  1. Fair play to him for taking a stand. But he did so in a friendly when he could, in a competitive game he wouldnt do that because he'd face repercussions from fifa, which is out of order. Hopefully this type of thing (walking off) doesn't become common place. Because then how long is it until a team is losing so a player walks off due to abuse? What should happen is fifa see this and impose some serious sanctions for racism, so that it is tackled properly and won't result in competitive games turning to farce. However with those inept fucktards in charge at fifa, don't hold your breath.
  2. -------------Guzan---------------- --Lichaj-Lowton-Clarke-Stevens-- -------Westwood-Herd------------ -Weimann---Ireland---Carruthers- -------------Benteke-------------- 4-2-3-1 Subs; Given, Williams, Delph, KEA, Holman, Bannan, Bowery Our lack of squad depth is frightening with these injuries. And i wouldn't want albrighton or bennett anywhere near a villa shirt ever again
  3. My season ticket was r3 last season, im lower holte now l4
  4. I bought mine 22nd, still haven't received it
  5. Im not surprised your lower north experience against wigan was bad. You can't banter with empty seats.
  6. Are you all really calling for lamberts head? And you wonder why were labelled fickle? After Liverpool he was the messiah. Christ, **** kneejerk reaction or what.
  7. No trains all day. No buses after 5pm. Pissing rain. Late kick off. Boxing day. And im going. I must be mad
  8. Id play ------------Guzan------------- ------Herd--Baker--Clark------ Lowton----Westwood---Lichaj -----Holman--------Ireland---- -----Weimann------Benteke--- 3-5-2 when we have the ball, 5-3-2 when we don't Bennett just doesn't look good enough to me, he's a liability and there's already enough of them in the side atm without adding to them
  9. Well id say we only have a core away following who went to more than one cup game of about 3000 tops, myself included in that, if you look at our attendances at swindon and norwich as a basis. Definitely think it will make it to at the very least s.t holders with 5 aways, probably one or two days further than that but i wouldn't hold your breath if your not elligible until the 29th or after. Our away support has been very hit and miss this season. Absolutely brilliant at west ham, swindon, norwich etc but compare that with my experiences at city in the league, sunderland and spurs where our section of the upper was only 60% full. Oh well, i qualify nice and early for this, will be snapping up my ticket asap!
  10. You will get one xmas eve, we don't have 4350 fans that attended at least 2. I expect tickets will last to around the 28/29th
  11. If we beat bradford, and chelsea beat swansea. Asllong as chelsea qualify via their league position, we'll be in Europe. Is that right? Forgive me for jumping the gun btw
  12. ^ Lambert plays 2 DM's mate. Herd & Westwood is my first choice pairing, and for me Herd was one of the only positives at all to come from last season. Think he's a quality player.
  13. I had a call from Mark Bosnich. Couldn't understand a word he was saying. Must of been a bad line
  14. You really, really want us to hate you. Really yearn for some attention. Truth is, I for one have never, ever seen baggies as a derby. Yeah your nearby but I've never had any hatred towards you, not more than I have for any other club barring small heath. I would actually go on to say I hate Man cityand chelsea more than you lot. To me, baggies is just another game, perhaps its because I live in Castle Bromwich and not near the black country. But I still guarantee small heath is the big derby for black country based villa fans. The way I see it, to us Blues is the only real derby and the only real hatred that comes from Villa. Blues, Baggies, Wolves, Walsall, Coventry etc etc all hate us. Why? Because you've all been in our shadow for 99% of your ENTIRE history. Yeah you might have the odd year where you finish above us or beat us, and you harp on about it constantly because your finally matching up to the big club in the area. Whereas quite frankly, the big club doesnt care about your tinpot club or bitter fans.
  15. Still dont get why people come crying onto forums about the slightest bits of trouble. Newsflash gents, it goes off at football matches. Up and down the country. Week in week out. All teams. To say your 'embarrassed' to be a fan of the club is ludicrous.
