  1. Opening parks at night seems like a completely stupid thing to do. They've always been a magnet for anti-social behaviour at night which is why they've always been closed at night as long as I've been alive, Birmingham, Wales, Liverpool... parks close at night wherever it's possible. Parks have fences / walls and gates for a reason and most of those gates and fences are as old as the parks themselves. This just seems like one of those issues that are only an issue because of the person involved on the one side I can only think of one park that doesn't close at night in my lived experience and that's Sefton Park in Liverpool and thats because it isn't technically owned by the council and has no wall or fences and it has a covenant preventing them from when it was donated, plus there are businesses inside its boundaries
  2. Not quite though is it. Closing a park on weekend nights. Its the only Royal Park in London that isn't closed at night Most public parks close at night, the council come round and lock the gates, then reopen them early morning. I'm not really sure what the fuss is about, closing a park at night seems like a perfectly normal thing to me. We used to get chased out of the park by the park keeper when it was closing.
  3. Fairly sure I got a news alert from somewhere last night that said Pfizer was 88% effective against Indian variant after two doses but AZ was only 60%. No idea where it was though as I was about to go to bed
  4. Is there octopus in it too? (It's not too long ago that this would be a silly question)
  5. If you like completely tasteless coffee (Costa) or weird cloying coffee (Starbucks) then you definitely are
  6. You can get that one in Morrisons I believe
  7. haha yes but what is the red stuff
  8. Anyway... maps Whats this a map of?
  9. I only discovered from this tweet that this is that brand new, I'm drinking it now
  10. My daughter is a Eurovision nut. She however doesn't have a clue how to put a bet on so I've has to go to the bookies for her. I will never get the tenner back unless she wins.
  11. Managed to rebook my 2nd appoinment earlier but decided to go through 119, just the reasurrance of a human telling me that I would be able to get an earlier appoinment is what I needed before I cancelled the orignal second appointment. A proper result in the end, managed to get an appointment that is a 10 min drive from work, unlike the one I had which was in Southport, ten miles in the wrong direction and my appointment is now 15 days earlier
  12. Food is meant to be chewed and its only the shit stuff that is too salty. A nice gammon steak, egg and chips, lovely (none of that pineapple bollocks though)
  13. My first vaccine was 7 weeks and 2 days ago, supposedly I'm allowed to bring it forward. I tried to do this on the NHS website, small issue, you have to cancel your original appointment before you can rebook. I'm really not going to do that as I might end up in a worse position. It would be much better if they gave you the options available and then automatically cancelled your existing appointment once your replacement is booked. It's like they don't actually want you to cancel your appointment to bring it forward even though we're supposed to.
  14. Do your new neighbours like the smell of Napalm Death Curry in the air and the sounds of MOR pseudo surf music?
  15. Most of this modern bacon is crap. Thick cut and with the rind still on is where its at. There's a farm just outside our village that sells it, made from their own pigs (plus sausages and all the other cuts). It's the second closest place to buy breakfast ingredients to our house (and the local shop sells shite) There's something reasuring in driving past the pigs in the field every day and then being a part of their final destination
  16. I might go next season, my daughter lives within walking distance. I'm really happy for them getting back there
  17. How can an original artist be blamed for the existence of an act who covered their songs?
  18. I don't think anyone believes the official figures, hell ours aren't right but China's are off the scale wrong
  19. It's just bizarre and wrong. I feel emotionally drained after this discovery
  20. Nope, it's owned by ICONIX but they may exclusively licence it to the gobshite in the UK I don't know. Here's what I didn't know though... it was a British Company (now US owned) until 1989, I'd always assumed it was American from the outset
  21. Prompted by the discussion on brands of denim jeans, I just discovered this Its a song called Citizen Kane, wrtten by Noddy Holder and Jimmy Lea, released in 1985 as a solo effort by Lea. It's awful and bears a strong resemblance to the Ghostbusters theme but is about the Orson Welles film So far thats a little bit of a musical trivia but the real reason for posting this, is to ask you what record label you think this was on? (no cheating!)
