I'm still hoping Delph will stay. In spite of his bad form and injuries of late, he is still our best midfielder in my opinion. Letting him go for next to nothing this month or for free at the end of the season is unacceptable and would be another failure of the management. Even if his wage demands would be enourmous right now, he should have gotten an extension a year ago when he couldn't threaten the club with a Bosman.

He did ok when he first arrived but failed to confirm last season. I wouldn't write him off yet.

see what we can get for him this transfer window. If we can get 5m, I'd be happy.

McLeish had to play kids and didn't have 3 years to sign his own players. I can't believe I'm defending him, but this is even worse than what he served up true, and that's saying something about Mr. Lambert

What has he ever done besides have a brother who's very good at football? Last year he won the golden boot in the belgian league. That doesn't make him as good as Eden, but still counts for something.

I would love bolasie here, but he's not the same type of player as delph. Bolasie is the winger we've been missing.

The premier league is the most commercial and popular league. That's why it's easy to say it's the best, as part of the advertisement. It's difficult to say which league is the best. Looking only at the top teams you could say Spain is the best. Look at the bottom and you would get the same garbage in germany, Spain or england. The difference between these leagues, probably the 3 top leagues, is that in england the bottom teams have the funds to buy new players, which gets fans and media all excited. In germany the clubs are more sensible with their money, so bottom teams rarely spend more than 5m on a player. In Spain, the smaller clubs are close to bankrupcy so they have to sell players and attract others for free. So I don't think the premier league is the best when it comes to the level of football being played, but is the best in the sense that teams have the cash to significantly improve their team over a transfer period and a new season can realy be different to the previous.

Hutton had a good start to the season and has handleiding his bomb Squad Status very well the last 2 seasons, not sure if that's enough to deserve new contract though. If it's because of his good run the last few games, I would say albrighton deserved the same.

Apparently the fee would be higher than €10 million, so they're probably the only club willing to pay that much for him. It says a lot about a player when he goes for the money that early in his career. The level of football can't be much higher than in belgium.

I believe bruges rejected offers from Galatasaray and CSKA Moscow a few months ago. Those were offers around €10-11. Safe to say we would not be getting him cheap.

Would have prefered Albighton over Weimann. Cole can be switched for N'Zogbia, Weakness is Westwood, we need a stronger DM to break off attacks.

Check the details, Strinic is a left back, vrsaljko is a right back. so that would make it 5 defenders. Unless you want to claim we played with 3 defenders against Man City the other day? (pretty similar set-up/situation) But that is not the point. Lukaku playing against 3 centre backs and still scoring is even more impressive than scoring against 2 (if it was a 4 man defence), in no case it's 'offering him goals on a plate' My point still stands. Benteke was and is a a respected first team player in the Belgium squad, but he is not the key player you make him out to be. In a team with Hazard, Kompany and Witsel, that is no disgrace.
