  1. My recollection is that Sanchez had perhaps 3 very poor games right at the beginning, and since then has been improving so much so that he was our best midfielder. He did have a terrible game against City, but that should be seen as a one off. Should not have been benched, plenty of our players have had a run of consistently poor games, but still being picked.
  2. Agbonlahor was not particularly good at the weekend, but the movement with him, Weimann and Gil was much better. I think I would say, reluctantly, to possibly start with them again, because at least it looked like they might score. Or perhaps Weimann up front, Gil in behind, bench Agbonlahor and Benteke, bring in Sanchez, push Delph further forward. For a bit of solidity, controlled forward play, not gung-ho. Such an important game, minimum must not lose, and we certainly do not need a sulking passenger up front.
  3. I think we all know what the target is. That is not the problem.
  4. Don't think we are doing that, we are being realistic based on actual performances.
  5. That's about right, 6/7 points should be possible, and is probably the minimum we would need.
  6. Grealish needs to go out on loan to the Championship, and it looks like there will be no shortage of takers. I think he will be a great player for us, but I also think his appearances showed that he is not quite ready yet. I like Robinson, not as showy as Grealish, but a great attitude from the little I have seen of him, and I think both will have successful careers.
  7. He didn't keep us up. Its teams below us that saved our season, will be the same this time, not Lambert's genius. That's like saying to the Champions (whoever they may be at any given time) that they're only Champions because the teams below them weren't good enough. Yes, but that is correct, the teams below them weren't good enough.
  8. I do not think that you can even say he has had a bad game as such, it is just that he does very little, and is completely ineffective.
  9. I'd play that side but with vlaar instead of clark, we need all the experience we can get Although Clark has proven recently that he is better than Okore and also more reliable.
  10. Again we are just looking at the results below us. But for some its the genius Lambert keeping us up every season. Results this weekend and last weekend have been incredibly kind to us.
  11. Lol, did you see Sanchez last performance? Yes, ignore the good performances, just concentrate on that one.
  12. Westwood is one of only a few players for us that can actually play football. God help us then.
  13. You mean, Paul Lambert? You don't think we have a scouting network?
  14. I know I have said it before, but it is possible he is just a one season wonder.
  15. The mind feckin boggles , it really does . Someone find me a bouncy castle , plze . You might as well lampoon Lambert for not playing Guzan as centre forward because we'll never know if he'd be really good at it. Yes we do! He is a goalkeeper - he would be shit as a centre forward. Try harder.
  16. Either joking or deluded, which is it?
  17. Better performance, but we need to keep up this level now. And as usual, equalising goal and take our foot off the gas. Just keep looking for another, for God's sake. Agbonlahor and Weimann up front was much better, would be even better if we had someone instead of Agbonlahor to partner Weimann, but when Benteke came on we were just a shambles up front. Some decent movement for large parts of the match, and mixing the possession and counter attack up a bit better. Clark MOM, Okore and Gil very good. Lose Cleverly and bring back Sanchez. Keep Benteke and Cole on the bench or in the stands.
  18. Pretty much what he is about at the moment - all drama and no end product.
  19. It is ridiculous that Lerner, ably assisted by Lambert, has made us the butt of jokes. Our club does not deserve that.
  20. And that article possibly illustrates what Lerner's strategy is at the moment. Stay clear of relegation with minimum spend.
  21. He's not "actively" looking to sell is what tom fox said. I haven't seen that Fox has said Lerner's not " actively " looking to sell ". I've seen the Lerner's ' not a motivated seller' line. Which to me is just a way of telling us that the club is still for sale, but said in a way so that it doesn't look like he's desperate to get rid of us. I read it like this: Randy still wants out of dodge but he's not willing to lower the asking price at the moment. ``Not a motivated seller'' just means Lerner is not actively chasing buyers, but will sell if a buyer comes along with an acceptable offer.
  22. Not a lot wrong with that article. Does not tell us anything we did not already know, but puts it in a nice little bundle.
  23. Looking at our fixtures, April is a bad month, but the other months you would have to look at, if you had any sort of a half decent team, and think ``We can get points there''. Problem is, we have a team either not good enough or mismanaged, and a manager who gives the appearance of being bereft of ideas and confidence.
  24. If we go to Hull and lose without scoring then I think even I might be forced to add my voice to the Lambert out chorus. You just know they've already got that one circled on their calendar as an absolute must-win. Should be a humdinger because no doubt we have too. Can 0-0s ever really be described as a humdinger?! 0-0 will probably be seen as a good result, unfortunately.
  25. Think the percentage would be up nearer to 85-90% personally. I think you do need the nuances, though, because there could be a good number that, although wanting him gone, may think that that particular course of action has been left too late.
