  1. Hourihane seems to be getting more crab-like with every game, and seems to now be more Whelan junior than attacking mid. He's got a decent shot on him, but lacks a forward pass, pace and the ability to beat a man, so I don't know if he should really be too far up the pitch. Agreed he should be on set pieces though.
  2. I really wouldn't expect Bruce to be in charge if we got promoted, I think there would be an "amicable" parting of the ways.
  3. I'm not even sure that he was trying to play it to the keeper, it was such an inch perfect pass to the striker who was nowhere near the keeper. Temporary insanity, perhaps. It was a shocking error, and he has indeed made several of those this season, but despite that, I think he probably deserves his place in the team on recent form. Sadly, we have others that have contributed less to our cause.
  4. The really frustrating thing is that when you see teams like Derby, supposedly in great form and challengers for promotion, they are rubbish. It just hammers home how poor this division is, and the stats used to support Bruce are completely hollow given the standard of the teams we are playing.
  5. He either needs to be dropped into a deeper position or benched, he hasn't really shown his best form being the one supporting Davis.
  6. I thought he played some decent passes into the attacking third today. The problem with passing is you need someone to pass to.
  7. He saved us today, distribution needs to be better though. I'm not really a fan of the quick boot upfield that just gives the ball back to the opposition.
  8. Absolute dross, like so much of our recent 'promotion form'.
  9. Friedel used to be very weak on crosses in his earlier career, but he did indeed become very commanding. I think that is an area that keepers do often tend to improve on with experience.
  10. Only four teams have come away from Elland Road with less than a draw, and that four includes Burton and Blues.
  11. I thought he was very disappointing the first couple of months he was here, but he seems to have turned it round, he has been crucial in quite a few games recently. Not spraying passes around like I thought he might, but provides glue in midfield.
  12. Very poor tonight, but I do worry about the lack of athleticism in our midfield if he is dropped.
  13. I thought he was our motm tonight, a welcome return to form because I think his standards had dropped this season.
  14. He always reminds me of the guy in the tank from the lacto-free advert. Great goal.
  15. Looked like two poor teams. We did well to come away with a point after that performance, but I don't really take a lot of positives from tonight's game.
  16. I don't think Leeds will make the play-offs this year, so anything less than a point in this game will be a disappointment. I'm not expecting a classic though.
  17. I don't think he was poor, he works hard and generally his passing is tidy but safe. He isn't really an incisive passer, and when he had a couple of big chances to play people in he got it wrong, those moments perhaps stick in the mind more than the unspectacular graft that he does.
  18. Bruce loves it when a plan comes together.
  19. Dreadfully dull game in which we were less bad than Ipswich, who were very bad indeed and contributed significantly to both of our goals. We played better in the last 30 minutes, but Ipswich had long since given up.
  20. Got a bad feeling about this one, hopefully it is just wind.
  21. Got away with a shocking performance tonight, nice points though.

    Keinan Davis

I think you are doing Heskey something of a disservice there. All of the strikers that played with Heskey and speak so highly of him wouldn't have thrived off him so much if he didn't have that footballing intelligence. But yeah, I'm not sure that he is that Heskey-alike really, but if he fails to add goals to his game the comparison will persist.
  23. He played well today, but all of our midfield benefited from the amount of space QPR gave them.
  24. I have a feeling that this season we will stumble through to the playoffs and inevitably bring Samba on to play up front for the last five minutes of the second leg when we are chasing two goals before the season ends in oblivion.
  25. It wasn't the best game from Davis, not that I'm particularly blaming him, we didn't get decent ball into him, so he couldn't get turned and look for Hogan.
