  1. I think Ulloa is the best bet for us and a loan seems likely. Been and done it already. Plus he lives not too far already playing for Leicester. Get it done Wyness.
  2. rocket polishers! Coco the Monkey, Snap Crackle n Pop, Tony the Tiger and that Nutcase Bumble Bee should all go on strike. Are also in the shit.. looks like all those millions of Geoffrey all under one roof will be hitting a job centre near you.
  3. Does make you wonder. I thought the same the other week there and wonder where @Richard had gone? Maybe we should consider setting up the 'missing posters' thread on VT somewhere
  4. Chris Coleman does not strike me as that much of an idiot to attempt such a thing. If we can even claw more than £2m for wonderboy it will be amazing.
  5. And to echo that it will be even better if we are automatically promoted with a game in hand.
  6. Singlefarmpayment I fancy to do well at the festival come March.
  7. You must have thought it was the Steve Bruce thread? That also features people talking continuous cycles of shit too.
  8. No suprise really since Tesco recently aquired Booker. Sad that monopolisation continues ruining jobs and livelihoods.
  9. Unless it's one of them stealth ghost ones. The ones where it feels you have just ejected a snake but it's nowhere to be seen nor even a trace on the toilet paper!
  10. I think after the world cup, we will prob be back in Premier League too by then, hopefully under a different manager maybe? Let him have his world cup and hopefully we will be offloading him to another team that will find him useful in their promotion charge by the time he is back off the plane. We will get back what we paid for him and maybe a wee bit more.
  11. Our next Micheal Boulding then perhaps. I agree with where you are coming from but hopefully after May we will be back where we belong and setting our sights higher.. I hope.
  12. Would you agree that Adomah's career has not really took off until Villa and the age he is now. On that basis should we let this other chap go to a few other clubs first and sign him in 10 years to get the same Adomah effect?
  13. Absolutely. Terry, Jedinak, Grealish, Kodja..basically what would have been called the spine of our team at the start of the season all out injured and we are currently sitting in promotion places is outstandly remarkable. If someone had told you in August that it will be Samba, Whelan, Adomah & Davis being the spine of our team but we will be 4th with 9pts from top spot come December then they would have been entered into a lunatic asylum.
  14. Between him and Jedinak yes it certainly appears this way now.
  15. I have never known it to be any different with injured players at Villa for about 10 years now. Anyone else at a club it's 1-2 weeks, it feels anyone in a Villa shirt it's atleast 3 months a time or longer.
  16. Freaky. I was sitting looking and thinking/analysing this exact thing last night. For me right now we are situated correctly in the table, as most of us agreed at tye start of the season it is where we should be at this stage. Ideally after the next 4 games I think we still need to be in this position or 2nd/3rd place. Leeds, Derby and Sheff Utd we need a minimum of a draw or better on these 3 fixtures. Millwall we should be looking to take 3 pts from this game no question. The first half of the season felt it took a little while to get going and almost missed the train, we have made good gentle progress since October and find ourselfs in a good position half way. I would not like to guess a points total. I think all that would be acceptable is a finish in the top 2 no matter how many points it takes us. I hope we kick on in the second half of tge season like we are ending the first half. Grinding out results and winning games even if it is ugly at times.
  17. I understand some of the sentimental blind faith by some on here but he is very much another confidence player who needs molly coddled and I don't believe in players or managers returning to clubs. For me, I feel we could spend money much better and more wisely on a striker who is worth more his fee. Attack my opinion of the guy, but he wouldn't be anywhere near one of my teams anymore. Many people have short memories in forgetting we were only a "stepping stone" in his career on his mafical journey to Arsenal.
  18. How about we don't. - The same Benteke who has not scored a goal all season? - 1. Cause he is no longer the player we signed sadly, nor will he ever be like that again. He is finished. - 2. And on the combined reasons above he would not be worth any fee Palace would ask for him. There is better strikers out there and we want one where we don't piss up any precious funds on just any total arse donkey.
  19. Don't get me wrong, I don't have any gambling problem or an addicted as such and I agree, I absolutely detest FOT's fixed odds terminals / Routelette machines. I have seen what people are before they dabble on them and to then what these machines do to people - They are heroin without the needle! End of. I do like a little flutter now and again and view jump racing as a bit of a hobbie mostly. I will build a nice little pot for say the Cheltenham festival only (not a fan of flat) with 'What I am prepared to lose' if nothing came of my selections of the 4 days, il also have the odd flutter here and there of a weekend when viably possible. Instead of spending over £1000 a year on playing the lottery and euro millions 8 times over the 4 draw days, I use it at Cheltenham over the 4 days instead. But over all the say and impact bookmakers have is overpowering and is holding a massive influence over jump racing and on occasions football and other sports too, whilst not content with the sway on other sports as such; most betting organisation's now rely on these "FOT's due to the amount the generate - way beyond all the other sports betting markets on offer in that shop combined, and also it is massively marketed how easy it easy to now bet online from anywhere anytime too. The removal of such machines would see the closeure of almost 60% of high street bookmaker branches. Combine this with bookies now playing clearings in the woods on occasions when it comes to big meaty payouts, betting has all changed dramatically for the worse and even harder for punters now then it was say 10/12 years ago. A transition that's now left a battlefield that basically see's it even harder than ever for punters to win and/or even be allowed to win big at that (going by some stories and certain sites rules) yet in this same time frame it's became dramactically easier to obtain money from Joe Publics' pockets than ever before on an obscene scale through various avenues. When the fun stops, stop!.. All very well this campaign existing, but an advert or a little sticky label echoing this does not stop my addicted chasing crave from inserting £20 note after £20 note into these machines or even to watch Ruby Walsh fall off your horse at the last fence. - "We love you Paddy" indeed! If you ask me, the fun stopped around 10 years ago.
  20. And so it should be. It's what football is all about. It's what sorts the men from the boys and it keeps things interesting imo. I wouldn't have it any other way. Congested fixture lists. We love it really.
