  1. If we make the play offs after a long 46 game season we will have done well. Money spent does not equal success. It's going to take time for all the new players to gel and start playing to a system, no matter how much they cost. Just remember the shambles we were 3 months ago. Get used to losing a fair few games this season chaps, even in this rubbish league we are gracing with our presence
  2. We did score a few....didn't we?? :-) I just think if we'd have had a solid back line it would have given us half a chance...even with a shite midfield and attack
  3. If you were to list the four departments of our team from last season, (goalkeeper, defence, midfield and attack) in order of worst performers (no.1) to least worst performers (no.4) I would go..... 1. Defence 2. Goalkeeper 3. Midfield 4. Attack I understand what some are saying in that our midfield was really poor but I think our biggest downfall was the defence. If we could have got a solid rearguard we may have been able to scrape a few 1-0 wins, albion style.
  4. Yes it depends on the severity of your feelings. I suffered from general anxiety for many years which resulted in some pretty horrific periods of panic. When I look back, a lot of my problems were made a lot worse by my choice of lifestyle, which included drinking way too much and doing little exercise. What I find now is that exercise and a healthy lifestyle keeps those demons away...I almost use it as medication. I haven't had a panic attack for years now. I kind of forgot how difficult it was to motivate myself back then to go running etc. I just do it automatically now. I realise mental illness is a very broad and complex area and like you say, every case is different. I think doing what you can to help yourself by being physically healthy just gives you a leg up, so to speak, on your recovery.
  5. Oh yes, definitely outside. I have had a succession of injuries in the last year which has prevented me from running....and I have been a lot more tense if late!! Walking & cycling are good too...oh and I've recently taken up camping, which is also very relaxing. Yes, it's definitely the outdoors that does it for me
  6. I still think pearson will do a job at derby...and moyes at sunderland...if given the time
  7. Yes I agree with all of what you say. I just hope if we have a 10 game run of poor results, which will probably happen over such a long season, fans don't start getting hysterical! We are still a massive job to sort out, which will take time....but yeah....what a difference 3 months makes! UTV
  8. I would recommend to anyone with anxiety/depression issues the importance of exercise. Running in particular...it has an unbelievably calming effect on your physical and mental state. I'm no doctor, but this, combined with cutting out alcohol and/or other drugs gives you a much better chance of getting better.
  9. I think it is yes...but getting these guys out first is the priority...i would rather have a 16 year old on the bench than richards
  10. Watching him let rotherhams left mid go sailing past without even a thought of tracking back was enough for me. Talented?...maybe. Team player...nope. Bye
  11. It's refreshing to see signings being made that are exactly what I think we need. It may take a while for a decent side to develop though...I just hope we give rdm time to oversee it.
  12. Easy chap....rotherham ain't great, i fear we've a few more downs than ups to come first. UTV
  13. Terrible news...villa park hero! Think people should save their anger until we know what as actually happened. UTV
  14. Oh, and by the way, I think richards is even worse!
  15. Not at all...this guy has been consistently woeful. Awful player who has been given a lot of chances by some villa fans who, for some reason, have always viewed his displays with rose tinted specs on. He's rubbish, he really is
  16. Okore should never wear the shirt again
  17. Last thing we need is a player like ravel!!
  18. Jedinak is an improvement i agree, but while we're so short on numbers in cm, selling westwood would be a huge mistake imo. I still think westwood will do well in this league...it is still very early days.
  19. I think rdm has done the right thing in having a look at some of our players. I think you only see how good or bad a player is in a competitive game. Was has given me hope for better times ahead is that everyone was there on wed night...xia, whyness(sp.), brian little...and there seems to have been an immediate reaction to how bad we were. Rewind to the lerner regime...absent owner, nobody really caring, no reaction to poor performance (we go again etc). I'm actually glad xia has spoke out/tweeted, and pinned some blame on the players for once! I think this is what has being missing for a number of years....somebody actually looking over the manager/players shoulders and saying...'hang on a min...we're awful, whats happening?' I hope that rdm gets the time and the players, and the licence to bin players he doesn't want, to turn this mess around
  20. He is the player im least concerned about
  21. Yes but he is an appalling player...another one who looks to have given up
  22. Exactly this...he looks injured...but he's not.