  16. That Aston Taverns been derelict for best part of 25 years I read somewhere, literally cannot be anything else to it other than 4 walls and a roof. Going to take a serious amount of time and money to fix that place up. Surely new pubs will need to sprout up around the Lichfield road side of the ground, with the vine, the eddie, the social and the addies going. One new pub, the manor (tiny), the swan and mitre (members only) and the villa tavern (miles away) surely isnt enough for all the punters
  17. Any info on where's decent/where accepts away fans?
  18. To the chap that was talking about turning the wins to draws, whos to say that by going gung-ho and chasing the win rather than settling for the draw, we wont lose 6 more games through being exposed at the back? There's always a flip side. My hopes for the season are an exciting transfer window, big crowds at the villa again, a top 10 finish and a semi final possibly further. My more realistic expectations are a finish between 12-14th, which is a marked improvement on last season. Especially if the attractive football is there too. Then hopefully push on from there
  19. I think Blackburn have been completely wrote off a little too prematurely. If they beat Wigan, who granted are playing with such confidence at the minute, but I think Blackburn will fire themselves up for it and win, Wigan's form has to come to an end sooner or later, they're shit and there's a reason why they are below us. If they beat Wigan say 2-0, and QPR lose against Stoke say 1-0, Blackburn's goal difference is then only 2 worse then QPR's, which means they could go to Chelsea, lose 2-0, and still stay up if City put 5 past QPR, and Bolton don't pick up another point. I know its all 'ifs' and 'buts', but I think there are so many unpredictable scenarios at this stage of the season that nothing is a guarantee, and so I'm not completely celebrating being safe just yet. I definitely don't want to go into the last game of the season level on points with both Bolton and QPR, it'll be torture at Norwich
  20. Simple way of looking at things: IF and its a fairly big IF QPR lose away at Chelsea and away at Man City & Blackburn fail to win either of their games away at Spurs and away at Chelsea We are safe, barring a minor miracle in goal difference
  21. A lot of our corners are just floated/looped in. These are so easy to defend and much more difficult to attack. Think about it, if the balls dropping in without much power on it, its simple to head it up and away, yet very difficult to head it downwards and generate power. Since Young left, we have no-one who can whip a ball in accurately and with power, they are much more difficult to defend and only require the slightest touch from anyone for it to go in.
  22. -------------------Given------------------- Hutton---Cuellar------Baker------Lichaj --------------------Herd------------------- N'Zogbia--------Ireland------Carruthers -----------Gabby-------Weimann--------- Would be mine, need to go at them from the off, we looked fairly dangerous in parts on Saturday
  23. Yeah, I didnt think too much of it at first, just shrugged it off had a row back said to him what right have you got to tell me how to support my team etc etc. It was only afterwards that it started to click and I thought, how **** dare you. I'm not knocking anyone who wants to stand there in silence because were losing, it pisses me off the exact same way it pisses them off that were losing, but don't take it out on other fans who actually want to try and enjoy their day a little. I was at Liverpool last season, one of the worst games I've ever attended, yet I can still look back and laugh and actually think in a weird way I enjoyed it, it was fun because of as you say, our gallows humour. And that is why I love our away support, the majority of it anyway.
  24. This topic may well get a lock, but I've not long got home from Manchester and feel like I need to vent a bit of frustration as to what happened to me at todays game. I'll set the scene, United have just gone 3-0 up, there's a mixed atmosphere of anger, dissapointment and resignation as you'd expect. A few minutes later the banter that had been going on all game with the mancs starts up again, only this time the 'lets pretend weve scored a goal' chant goes up, cue a fair few of the away end dancing and celebrating including me and the lads I was with. Now, at this point, a bloke in front and a bloke behind me who had been silent all game start kicking off with us. Calling us pricks, asking how we can take the piss and cheer when were 3-0 down, generally being arseholes towards us and coming out with bollocks such as 'your not real supporters'. I'm sorry, but what Villa fan has the right to tell me and others what we can and can't do at the match? I've noticed things like this a lot lately, both at the match and on here, there are some people who think they are 'better fans' and its not on. I forked out £40 for a match ticket, £30 for the train, travel best part of a 200 mile round trip to go and support my team just for some muppet around me to tell me I can't sing and dance? Ended up having a full blown row with these blokes, my point being that why the **** should I stand there in silence while I watch that shower of shit served up week in week out. I'm 20 years old, if I wanna get on the piss all day, dance around the stands and sing songs loudly then I will, because that's how I choose to support my club and there is NO-ONE that can tell me not to. Because christ, I ain't gonna get any entertainment from the game am I? Rant over
