  1. Id play Gollini and Gardner to see if they can put Sunday behind them quickly. Id also be tempted to play Cissokho up to 60 mins then bring Amavi on. Other than that he should have a look at everyone else imo. If Kozak is fit it would be nice to see him get a game in place of Gestede. Gollini Richards - Okore - Toner - Cissokho Tshibola - Gardner Green - Ayew - Grealish Kozak Subs: Bunn/Steer, Hutton, Baker, Amavi, Lyden, McCormack, H-Murphy
  2. Nowt. But in fairness McNair's been mentioned alot in this thread as a possible replacement for Clark
  3. Big surprise for me was hearing he was on the bench on Sunday. Was that because RDM sees Bacuna as a winger and means Richards is literally the only cover at RB in the first team squad? Is Richards to be used while he's still here? Is he staying? Seems obvious we're trying to offload Gabby, Veretout, Lescott and Bennett. Richards and Kozak are the ones its hard to know what the thinking is. Who knows what happens now with Kozak? Richards surely has a release clause. I wonder if he will play tonight?
  4. https://www.avfc.co.uk/News/2016/08/10/sanchez-joins-fiorentina OS confirms it. Tara Carlos. I will miss your haircut.
  5. 11th, 10th and 15th place Premier League finishes say hi
  6. My best guess is he's on about some Thomas Friedman reference to the book "Hot, Flat and Crowded" about increased globalisation (flat) and population (crowd). So unless I'm wide of the mark I took it as he's just saying he wants to build something for a new century that everyone around the world can love. If it was in reply to the birminham mail article about his tweeting being ultimately refreshing its a bit "out with the old in with the new better way for the technological age mofos " (to paraphrase somewhat). Or I'm completely wrong of course.
  7. Thing is when "great at this level, can do a job in the premier league" players are available we could probably do with them because apart from the new boys the current squad is full of players who on the whole couldn't do a job in the premier league and are mostly untested at this level.
  8. No Dave, BOF just has a thing for all time Villa goalscorer stats.
  9. Jedinak or Ledley according to the Telegraph...... so we can help them buy Benteke... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/08/09/crystal-palace-hope-to-agree-christian-benteke-deal-after-reopen/
  10. having his medical tomorrow according to their website http://it.violachannel.tv/vc13-dettaglio-breaking/items/id-09-08-2016_20-07-16_sanchez-e-un-calciatore-viola.html
  11. I saw that he'd done an interview on foxsport in Australia. I think thats what they are quoting. He didnt exactly say he was staying as far as I can see. Just gave a stock answer as every professional should. Im not saying he's on his way or wants to come here or anything. And Im not having a go at you useless. Just that's the second thread Ive seen this in and all he said was: http://www.foxsports.com.au/football/premier-league/exclusive-jedinak-opens-up-on-the-hurt-of-captaincy-loss/news-story/ec847b9230ccfccc3fd3c44d82f3dea8
  12. Fair play to Dr X. When he took over 8 weeks ago all I wanted was some hope. Since then he has overseen more change than I expected. I don't have a problem with how much money he spends at this point because whether I agree with it or not the new team have a plan and I'm witnessing them trying to implement it. I expect us to sell before we buy not as some sort of conspiracy but because of the terrible financial position relegation + Lerner's tenure have left us in. Nzogbia, Richardson, Robinson, Crespo, Clark, Gil, Sinclair, Gana and Guzan are all gone from last years squad. It seems that they are trying to shift Lescott, Veretout, Sanchez, Bennett and most importantly Gabby. Richards is probably on that list (although I was surprised to hear he was on the bench on Sunday). That would be 15 players out if they all leave and apart from being exactly what was needed after the non whimper of last season its a huge departure from the last few years of constantly talking in the press about players leaving then when they dont, ending up with Sylla et al as some sort of pacifier to the fan base. I don't expect instant success but the hope is back, we are being way more pro-active and aggressive in the transfer market than I expected, the new board has football people on it and pretty much everything we've had to moan about under Lerner seems from the outside to be being addressed. Whether the team go on to earn the success we all crave is up to them and RDM. But as far as new owners go from what we've seen so far I'm pleased. Keep it up Dr X and happy 8 week anniversary!! UTV
  13. best bipolar joke of the lot mate congrats
  14. 9 players at the training camp? surely they want a micah and a gabby......
  15. http://www.footballinsider247.com/aston-villa-continue-talks-with-italian-giants-for-midfielder-report/ Fiorentina rumour not going away
  16. If there's no Amavi yet I'm expecting this: Gollini Hutton - Elphick - Baker - Cissokho Tshibola - Westwood Ayew - McCormack - Grealish Gestede Subs: Steer, Okore, Bennett, Bacuna, Gardner, Green, H-Murphy I'd personally give Gardner the nod over Westwood.
  17. I dont hate him. Just think he has alot to prove coz i think hes a bit shit. However as its not the westwood thread i was just hoping we sign a midfielder really.
  18. If youre on about Westwood being shit, Id tend to agree. As it looks like he's staying he could try proving to me he's not shit this year. be much more confident about us in general when and if he's a squad player.
  19. Either way, Westwood has alot to prove, Tshibola is young, new has alot to prove, Gardner finally gets a chance and has alot to prove. Sanchez to leave makes sense he's proved enough now. Veretout on loan makes sense, he has alot to prove.
  20. On loan to Cheltenham Town apparently. http://www.gloucestershirelive.co.uk/aston-villa-defender-joins-cheltenham-town-on-loan/story-29585167-detail/story.html
  21. Trippier would be amazing, ambitious I think, but no doubt a good player. Looking around the Premier League squads there are players like Trippier, Yedlin, Wisdom, DeLaet not getting regular games at their clubs. Still think DeLaet is a good shout considering he probably wouldnt have to move house or anything and is proven at this level. I know nothing of Todd Kane or Ola Aina the two nippers at Chelsea who are surely possible loan options. Hutton for the first few games wouldnt be the worst thing, but I hope by the close of the window he is firmly second choice at RB. If nothing else so Bacuna is 3rd choice/back up which is what he should be in every position he reckons he can play in imho.
  22. Probably just his phone going off doing stuff on its own by accident as it is apparently prone to doing
  23. I'll be more surprised if he stayed than if he left. Clark shows it wasnt entirely true that "Gana is the only one" when it comes to release clauses for one, but ultimately if the player doesnt want to be here then there's little point in keeping them. (Anyone remember Yorke's last game?) Not that I want him to go, I'd love to think we could build a squad that could afford us the luxury of actually seeing where his best position is without being our only creative outlet.
  24. I just cant let myself believe he'll actually go. Would be the best thing to happen around here for years.
