  1. Blondie, Atomic. "Oh, oh your hair is beautiful" Especially when you've been wearing headgear all day.
  2. hdmi ought to be easier as it carries video and audio signals. It's actually a digital version of the component output, so will be less degraded (in theory) on a longer cable. HDMI also carries the HDCP signal so you can play protected content.
  3. The snapdragon in my Nexus 4 has some kind of snapdragon fu which makes it charge much quicker. There's also a snapdragon app which learns your useage and saves your battery. Also worth a look.
  4. You can use HDMI, but vga carries the same signal as component, so you could get one of these leads. As for screen set up, try this.
  5. iOS... Actually, no, I'm not going to bite.
  6. There is no one hard and fast rule. Talk to a financial adviser. There's JulieB on here or my godson's dad Patrick who is a jolly good fellow (and my IFA).
  7. I used to have a Creative Zen, but they're now on my boycott list. Why? They also do pc sound cards. They deliberately released 'updated' drivers which reduced the audio quality, the idea being that people would buy their new 'better quality' soundcards. **** 'em.
  8. Have a look at http://anythingbutipod.com/ - I used to have a Creative Zen, but they're now on my boycott list. Besides, I use my phone for music nowadays.
  9. Right guys, my OH is looking for a new contract. Key things are mobile web allowance and some kind of deal to make roaming cheaper (she goes abroad an awful lot all over the place). She rarely makes calls or sends texts, so free minutes and texts is pointless for her. OK hive mind... GO!
  10. You don't get a fixed rate to save money, you get one so that your outgoings are predictable, which is kinda handy if it's your first purchase.
  11. New builds are nice - you shouldn't have rat/mice/leaking/subsidence. On the other hand The sound insulation can be shite, even though there are building regs...
  12. That as I write this Stefan's avatar is dancing to Fleetwood Mac.
  13. Simon beat me to it. If you got in on a credit card that makes things much easier.
  14. It's also possible that you could move house, but keep the mortgage. Might be worth enquiring. Bear in mind though that they will almost certainly try and sell you something (even a new mortgage) You'd probably have to pay a small admin fee, and they'd need to survey the new property to make sure it's worth enough & not about to fall down or be bulldozed, but you two are already underwritten, so that's a whole bunch of admin that you shouldn't have to pay for. Sod's law you'll have to speak to a few 'computer says no' or 'not our policy, have a new mortgage' morons before you actually find out whether you can or not. As for savings, have a look at ISAs. tax free growth, and if you are higher rate taxpayers, that's not to be sniffed at.
  15. Yeah, you need root. Basically in PC world it would be that you're looking to reinstall Windows. Root = permission to (amongst other things) overwrite the previous android installation. It could be that you want to overwrite with a stock ROM, or cyanogen's version or or or, but you need root.
  16. Born in '92, just for the record...
  17. I thought we were trying to clean up VT? Smut peddler. Give it a rest will you, nobody is trying to "clean up VT". Was only joking, could have been worse, he could have had fudge. Not wanting to go back over old ground, but my friend's dog is called Fudge.
  18. I always look at Tom's Hardware first off. This is in USD: Best Graphics Cards For The Money: May 2013
  19. Christ I haven't even been over to on topic, let alone posted there for bloody years!
  20. Gotta say, props to Rob. Just cooked his peanut curry recipe. Fuggen awesome. I love you. In a heterosexual way, obviously.
  21. "The only land they sound like they come from is Peckham"
