  1. Sometimes it really is that simple. Full stop. Not something you should have to teach or remind a professional centre back who is 24 years old and wears the number 5 shirt at Aston Villa Football Club. Number 5 shirt people. Think about that for a second whichever generation you are from.
  2. yeah, I agree, I thought the consensus of the forest fans was he looked alright at first and then turned out to be pretty shit, which has a familiar ring to it.
  3. FWIW, I feel the hyerbole is the "great on loan at forest" stuff myself.
  4. Richards 100% causes the overload. No argument there but this is spot on. Amateurish decision making from Okore. It made me laugh when I was watching it. He sort of blindly follows the guy who he was picking up prior to Richards wandering off without realising Amavi could cover that run or that he should be defending the ball. Did he expect Amavi to cut in and close down the man on the ball? Pretty much any decision that wasnt running away would have been better.
  5. Dont take yourself down that road of thinking. Its oversimplifying the situation we are in. We will have a massive turnover compared to other clubs in our league. However we're in the Chamionship with a massive squad full of players on Premier League contracts who quite frankly aren't good enough. If we're going to operate under FFP then we have to accept the clearout first. We're still dealing with the wage bill problems of the Lerner era at the same time as dealing with the MASSIVE drop in revenue from relegation. Every player sold is a chance to invest more wisely though.
  6. That gif is the reason he's finished here though. Richards has his own thread and impending departure.
  7. If there's that many ifs about if we did this and if we did that with Gestede that makes me think if we stopped making excuses we'd all just agree he is awful.
  8. I would tend to agree. 8 weeks he's been here. 3 more where he can help affect the playing squad (and a few more for loans apparently) The mess post Lerner is not going to be fixed in 11 weeks. Always going to be a fall out on sites like this and twitter after a loss and more so after an embarrasing one. Also if more people realised Twitter is just a marketing tool and lightened up a bit the world would be a better place. He's not going to make headlines in Asia promoting brand Villa without talking big is he?
  9. That the second sentence is true does not mean the first one is applicable in this case. Its not a blanket rule. You just used the phrase "out of context" out of context is all! I feel like im getting pedantic though and youre defending your defensive stance. Which means we'll start repeating ourselves soon and get asked to move it to pm. when really we're both just smarting from last night's humiliation. We can agree to disagree if you like, I have no desire to change your opinion. My pedantry is on record. Should probably get back on topic though, which was what? Oh McGrath, thats right football.... urgh. Villa? *sigh*. *sigh* again. Jedinak please come and help us out for a couple of years if Pardew doesn't have space for you.
  10. well, no, it isn't, it's just using a partial quote from your original statement. By leaving out the rest of it the meaning or our ability to interpret it wasn't changed, The message that you dont think getting rid of Richards or Okore is the prudent option still stands it's just that he left out your reasoning.
  11. First team wise nothing has changed transfer wise we still need what we needed yesterday to be able to field a competative 11. namely RB, 2x CM, 2x wingers (not Grealish down the left, Ayew down the left, not Bacuna....ever, actual bloody right and left sided midfielders for McGrath's sake) and a striker that isnt whatever Gestede is supposed to be. As for the squad? well. Gollini ?????? - Elphick - Baker - Amavi ?????? - ?????? - ?????? - ?????? Ayew - McCormack back up of Steer ?????? - ?????? - Toner - ?????? Traore - Westwood - Tshibola - Grealish ?????? - ?????? I just do not care about the rest of them. Would rather see Lyden, Green, Hepburn-Murphy, Toner and the like given a chance. If they are young and going to make mistakes then so be it. Id rather they had the excuse of youth and given the chance to learn from their mistakes than watch the rest of them. Lets not delude ourselves. Richards, Hutton, Cissokho, Gabby, Gestede and Bacuna are just appalling footballers. It is a source of embarrasment to me that they are associated with our once great club. Okore, Gardner, Kozak and Veretout need to go for various reasons, Lescott is some sort of parody of his former self. And a word removed. Bunn, While escaping criticism for last night, has had plenty of chances and shown little. If hes good for moral or learning the young uns with the coaches then great. But if not he's not going to be competition for anyones place is he. Gradual change would have been nice but we dont have that luxury. Not signing a whole new 11 is a bad idea because it might upset the balance, take a while to gel. Well that's not an argument that can be used here unfortunately in our case. Theres nothing to want continuity in.
  12. THIS. I will never be able to unsee this or delete it from my memory. Harsh of Richards to leave him so utterly exposed but that was the moment I realised hes got no brain whatsoever.
  13. How can signing an England International on a free transfer go so wrong? What other defenders in the world at any level spends their time running away from the ball and so ludicrously out of position? Just wtf is going on? Looking back on last night it was surreal. Was it the second goal where he's nowhere to be seen leaving Okore like 3 on 1? Okore's decision to start pressing the man then just stop and run away was baffling but Richards singlehandedly screwed us over last night.
  14. Well that's pretty much that as far as I'm concerned with GG. Was happy for him to be 4th choice and given a chance but after that. Nah. Come in number 22 your times up.
  15. Is he on crack? I felt sorry for Hutton and Okore And Amavi and Bunn in that second half. On the plus side, Richards just disgraced himself in front of the nation live on TV. Again. RDM has been around the block. If RDM has any pride in himself he'll never let Richards near Villa Park again. That was laughable. Should investigate criminally. Joke of a man let alone footballer.
  16. Moneyball eh? Kind of the poster boy for why stats mean little compared to what you actually see with your own eyes. Also stockholm syndrome.
  17. Who keeps calling him a donkey? well youre spot on whoever you are. I want to gouge my eyes out with a spoon so I dont have to ever watch him stroll aimlessly around again. Not fit to wear the shirt im afraid and its not like we havent tried. Put more crosses in? do us all a favour and stop deluding yourselves. Just get rid. Why are we employing a footballer who is "good at one thing"? I thought we were a professional club? I have developed a dislike for him greater than Ian Ormandroyd. I think it's starting to show isn't it?
  18. Seriously, what are the likes of Grealish and Tshibola supposed to do about Richards exactly?
  19. welcome back Jordan. great to see his name on a team sheet again.
  20. Subs: Steer, Bacuna, Elphick, Gestede, Westwood, Hutton, Cissokho.
  21. What's the deal with the Championship window after the Premier League one closes? we can still buy people through September right?
  22. I was working on Sunday so I missed the Sheff Weds game. Im looking forward to this.
  23. Roger that. Be nice to see a hands on approach with this one. Be the stuff of legends if we could get it done in under 4 minutes.
