  1. not sure i agree, were seem to score a large percentage of set piece goals and also let in a lot. This means it cant be all about height. I think its about organisation and reaction. I cant recall many weve lost to direct headers against the biggest man on the pitch, its always a knock down and losing the 2nd/3rd ball.
  2. Does anyone know which twitter handle or email address i use if i want to reallocate my seats? Thanks in advance.
  3. I think the bright future is all relative. I don't see us becoming one of the established elite, I do think we have the ability to present a challenge in future seasons alongside Newcastle, West ham, spurs. The biggest concern I have for our future is how we cope post Unai and what comes next.
  4. Odd, my biggest frustration with Rodgers has been how long he holds on to the ball.
  5. Looking really poor, west ham don't really need to do anything do they
  6. I hope he is going to let the shackles off and go for it, what's the point in a defensive formation, we don't have the players to match them at the moment. Let's just outscored them instead
  7. The problem is digne and Carlos have both featured significantly so would need good quality replacements. You also need to find someone to match their wages. (include Coutinho here) And you will likely make a loss on all these players who came in for quite big money. I can't really see how our position will be helped here.
  8. I don't think the commercial whoring of Premier league football clubs can be blamed on ffp. It was comfortably hear before it. Any system that protects the club and secures it future is a good one for me. I'd prefer us to be sustainable.
  9. But revenues have also sky rocketed. Look at the TV deal the vs now, look at the change in ticket prices. Personally I don't want us losing more money than that over a 3 year period. PSR is a good thing for football in my opinion. I want my club to be hear in the future
  10. If not Ramsey I'd bring in Tim and push Mcginn forwards. I think we need to give him a chance at some point in the centre and it seems a good opportunity
  11. Im not convinced you get enough money for Emi or Mcginn.
  12. That room is where I get my VAR updates. Ten thousand of us watch that telly when it's a televised game. Ridiculous that's this is the match going fans best way of understanding whats going on.
  13. Agree it's a lot of effort for not a lot of margin but as a football club we only have so many revenue streams. The poor quality food and poor customer service also create a poor impression of the ground and the overall experience. Make these better and you can start to charge more of a premium on tickets. This is the model we're already seeing the club adopt but it's currently all or nothing, poor food or hospitality. For me it's clear the club has room for something in the middle and if don't right that represents income.
  14. my favourite bit of VT is our ability to all jump onto a grainy image in the absence of actual news. And i mean this sincerely, takes me back to the pallet gate days, the number of chairs at a press conference. Also, i think that is Ramsey not Rodgers. Though it also looks like hes wearing a snood and Moreno likes one of those
  15. unless you can get a premium offering for food. If you go to the fan zone the average price point for a meal is probably a tenner, costs I admit are higher but so are the margins. I know its mentioned often but the Spurs stadium has a wide array of food types at a premium price with excellent customer service. This should be the target.
  16. I dont think hes planned as a replacement for anyone tbh. I think he may have some potential to be great, or he may even become a squad player. This is ok. This January we seemed to spend c12-15m across 4 or so players. Previous windows has seen us spend the same amount of money on a Dendonker. If one of those 4 becomes a bench player that comes off the bench 10 times a season and starts 4 games then were at worst in the same position. If we can sell someone on for a profit or turn one of these into a starter then we are starting to talk about a good transfer strategy. The only risk is if the same money was needed to improve the first 11.
  17. everyone is always under investigation. You submit your accounts, you say whether you are compliant with PSR, we wait for the premier league to agree/disagree. If youve made a big profit in your accounts, youd expect the same from a psr perspective. If you've lost a lot, expect some scrutiny. Id expect us to be running close, the owners are trying to squeeze every last penny out. If we'd made a big profit, we would probably all be wondering why we hadnt seen that money invested.
  18. not possible that they can limit it to top 6 clubs and a few outside. It wouldnt surprise me to see something implemented that allows owners to burn their own cash as long as they secure the finances of the club. I wonder how long it is before third party ownership is also suggested like we see in other countries. Companies can bear some of the player cost in exchange for a slice of the profits.
  19. English teams that have qualified for the UCL in each of the last 4 seasons...Manchester City. A very tough ask for us.
  20. im not 100% sure what full strength is, i full expect us to play 11 of the 14/15 that typically play though. My guess is we will see Pau but not Konsa (given he was a late decision to play at the weekend, 2 game in 6 days for Konsa would be a surprise). I dont think we'll see Ramsey if he hobbled off. I think we might see Tim in his place with Mcginn playing off the left or Diaby. I think we'll see Digne.
  21. What stood out for me was I thought he was having a shocker and had several discussion about subbing him off if it was upto me
  22. You can list for resale, but the tickets can only be sold once the entire stadium is sold out. As a result virtually no mod week games go to resale. OBE, this would be the big change for me. Sort out resale. Let me list my seats (mine and sons) and sell me tickets straight away. When I can't make a game, let me swap my seats online to friends or family. The phone lines are just too inconvenient. I'll renew, I'm anticipating 15% increases.
  23. I dont believe the club would have risk needing a June sale to comply. We spent money in Jan when we didn't need to (the incomings won't really feature). Its likely Archer could come back onto the books and potentially zaniolo if we trigger a purchase. When I stack up those things we just wouldn't have made those purchases if we were so tight. I just don't believe we would gamble like this
  24. Achievable or not, the mindset to chase those above you is better than worrying about someone 11 points behind you. I'm trying to think like Unai, I'm convinced he is only looking upwards
