  1. Another one from the Albion. They're basically our feeder club.
  2. I would think that if we sign another striker he will definitely go on loan. I know it was rumoured Wes would be loaned to the dutch or Belgian league. I would try and get him a loan to an English club if possible, even if it's a championship one. If he's determined he wants to make it in England he needs to adapt to our game. I don't think even before his injury he had done that yet. Of course that's dependent on where he sees his future. I'm sure he could go to a Bruge etc and have a fine career.
  3. What a car crash that is. It's hilarious that Newcastle fans prefer that idiot, financially backed by actual murderers to Mike Ashley.
  4. It’s not tracking your every move 24 hours a day. That’s the reason why you check into a venue. You check in and it finds other devices in the area that have also checked into that venue while you were there. If anything going to the old pen and paper method is worse because you could have been sat in a completely different area of the pub to the person in question and never got within 20m of them. Just being in there is enough to get you to isolate. I agree it’s not a great app but it’s the one we’ve got. The only reason to remove it is because you’re a deeply selfish and cynical person who doesn’t particularly care about the others in society. A Tory, basically.
  5. Are you saying all the people who are isolating for because they’re told to (and are legally required to) are sponging in some way?
  6. Pretty much all the people I know who haven’t had it are women of of childbearing age who are actively trying or planning to try and get pregnant in the next few years. As reasons go I think that’s pretty understandable. I have noticed that when the scientists and experts get asked on the subject the line seems to be “there’s no evidence that it affects fertility” which isn’t the same as “it definitely doesn’t affect fertility” I know they need to be careful with their words because we live in a pretty litigious society now but if you’re expecting people to potentially (however small the probability) sacrifice their ability to start a family then you probably should be willing to stick your neck out a bit. FYI myself and my partner have had first jabs. We have a 1 year old and will probably try for a second at some point next year but my partner did say that “if we didn’t already have one I wouldn’t be taking it”.
  7. Yep. They've come out and said it time and again that it's about equality and not being sent vile racist abuse online. If at this point you're still calling them marxists or communists then I'd say you're just using it as cover because you don't really think people of colour deserve respect and equality. There's a word for that.
  8. 100% agree. It’s a party of predominantly white male English people governing (for the most part) for white male english people. They’ll say they’re disgusted by racism but at the same time make ridiculous comments like “I only kneel for the queen and my wife” (Dominic Raab FYI) in order to delegitimise the anti racism message, make it seem like these people are doing something wrong. Then to top it off they start getting their attack dogs at the daily heil to start writing headlines about BLM wanting to pull down capitalism and turn us into some Leninist state. It’s all about creating a division with these guys to mobilise that English base that deep down doesn’t think these black guys are all that English.
  9. Alrerady signed but I've signed many down the years and I'm pretty sure not one of them made any difference. Thanks all the same!
  10. I just can't get my head around a position where someone isn't revolted by the idea of a black guy doing his job (for his country no less) being subjected to racist abuse just because "we're better than all those other countries". So what you're saying is "he should just shut up and be grateful he isn't hanging from a **** tree?"
  11. You're confusing abuse of someone for what they've done (or not done) with abuse of someone for what they are. If you want to critisise Rashford, Sancho and Saka for their penalty technique then that's completely legitimate and they'd have to accept that. Why should they have to accept racist abuse? Racist abuse of footballers didn't start with social media but it's a lot easier for someone to send abuse from behind their keyboard than it was when you'd have to buy a ticket, get off your arse to travel to the ground and wait for said black guy to be within earshot of you. Why should they have to get off social media to avoid racist abuse? Agreed but a lot of the critisism these guys have received has been racist. References to the fact that all the penalty takers that missed were black, like that had anything to do with it. I agree we're on the whole a fairly tolerant country in that we don't have police literally crushing a guys windpipe on the road, but there are still people who feel comfortable and safe spouting this shit in our society. The social media companies aren't doing anywhere near enough to stop it at source. That's what this is about. They need to put some kind of system to de-anonymise these people so they can be found and society can see that Mr Jones at number 37 called Tyrone Mings an XYZ, so they can lose their friends, livelihoods and in the most extreme cases, their freedom. Who wouldn't want to live in a country where people felt they couldn't call someone the N word or insinuate that a black England player missed their penalty because they were black, rather than just acknowledge that like the rest of the guys who've missed pens down the years it's because we English (white, black and everything inbetween) can't take a **** decent pen?
  12. It's just a dog whistle word isn't it? Used to invoke visions of scary people waving red flags coming into your house and taking your stuff or emptying your bank account of your hard earned money to give to a less fortunate black family.
  13. Ah but schools aren't a factor in transmission at all, remember?
  14. Think I saw this morning that their daily infection rates are much less than hours. Happy to be corrected though!
  15. It's a one off game. It can be done and Italy certainly have shown some vulnerabilities. Think it's nailed on we'll revert to the "Germany formation" for that game to try and shore us up against their attacking threat. I feel like it should be a tactic for ours to let them have a bit of the ball to try and bring Chiellini and Bonucci out and exploit our pace.
  16. Making the roads less safe and having a bonfire of the drivers working conditions...top stuff
  17. Mask wearing going to be made voluntary apparently. On the one hand, I regard not wearing them on the ground of "it's freedom init" to the height of bellendry. On the other hand, I do really hate wearing them as I find them uncomfortable and it's a pain in the arse having to remember to take them out with you. It's just something we have to do to protect everyone around you. Not wearing one for frivolous reasons (i.e. not on grounds of a medical condition) is unebelievably selfish. I must say though it'll be nice to not have to rush back home to get one when you get to the shop and find you don't have one with you.
  18. Was in the stand that day. Mad how quickly everyone went from uncontrollable laughter to outrage. Still unbelievable the ref didn’t give a penalty. Did he honestly think helenius deliberately exposed himself to the entire holte end!?
  19. I remember watching them in the play off 1st leg against Swansea and I don't think I've ever seen as direct as that. They literally went long the moment they won the ball, regardless of the tactical situation. The rest of the team, which had been defending then immediately broke into full sprint to get up the pitch. It was like park football. I think one of my mates who was watching with me at some point made a comment that he hoped they got promoted because they'd be destroyed in the premier league. Easy points etc.
  20. I'm curious as to what you think Johnson could sack someone for? He surely can't sack for adultery, dishonesty, incompetence, disloyalty etc.
  21. I agree he'll go with something like this. He'll make the calculation that at least to start with he needs the experienced heads on the pitch.
