  1. Again we are just looking at the results below us. But for some its the genius Lambert keeping us up every season. Results this weekend and last weekend have been incredibly kind to us.
  2. Lol, did you see Sanchez last performance? Yes, ignore the good performances, just concentrate on that one.
  3. Westwood is one of only a few players for us that can actually play football. God help us then.
  4. You mean, Paul Lambert? You don't think we have a scouting network?
  5. I know I have said it before, but it is possible he is just a one season wonder.
  6. The mind feckin boggles , it really does . Someone find me a bouncy castle , plze . You might as well lampoon Lambert for not playing Guzan as centre forward because we'll never know if he'd be really good at it. Yes we do! He is a goalkeeper - he would be shit as a centre forward. Try harder.
  7. Either joking or deluded, which is it?
  8. Better performance, but we need to keep up this level now. And as usual, equalising goal and take our foot off the gas. Just keep looking for another, for God's sake. Agbonlahor and Weimann up front was much better, would be even better if we had someone instead of Agbonlahor to partner Weimann, but when Benteke came on we were just a shambles up front. Some decent movement for large parts of the match, and mixing the possession and counter attack up a bit better. Clark MOM, Okore and Gil very good. Lose Cleverly and bring back Sanchez. Keep Benteke and Cole on the bench or in the stands.
  9. Pretty much what he is about at the moment - all drama and no end product.
  10. It is ridiculous that Lerner, ably assisted by Lambert, has made us the butt of jokes. Our club does not deserve that.
  11. And that article possibly illustrates what Lerner's strategy is at the moment. Stay clear of relegation with minimum spend.
  12. He's not "actively" looking to sell is what tom fox said. I haven't seen that Fox has said Lerner's not " actively " looking to sell ". I've seen the Lerner's ' not a motivated seller' line. Which to me is just a way of telling us that the club is still for sale, but said in a way so that it doesn't look like he's desperate to get rid of us. I read it like this: Randy still wants out of dodge but he's not willing to lower the asking price at the moment. ``Not a motivated seller'' just means Lerner is not actively chasing buyers, but will sell if a buyer comes along with an acceptable offer.
  13. Not a lot wrong with that article. Does not tell us anything we did not already know, but puts it in a nice little bundle.
  14. Looking at our fixtures, April is a bad month, but the other months you would have to look at, if you had any sort of a half decent team, and think ``We can get points there''. Problem is, we have a team either not good enough or mismanaged, and a manager who gives the appearance of being bereft of ideas and confidence.
  15. If we go to Hull and lose without scoring then I think even I might be forced to add my voice to the Lambert out chorus. You just know they've already got that one circled on their calendar as an absolute must-win. Should be a humdinger because no doubt we have too. Can 0-0s ever really be described as a humdinger?! 0-0 will probably be seen as a good result, unfortunately.
  16. Think the percentage would be up nearer to 85-90% personally. I think you do need the nuances, though, because there could be a good number that, although wanting him gone, may think that that particular course of action has been left too late.
  17. If a player wants to remain involved with the team he will be nothing but complimentary about the manager.
  18. The media are beginning to take notice at last.
  19. Sadly, I would say this is absolutely correct.
  20. Good post. One of those fans may have been me. Was one tall, very handsome and had the kind of expression that screamed 'IQ > 150'? Was that the one you were standing beside.
  21. Relegation is never a better option. It was bad back then, but so many things have changed that it would be much worse now.
  22. Presumably you think he can keep us up, Richard, and certainly I am hoping he can, but I am also more worried now than I have ever been during his tenure. If he cannot turn it around very soon, like starting with the Hull game, we will be relegated, and I do not want that misery again.
  23. But people actually insinuate that those fans who aren't booing or boycotting games are part of the problem? It's insulting. You couldn't be more right. I am not sure if I can put this across right but to a lot of people it is also more than just about watching the game. It is a social event. It is something that they have done with family or friends for years. Speaking about my own situation I am in my 27th year on the spin as a season ticket holder. First it was something I did with my dad and brother but my dad passed away in 2002. Since 2004 when my eldest daughter was 6 I got her a season ticket and she is now in her 11th season. It is more than just about what is served up on the pitch for me. If it wasn't for going to the Villa as sad as it sounds I wouldn't see my brother from one week to the next. For me and my daughter now it is something I hold dear that it is our guaranteed bit of time together. It is our thing if you like and I genuinely cherish that. I can’t say I have enjoyed what has been served up on the pitch for the last 4 or so years. What right minded supporter has. That’s not enough to stop me going though. I love this club. That feeling of seeing us win at Villa Park wipes away all the previous cr*p that has been served up in an instant. At least for a while until reality sets back in anyway J It is just not realistic to ask supporters to boycott games. It is also not fair either as what some fans have invested in this club goes way beyond what is being served up on the pitch. What a very good post that is.
  24. We need the points, but cannot see it happening. And I would be pretty sure that if we stay up, Lambert will be here next season.
