  1. This is sadly the only way I see us winning.
  2. We created more by reveting back to Hoofball. Benteke looked dangerous and contributed a lot more to our attacking play than he has recently. Sweet overhead kick. He was unlucky not to score. Cleverly was decent. Delph had some nice touches and close control à la Gil. Except Benteke our players were getting bullied all over the pitch. Sanchez might have been the better option to Westwood. Bacuna and Gil should have been in the starting 11 aswell. What was Lowton doing at LB? Stupid challenges in dangerous areas. Most corners were shit again. At least this time Weimann didn't take one. N'zogbia and Weimann were shit. Referee was shit. Back to square one. We are going down.
  3. i an sick of Interviews starting with: "Gabby Agbonlahor, Mr. Aston Villa..."
  4. Weimann on for Gil that early? Weimann taking a corner?
  5. 3.75 hours until the first comments appear about how dire we are playing and how TS hasn't changed anything Football wise.
  6. That German TV Channels "ARD" and "ZDF" are reporting that the only reason Russia hasn't invaded the Baltic States yet is a NATO safety barrier. IMO that is Western Propaganda and complete BS. Oh wait....that should piss me off.
  7. Zackly - relegation means some footballers get to do footballing on some different bits of grass. Cry me a river. For me it means slightly more as the games will not be televised so I and many fans around the world will not be able to watch the matches anymore. Crappy streams are better than nothing. Oh and anyone suggesting I listen to Captain Jacks commentaries can kindly jog on.
  8. My boss. When she's around, no VT for me. (My favourite thread ever! Nothing better than a good moan!)
  9. It's difficult to withstand being negative if you get confronted with so much negativity each day. It kinda sticks.
  10. A bit like asking would people rather have uncontrollable vomiting or rampant diarrhea. The shits (speaking from experience) christ i forgot.with what your going through at the moment and having to put up with these performances as well.hang in there mate it'll get better someday, god knows when but it will(the villa i mean). Watching Villa and being stuck on the toilet in pain are strangely similar! Exept you don't get sh*t on when sitting on the toilet.
  11. 0-1 by a long way. Sad as it is to say, goal difference could well be important this season. Our goals for column is already irreparably ruined, so sorting out goal difference (currently the worst in the league) is now essential. We are not allowed to get to the point where we have to rely on goal difference.
  12. It sounds like keeping us in the league is some kind of achievement to be proud of!? He was supposed to get us going upwards.
  13. I don't think you can use this as an argument, there is zero evidence for it. There's zero evidence for the opposite then too. But the facts are that he as kept us in the league so far with the players that he has managed to sign. Maybe Mcleish, Curbishly and so on would have spotted the likes of Benteke, Westwood, Okore et al but it seems unlikely to me. Then what was the point of mentioning it? I originally said that it would be nice to get in another signing to help with results and to give the fans a bit more confidence one of the replies to this was that Lambert has had previous transfer windows to improve results, my reply to that was that he's used those windows to sign players that have kept us in the league, which I think is an achievment, one which if the season ended today would be repeated. My mentioning the idea of us signing the likes of Henry and DJ Campbell is just based on what I think would have happened if we handn't have got Lambert. Indeed before Mcleish left, there were newspaper articles linking us to both those players, not evidence, but then again most of the talk on here is based on speculation. And I'm just speculating that most of the other managers we could attract wouldn't have been able to spot the players that Lambert has. I disagree with the fact that other managers wouldn't have been able to spot similar talent but I have to respect your opinion. Lambert isnt the Superscout a lot of people think he is. I am aware that he was on a limited budget but he had a lot of misses aswell: Sylla, Tonev, Bennett, El Ahmadi, Bowery, Helenius, Dawkins, Holt, Cleverly, Lowton. No, other Managers probably wouldn't have spotted Okore, Benteke or Gil. The point is they were not the only unproven, talented Footballers out there. Another Manager could have spotted Berahino, Fernandinho or Pelle. Lots of fish in the ocean. Concerning links to unwanted players: Newspapers are Twatter of yesterday.
