In a word....yes, yes they have. That is exactly what's happening. People want an instant fix. People also fail to grasp the concept of time. It will take time to turn it around, no matter who's in charge, no matter how much money is spent. That means, for a while, we wont play particularly well, we will look disjointed, and we're going to get beat by sides who are 'beneath' us, but are actually better footballing sides than us at this moment in time. 10 games is not enough time, nowhere near

I agree. We looked disjointed, like a team full of new players who don't really know how to play together yet...because that is exactly what we are. It needs time, even after 50mill it still needs time. If we make the play offs we will have had a great season from where we were last season. We were the biggest pile of shite going..its gonna take some turning round. What i loved about today was that we were playing crap against probably the best team in the division. We didn't buckle, we didn't cave in, we kept battling away and slowly turned it around..and could have nicked it at the end. We have to learn to dig in and play ugly, and i think we're getting there. Elphick knew he'd had a mare but he didn't disappear, he stuck at it. Really gave me hope tonight. UTV Come on u villa boys

We didn't win....sack him. Get someone else in then sack them if they're no better after 10 games. Then get someone else in and give them 10 games...then sack them if its no better. Keep doing this until everyone realises that it might take more than 10 games to get a TEAM to develop. RDM needs to be given a whole season.

I'm embarrassed by some fellow villa fans too, the over reaction after each result is really childish. It does seem to be a villatalk thing though, I haven't encountered this nonsense in the 'real world'

When are people going to understand that we are not entitled to win games just because we are aston villa? A lot of you might think we are far to superior to even grace this league....well we're not. Spending loads of money also doesn't mean we'll have an instant team!! A point away at ipswich is a good result. Yes we have been lucky this time. I am a little concerned about rdm's tactical nouse but he has to be given time for us to find out if he is good or shite. Let me put it this way.....8 games into graham taylors reign in the old second division we were woeful..absolute rubbish. I watched us lose 0-5 in the simod cup at home to bradford for gods sake!! Now I'm not saying rdm is the next gt, but he has to be given this season for him to get his ideas across. I listened to all of what he said on talksport yesterday and he repeated that he was hurt and extremely disappointed. Jim white(sigh) continually tried to imply that villa, & di matteo had treated him unfairly, but stan never actually said that. I got the impression that he was gutted that his football career is finally over and he's in the process of dealing with that. I don't think his fitness was an issue. With the best will in the world, any player who has been out for four years is going to struggle to get back their sharpness, let alone a 37 year old who's had leukaemia!! Danny murphy also tried to imply that di matteo didn't want him around because of him being such a big character and influence and would undermine hus work. Again, pundits looking to make something out of very, very little.

Freakish?!! Ha ha Yes the line up wednesday night read 4-2-4 to me, far too unbalanced, especially at the stage we're at where we need to grind out victories. As much as most fans dont want them, I think we need to play westwood, gardner with jedinak to shore up the midfield. Forget trying to steamroller teams by 4 or 5, we need a few 1-0'ers on the board first

'Think outside the box' = come up with your own ideas 'Touch base' = we'll have a chat It's all unnecessary bs that thick people say to sound clever imo. Like a previous poster said, you wouldn't come out with this nonsense down the pub with your mates. I was told once whilst buying a new tv that I would be 'future proofing' myself with a particular model!!! How I kept a straight face I will never know
