely broken sweat.
  9. While I'd also love to see a battering. I do get it. No need to risk injuries, no need to use energy pointlessly. The game is over, the smart thing to do is coast to the end.
  10. I'll be honest, I was thinking he'd been unbelievable and hasn't got out of second gear
  11. I wonder if he was already off to Plymouth before be brought him, maybe that's why the deal happened so quickly. Odd for this deal to wait for deadline day.
  12. Thanks mate, this has saved me an hour wait in the phone queue. Once I'd selected my seats, I could click edit seats and change the type to an under 18. Virtual pint to you.
  13. I hope so as well. But an unlinked youngster coming in with no acknowledgement reminds me of Azaz. No mention from Unai and probably straight out on loan, wondered if it could be another signing they think they can turn a profit on.
  14. Jokes aside he could be the new Finn Azaz. Rated youngster who we make a profit on and loan out.
  15. Went to pay for mine and sons tickets, he's got an under 14s season ticket but turned 14 this month. As a result it won't let me allocate him his under 14 ticket, it also won't let me change it for any other type. Guess I'll be joining the phone queue in the morning
  16. hopefully they went, this one is definitely, definitely the final offer.
  17. So does that mean it wasn't our third and final offer. I never understand why people use the phrase "final" when negotiating. It's basically bollox
  18. already happening. This is the nottingham forest problem. Brentford big 30m for Brennan Johnson on the last day of May. We later went to Spuds for 40m. Forest are now in trouble as a result, it left them with an FFP deficit for the reporting period.
  19. I thought MON was right to sell Cahill. 5m for a youth player who hadn't looked that good plus we'd just signed Zat Knight
  20. I thought he had a tough game againdt sterling but that's to be expected, he certainly helped us look sharper going forwards. I'd much rather see him there and konsa in the middle.
  21. I think it's more likely that due to the injury to Pau, the club realised how important lenglet was which is why they wouldn't let him leave. I don't believe he had any sort of recall option which is why we had so much noise about clubs contacting villa.
  22. With your body moor example, yes I assume that would count as income. A good example is villa park is used for trade shows and exhibitions in the holte suite. This rental income is also allowable income for the club. Unfortunately we're just not as good at this as others. I understand your point about football income, but the rules are about sustainability, not about making everything a level playing field for each club.
  23. What have BK8 got to do with football? Weve got 14 brand sponsors, not really anything to do with football. FFP isnt about football, its about turning the football clubs into sustainable business'. If a business can earn an income, and that income generates a profit that its helping the club become more sustainable. When fans do stadium tours, thats an income. When villa park held a concert for Pink, thats an income.
  24. by that stretch, you would also exclude shirt sales, programs (are they still a thing), food at the game, etc, etc. Commercial sponsors, what are they really and why should a name on a shirt allow you to gain money. If the club owns a stadium and chooses to rent out that stadium then that is income. When we sold the stadium to another company setup by NSWE, we were happy to take that as income and use it to purchase players. Feels like were picking and choosing our rules here.
  25. a few things happened: a number of rules were changed, covid losses were removed (which clubs were probably using to mask problems), the clubs agreed to resolve issues in the same financial year and Everton received a 10 point deduction. The latter i believe has woken a lot of clubs up to the fact that this is serious and cannot simply be kicked down the road.
