  1. And then, to quote an unamed dude that wears speckies "We go again". Another heart-breaking season of struggle and Lerner feeling vindicated that we can continue to survive with little investment. Great
  2. January proved we had given up and we would accept relegation if it comes.
  3. Ambitiously crazy? If their ambition is to be the next Portsmouth then yeah you could call them that. The only difference though, is that their owner is ridiculously rich, and they have an ok fan base (though I don't know what their gates are) and he will throw money at them to get the players that they need. They will probs keep some of the ones they have and boss the championship next season. For how long will he do that though? If they go down and don't shift a lot of their players (they're virtually all relatively high earners now) they'll be in big trouble. I don't know this for a fact but I reckon they must have the highest wage bill than all but the top 5 and Liverpool, which is startling when you consider that they've been rooted to the foot of the table all season. They seem to think its a risk worth taking, so fair play to them. Us? we just gave up.
  4. Thats our future under this useless owner.
  5. I dont recall supplying you from my toadstool stash
  6. Lowton and Vlaar can't defend which is one of the main attributes you would like a defender to have and westwood offers nothing in the midfield. He can't tackle, he is too lightweight and offers nothing going forward at all. If you mean Vlaar is shit at defending high balls into our box, then i agree. He needs somebody beside that can do that, which proberly means Richard Dunne. But his overall defending is not bad at all considering. Remember, he has had to nurse maid the three stooges whilst adapting to the Premier........not an easy feat!
  7. Yeah the Championship! Do agree with you though!
  8. Possibly the best prospect to break through in the last 5-10 years, thats how highly i rate him. We need him signed whatever division we are in, because in 4-5 years his value will be much more than the few grand we are probably haggling over. Seems our club is run by the day, rather than any long term thinking, and with very little football knowledge to boot.
  9. True. And with that, maybe C.I's suggestion of Poyet would be a good fit? Will need a new and "willing" owner first though, since i think even Mourinho would struggle wih these clowns in charge. But Poyet armed with a decent pot of money is attractive.
  10. Not a great motivator, that job was Gregorys......and we witnessed how good he was with that, when he was Manager. love him or hate him, hes not everyones cup of tea, but i would prefer him in charge at Wigan rather than Lambert. Would have him back tomorrow.
  11. The major difference between us then and Spurs now, is that they have already proved to their best players they are capable of Champs League. And Levy
  12. And what if Lerner offers him a good contract and he still rejects it? He would be mad to sign anything before he knows we are safe. Probably why it won't be resolved till the summer. But I don't get the impression he's a mercenary like one or two others to mention. I agree. However, his agent will now be fully aware of what other clubs will be willing to offer him, which could just turn his head. Thats not him being mercenary, just human.
  13. And what if Lerner offers him a good contract and he still rejects it? He would be mad to sign anything before he knows we are safe. That would mean Lerner having some interest in this club, and the evidence suggests the opposite. This will be left to his stooge Faulkner, and we all know what an amazing job he is doing.
  14. Its a miserable shit hole to get pissed in aswell.
  15. No bull here, but was told 6 weeks ago that Weimann, Benteke and two others had indicated that they would be off IF we are relegated. Aint got a clue whom the other two were, since i was peed However the source is quite into midands footy, especially Vtlla Park and knows Doug ( whom he cant stand ). I mentioned it before, though was not sure. Now im convinced. I think if we go down, there will be one almighty rebuilding job on our hands since i fear this is just a small part of a mass exodus. One person will be thrilled to bits though, whilst doing his Lord Lucan
  16. Aussie footballer of the year aswell. So must have a lot more in his locker. Just think that our lack of ambition effects players motivation, and that effects performance. Could say the same with a lot of our squad. I think this is a what came first statement. Perhaps its as simple as having shit players affects performance Seriously, I'm confused at the long way round in logic in your post ps my feeling is Holman isn't actually that good. He gets paid to play football, fss. It's a GAME - survival or not. Sometimes my logic confuses me too, but yes.....he is pretty average.
  17. Lose to Reading and i think Villa Park will become very hostile towards him. Doubt it. There'll be a few boos but the blind support will continue and we'll be hearing his name chanted as usual at the next game. Given that the next match after Reading is QPR i hope that regardless of the Reading result the crowd get behind the team and Lambert. You would think so, but the pressure he and the team will be under if after losing to Reading, will be immense. A lot of fans are now becoming resigned that we are going down and that will be amplified after a defeat at Reading, so much so, i really can see the crowd turning pretty hostile faiirly quickly.

  19. He would probably do well behind a front two, but i have no evidence to back that up

  21. It must be hard to get motivaed if the clubs sole ambition is to survive.
