I think he, like Emi Buendia must be so annoyed that their talents are being so diabolically squandered in this team. They both must think they have found themselves in some kind of sporting purgatory/nightmare where no one runs or moves and it’s just all sideways and hoof. I’d be ringing my agent every morning saying get me out of here.

I think the entire US stock market being down 25% year to date, as well as adidas being down 56% ytd may have dampened their enthusiasm? They must be down a few quid.

To be fair, I think he’s hard done by, and would benefit by some days on the bench, but because he’s captain, it means he’s undroppable and that just pisses everyone off. I feel sorry that SG has put him in that position.

If he goes straight back to his ridiculous tactics after the Man City game, then he can do one. If he has learned that his tactics were crap and not working then he gets a little more time. If he continues doing what he has been doing before the Man City game (crap tactics, favourites always playing, 0.3xg bore fests) then he can get a taxi to whatever sunny destination he chooses.

Great post. That's kind of the issue, we need a competent manager to get that kind of system to work, and SG is far from competent.

It's this for me, I consider myself to be relatively smart, but I have no idea what SG is doing or even trying to do, and suspect that with SG, that makes two of us.

If you look at it the way a lot of us are now seeing things. The reason we were crap in the second half is because Moyes changed the shape to best work against us. Gerrard has never done this, that's why we seem to have one good half and one crap half. It's because he has no clue how to make tactical decisions that affect the outcome of the game, and that is the bare minimum I'd expect from a Villa manager. That's why everyone has turned, it's getting fairly obvious he doesn't have a clue what he is doing.

When i heard the Hobbit was going to be a trilogy, it just screamed pointless filler to make money to me. I mean there's nothing wrong with making money, but not at the expense of the fanbase.

I think the YouTube comments are the best part about this series. Every trailer has something like. "I liked the bit where Galadriel told Harry he was a wizard, and then they both took the holy grail to Asguard."

I agree with you. It looks terrible, it's totally detached from the lore and the feel of Tolkien's universe, with a side order of identity politics, like we need more of that in films and TV lately. It might do well, but it won't be well received by anyone who has read the Silmarillion, unfinished tales etc. Looks more like game of thrones / Narnia than Middle earth to me.
