  4. Just been catching up with the start of this series and it really has been brilliant.
  5. Honestly wouldn't know about the first bit but do you know what you're right. I got the wrong guy completely. That's not the face I had in my mind when I wrote that. I'll try and edit appropriately. lemme see, slimey...... slimey........blairites......got it.

  7. I sorta caught this on the BBC news and from the way it was cut you'd have thought the guy was against the army or something Love him or loathe him you've gotta love that there's someone up there asking the uncomfortable questions. At pmq's. Didn't he get the memo to not talk about Saudi Arabia, Nuclear weapons, Iraq, Libya, Syria and Palestine or what? However I must say his most redeeming quality is that the Blairite horror show front benchers like Balls, Cooper and the ever slimey Mandelson obviously despise him. That can only be a good thing where I'm from.
  8. 2 separate attacks in 2 days in Nigeria for the record. both bomb attacks on markets.
  9. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p038f16q Antoine Leiris's wife Helene was killed in the attacks in Paris on Friday. After her death, he wrote a defiant, widely-shared letter in which he says he will not give her killers the "gift" of his hatred. Antoine appeared on the World at One programme this afternoon to recite his words.
  10. Just double checked myself and it is 5 years and here's the weighting The national team coefficients are calculated on a country's recent results. In the current rankings, 20% weighting is given to UEFA EURO 2012 results (qualifying/final tournament), and 40% each to the 2014 FIFA World Cup (qualifying/final tournament) and UEFA EURO 2016 (qualifying). Also here's the knockout phase. Round of 16 (all times CET) Match 1: Runner-up Group A v Runner-up C (15.00, 25 June, St-Etienne) Match 2: Winner D v Third-place B/E/F (21.00, 25 June, Lens) Match 3: Winner B v Third-place A/C/D (18.00, 25 June, Paris) Match 4: Winner F v Runner-up E (21.00, 26 June, Toulouse) Match 5: Winner C v Third-place A/B/F (18.00, 26 June, Lille) Match 6: Winner E v Runner-up D (18.00, 27 June, St-Denis) Match 7: Winner A v Third-place C/D/E (15.00, 26 June, Lyon) Match 8: Runner-up B v Runner-up F (21.00, 27 June, Nice) • For which third place team will play in each tie, see Article 17.03 of the Official Regulations Quarter-finals 1: Winner Match 1 v Winner Match 2 (21.00, 30 June, Marseille) 2: Winner Match 3 v Winner Match 4 (21.00, 1 July, Lille) 3: Winner Match 5 v Winner Match 6 (21.00, 2 July, Bordeaux) 4: Winner Match 7 v Winner Match 8 (21.00, 3 July, St-Denis) Semi-finals 1: Winner QF1 v Winner QF2 (21.00, 6 July, Lyon) 2: Winner QF3 v Winner QF4 (21.00, 7 July, Marseille) Final Winner SF1 v Winner SF2 (21.00, 10 July, St-Denis) http://www.uefa.com/index.html
  11. No way. RIP Jonah Lomu. Just walking through Tony Underwood is how I'll remember him. First rugby superstar for sure. It was never the same after him. It was better.
  12. The seedings just rank them according to the UEFA coefficients taken at the end of the groups and before the playoffs. (I think it involves the previous 5 years of results). The exceptions being the hosts and the holders (if they qualify - which Spain obviously did) will automatically be placed in Pot 1 regardless of coefficient ranking.
  13. France, Spain, Germany, England, Portugal, Belgium Italy, Russia, Switzerland, Austria, Croatia, Ukraine Czech Rep, Sweden, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary Turkey, Rep of Ireland, Iceland, Wales, Albania, N. Ireland Draw takes place Sat 12th Dec 18:00 CET/17:00 GMT
  14. I think they need Vassell on debut at this point
  15. Slovenia 1-0 up on Ukraine atm in the other one. 15 mins left for Slovenia to find an equaliser.
  16. I do see the western response as indifference, and for the reasons outlined. I don't think I was moving onto another aspect at all. We can disagree on our subjective definitions of indifference/outrage, that's fine I get what you're saying Blandy but like I touched on above, one mans outrage is another mans tacet approval. again, there was never any suggestion of 2 wrongs making a right or any eye for an eye'dness in my OP and just tried to explain myself due to Brum's reaction of not understanding my point at the time it was made. "I have no idea what the overall point is ?" That parodying the quote by changing Mohammed for Allied Forces seems to have been misinterpreted I will take the reaction on the chin and just take it under advisement.
  17. Blimey. I must have missed the bit where we changed our foreign policy and started to atone for the errors made. However appalled we claim to have been the same thing carries on unabated does it not? Or is it better that we sub contract all this reality to private contractors? Is being appalled good enough when we continue to murder innocent people while encouraging people to spout dangerous rhetoric about Islam being intrinsically evil? Its misdirection on a massive scale. The tacet approval of our society, voting in the same people to continue the same agenda was one thing I was hoping it would highlight. Also, as Lapalfan seemed to pick up on that while we're discussing the actions of the man in the book from thousands of years ago, actual evil is being perpertrated by actual evil people in the real world, right now. So if we apply the same basic humanity as we cling to in our opinions and arguments of this religeon to ourselves and our own society, what do we conclude? At no point was I suggesting 2 wrongs would make a right anymore than I would suggest all westerners are intrinsically evil based on the actions of the global industrial military complex, or dismiss an entire religion as intrinsically evil based upon the characters in it's stories and the things they say they said and the things they say they did, or even worse because some guy says they say all this in their book.
  18. I have literally no idea whether this is true or not. However, what has been proven beyond any doubt over the last 15 years is that Allied forces operating within Afghanistan and Iraq have killed, tortured, sexually abused and persecuted countless humans. Including children. I am pretty sure that when the British and American public were made aware of this their reaction on the whole has been to shrug their shoulders and say things like " tough shit, they're the enemy".
  19. Tonight sorts out where Ukraine(2)/Slovenia(4), Czech Rep(2/3), Sweden(3)/Denmark(3) and Turkey (3/4). after Ireland qualified it means Hungary are definitely in pot 3. It also means the remaining slot in pot 2 will probably be the Ukraine, unless Slovenia overturn the 2 goal defecit from the first leg, in which case the Czech Republic would take that place. Sweden and Denmark are left playing off for a place in pot 3. And Turkey will be in pot 4 unless Slovenia win.
  20. No conditions as far as I know, Just a straight draw, with France as hosts already assigned the top seed in Group A. So theoretically you could be in a group of Germany, Italy and Poland I suppose. With the new expanded tournament and all the new teams and groups though, 4 teams that finish 3rd in their groups will progress to the round of 16. http://www.uefa.com/MultimediaFiles/Download/Regulations/uefaorg/Regulations/02/03/92/81/2039281_DOWNLOAD.pdf
  21. I dunno, It depends whether you think going through the England U21's would have benefited him any more I suppose.