  14. Paul Lambert dartboard is the topseller I heard.
  15. If he hadn't have got in the players that he has, then we'd be relegated by now. With any other manager like Mcleish, Curbishly or a lot of the other alternative names, you'd now be watching Villa in the Championship with the likes of DJ Campbell and Karl Henry in the team.
  16. An you think this will change the tactics?? Cheer everyone up until we get spanked by Chelsea. Well obviously I realise that everyone won't stay cheered up forever, we're going to lose matches and people will react to that bad news when it happens accordingly. But if we can someone like Ba or similar in on loan then it might give people a bit more confidence that things can improve. He's been bringing in players every transfer window for 2 and a half years and we've done nothing but go backwards and get worse. I can't see much changing. If he hadn't have got in the players that he has, then we'd be relegated by now. With any other manager like Mcleish, Curbishly or a lot of the other alternative names, you'd now be watching Villa in the Championship with the likes of DJ Campbell and Karl Henry in the team. I could say the opposite (CL Spot, Falcao up front) and it wouldn't be less true.
  17. Sry mate, this is the Benteke thread. Go to the Ratings and Reactions thread if you want to hear bad things about the other lumps.
  18. I'll remember that next time someone comes into the thread telling people that want Lambert out that they are "intellectually limited", and that those supporting him have a better understanding of football or are capable of thinking things through further. please do. In fact, let's sit on this "bullying" thing once and for all. There have been strongly worded opinions and heated discussions on both sides, but the only posts that have been directly insulting (like the first phrase I mentioned above, the "limited intelligence" one) that I can remember have come from those supporting Lambert. Could it be that there is no bullying? Could it be that you're actually feeling increasingly under pressure at having to defend an opinion supported by a minority so small that you could barely see it under an electron microscope? Totally agree. If you don't agree with them, its a 'personal attack' or a 'personal swipe', They dont want to be challenged. Yet they attack people on here as quoted in your post. Sounds like Israel when dealing with Palestine. Sry off topic.
  19. You are absolutely spot on about the set pieces. I see Swiss 3rd division teams with nice freekick routines, short corners (that end up getting whipped into the box), effective throw ins etc. A friend of mine who plays for the local 1st team tells me all about the set-piece tactics they get from Spurs. If even amateur players can do it why can't we? No dummies followed by a short sideways pass (WE ARE ******* MASTERS AT THEM ANYWAY) with eventual shot an goal. No movement from our players along the line when we get a throw in. It makes me sick. Every Free kick is just taken directly or crossed in (mostly headed away by the 1st man anyway). WE ARE SO PREDICTABLE!!!
  20. Disagree. If you're going to press from the off, you want Richardson doing it rather than Cissokho as he has more pace about him. It made sense selection-wise, but he wasn't particularly good. Hell no! I know Richardson is my new scapegoat but honestly it's Cissokho > Richardson every day of the week, with whatever tactics against whoever.
  21. If all managers say in press conferences is BS and everybody knows its BS, why do they still do them? Everybody can see whats wrong but Lambert acts like he didn't watch the games. Honestly, I would love Paul to slate the team atm. What confidence is there to lose?
  22. So lazy. I would honestly prefer JBowz up front.
  23. My least favourite player. Absolutely despise his presence in the squad.
  24. True. Obviously Lambert is telling them all to play brilliantly and then the players are going out on the pitch and ignoring him and playing how they want rather than following their manager's instructions. Obviously Lambert is telling them all to play badly and then the players are going out on the pitch and doing exactly what they're told - pass the ball to the opposition, trip over the ball and lose your marker. Lambert is the person who decided to play a high line against a fast-breaking team. Lambert is the person who has dictated a high-possession style which concentrates on ball retention to the detriment of attacking play, pulling players out of position to ensure an easy pass and leaving huge gaps that are easily exploited by the opposition. If the players are playing badly it is Lambert's job to get them playing the way he wants them to. It is his job to dictate shape and formation, to give the players instructions on movement and to inspire them when they are feeling down. So go on, tell me again how today's performance is entirely down to the players and Lambert bears no responsibility at all. Ah, so football is like FIFA15, Lambert sat on the bench with his controller. Only normally he plays Pro Evo and he hasn't switched square and circle - and cheeky Arsene has put manual passing on. Also our Keeper was set on "Amateur".
