Wordle 835 3/6* Ooh, long range screamer from nowhere.
  2. This nonsense about us not being allowed to deal with Adidas because Sawris is a shareholder needs strangling at birth, it's complete rubbish. He owns 3.3% (or thereabouts) of Adidas shares. If Villa had a shirt deal with them, it be would an absolute drop in the ocean of their global revenue. From a Villa persepctive regarding accounting regularity/FFP point of view, as long as any deal was done on proper market terms, then there's no problem whatsoever. And why wouldn't it be on normal commercial terms, nobody at Adidas with any control is going to be remotely interested in articially inflating Villa's revenue. Morons on Twitter keep repeating it because they have a vague sense that it makes them sound like they know what they're talking about. They don't, ignore them.

Wordle 832 2/6* Easiest twofer ever!
  4. He was more the answer than McGinn was. Maybe we shouldn't have sent every single promising kid out on loan either.
  5. The keeper playing it out to the defence, even under pressure is such an integral part of Unai's tactics, that to have a back up keeper who is horrendous at that part of the game doesn't seem like a very good idea to me.
  6. He's no a brilliant shot stopper though, by any means. It's maybe the least bad bit of his game, but he's still not very good at it.
  7. Absolutely horrible as a makeshift left back, what on earth was Emery thinking?
  8. I love peppercorn sauce. I'd never tip a whole jug of it over a steak, but used sparingly it's as good as any other sauce. A nice contrast of being creamy but with a kick from the black pepper.
  9. Which bit were you in, Wythenshawe?! There are loads of pedestrian areas in Manchester, basically most of it between Victoria Station and Deansgate/Oxford Road. There's Albert Square, St Peter's Square, Piccadilly Gardens, most of the area around Deansgate. And the city centre and especially around the Northern Quarter is chock full of excellent boozers.
  10. My mate's got the UK franchise and is opening one in London and one in Manchester next year.
  11. Yep I had to drive from Wigan into Manchester a few weeks ago. What used to be a simple trip down the East Lancs and A6 is now a nightmare of chicanes, bus lanes and areas you're not allowed to enter. Awful.
  12. I've also lived and worked in both. As a city centre I massively prefer Manchester. It just feels a lot more interesting and has lots of different areas all with their own vibe. Birmingham relies on the Bullring too much and outside of that it doesn't feel that great, although the area around the town hall and the library is nice. Musically it all depends on what you like, and as an avowed ageing indie kid I'd say three of my favourite bands of all time are from Manchester, ie The Smiths, The Stone Roses and New Order. I can't stand heavy metal so the likes of Black Sabbath and Judas priest etc leave me cold, although I appreciate how influential those bands are. I'd say driving in both cities is equally horrible to be honest, and best avoided where possible. Public transport in Manchester is much better as they've actually got a tram system that goes to and from places people want to go.
  13. I had the nicest burger I've ever had in a joint called Black Tap in Vegas a couple of weeks ago. It was this, unbelievanly delicious. By Las Vegas standards (8 dollars for a coffee) it was actually quite reasonably priced as well. THE WAGYU STEAKHOUSE BURGER |24.5 1/2 pound wagyu beef, pepperjack cheese, bacon, crispy onions, A1 sauce, roasted garlic mayo
  14. A brilliant stop by their keeper, that would have been goal of the season.
  15. After 30 minutes he'd touched the ball once, and that was to give the ball away. When he's poor, he's very, very poor.
  16. Best player on the pitch first half. Good to see, now a) keep it up son and b) cheer up a bit!

Wordle 827 5/6* Round the houses on that one.
  18. He might be able to do a job at centre back, but not at right back and that was a mistake by Emery, compounded by keeping him on for as long as he did.
  19. Kisses on both cheeks for Emery after the game, throat-slitting gestures at the opposition goalie, the prayer clasp at the ref when he's hacked somebody down, and the "I don't care" chin flick when he gets booked.
