Italy proved once again that tactics can beat skills. Belgium have the better players, but they didn't have a strategy and lacked ideas to change the game. Bringing on more offensive players is not a strategy, it's just rolling the dice.

Damn foreigners, there's always quite many of them at these international tournaments.

Boyata is out injured. Last game Vertonghen and Alderweireld played CB. Not a bad pair imo. Their full backs aren't as good though.

Made the trip to villa park from belgium. The idea was to see us play a premier league game for the last time in a while, but it was two championship sides without any ideas or plan. the atmosphere was amazing though. I was at the holte end and it was absolutely rocking. The beach balls were great fun as well. i noticed Westwood, clark, hutton and ayew came to greet the supporters straight after the game, not surprisingly the players who actually make an effort during games. Hope we keep them and get rid of the likes of bacuna, lescott and Sánchez.

decent win. If we're going down, I really hope we don't finish bottom. results didn't go our way today, sadly. But I still think/hope we can catch up to Norwich and Sunderland

Garde looked broken walking out

I didn't see the game, so no comment on it. but a draw keeps our momentum going. We have a few winnable games coming up so this is an advantage. Seems like we found our starting eleven and the new players are starting to gel. All positives on the other hand, a point gets us nowhere. Newcastle winning is bad for us. I think the current bottom three are the ones going down. Norwich, bournemouth and maybe the baggies could get sucked in.

Baker, Nzogbia, El Ahmadi, bannan to name a few recent ones. and that's not mentioning Lowton, albrighton, weimann or hutton who I liked for some reason, but could be considered worse

well with injuries for Grealish, Gabby, Adama, Amavi, Hutton, Sanchez,... you can expect a few crappy players on the bench

our defence looked solid for once. Bunn didn't have to do much big cheers for Kozak, he worked hard and shouldn't be dropped/sold/loaned Let's hope they can all produce this kind of performance again agains Leicester.

Kozak already looks more mobile than gestede

our problem is up front yet again. our defenders haven't been troubled that much, a deflected ball is unlucky, though that's what you get when you are at the bottom. midfield is dominating possession as well, with a very industrious veretout and Gana. Attack, Gestede is just not the most talented player out there, but he is surrounded by Gil and Grealish who are. And they're playing awful.

I don't think it's Garde's fault. He was just not the right coach at this point. No clue why the board decided to take him on board.

Norwich and Bournemouth getting results again... No pressure lads

I read about Depoitre a few pages back. No clue why we're after this guy. He would cost us £10m at least and would offer us nothing Austin couldn't do (who we could get for about £6m). He's played in the Champions League, but tha's about it. His price is probably up because he's belgian. if we could get Austin (£6m), Cole (free) and Sirigu (loan - he'll want to play in to get to the Euros), that would improve us a lot, though I'm not sure how Cole's level is at this point. Add a no-nonsense midfielder type-Barton and we would have a squad that should be picking up points. Also, when Richards is fit again, I'd play him on RB. Hutton can't be faulted for effort, but he's making costly mistakes far too often. Bacuna could be an alternative if we have an option at left back that is not Richardson.
