  1. Could have said the same about half-a-dozen of our players during Gerrard's time
  2. I'd keep Dendonker, Chambers and Young as back-up and emergency options as they are all versatile to play multiple positions. Don't think we need two more CDM's. One is enough with Dendonker, McGinn and Timmy all able to play that position at a good level.
  3. Currently lacks that extra intensity and quality the rest of the squad seems to have. Seeing how others have transformed under Emery, I'm not writing him off, but really needs to show much more to remain in the squad.
  4. Respect to Brighton. They are a damn good team. Can do without all their whining
  5. Ings hasn't seen too much playing time, so not sure it was entirely Moyes decision. Their board might have put pressure on Moyes to take him. At the time Moyes was on thin ice and was close to potentially getting the sack.
  6. I am thinking deals are close to being agreed for the likes of Mac Allister. Would they want to risk losing 60M by playing him against us?
  7. By the way - anyone thinking it's better not to be in Europe, that is not just a bad take but basically wrong. Moving forward clubs will earn money from UEFA based on their coefficient points, therefore it is vital for Villa to start accumulating these points by playing European games. For example, if Villa and West Ham both qualify for the UCL - as it stands right now, West Ham would earn much more than us because they have accumulated more coefficient points.
  8. Yeah - forget the Wolves game. We were in it for 6th until the 89th minute yesterday.
  9. Brighton wouldn't want any of their prized assets getting injured in a meaningless game for them. I can see the likes of Mac Allister and Caicedo sitting the game out. I envision one of Brentford (Man City will be focused on UCL) or Spurs (Leeds are a basket case) winning on the final day, thus bottom line we need to win. As for the Conference League, it is less competitive than the UEL and thus will allow us to give more playing time to our youth and fringe players. Could be valuable for the likes of Archer, A. Ramsey, Coutinho ...
  10. Not consistant enough to be a regular starter and some of the poor decisions he makes is concerning. Still has a role in the overall squad.
  11. Not quite. Brentford could still qualify if they beat Man City at home.
  12. Not greedy for Europa League. Rather Brighton secure qualification before playing us. Final game will then be a throw-away and they may even give fringe players playing time.
  13. Also super excited about next year. We'll be so much stronger when we upgrade on the likes of Bailey and Buendia.
  14. More than happy with the point. Now we have several permutations to get into Europe including holding the keys in our hands.
  15. Great half. They have not troubled us. Liverpool's strategy is to just beat our highline and we've been ready for it.
  16. Will be interesting to see how much Alemany gets for him.
  17. Never hated McGinn, but certainly questioned whether he was "good enough".
  18. I'd be furious if I were a Spurs supporter. Players seem not to care.
  19. Feel he will go to Manchester United for around 80M.
  20. Unless he goes to a side relegated from the Premier League, we won't get anything for him. Championship clubs don't spend money on transfers anymore.
  21. Reality check is that international revenues, like sponsorship, is really concentrated around the very top clubs. Until we start winning trophies or have a player that really drives a market (like Son at Spurs who is massive in Korea and Asia) any additional international revenues will be incremental and not transformative.
