This is why I'm taking the long view on our stay in the championship. I would love to see a Villa first 11 with RHM, Davis, Grealish, COH - that can only happen if we don't get promoted so in some ways it's gonna soften the blow.

It's gonna be a loan or two in/out, and maybe one or two sold - but no major changes due to FFP. Realistically I can't see how we'd generate funds - unless Sunderland come back in for Mcoremack now realising that they will get relegated AGAIN unless they do something. That could free up a few mill....

Would be delighted to see him back fit and getting a chance, we will need our young 'uns if in this league next season.

We'd need to cut our cloth, granted - but it's not end of days, we could probably flog Kodjia, Hogan and Mcoremack, lose the wages of Gabby and Hutton, use COH or Grealish instead of Snodgrass etc etc - we don't need a whole new team, nor would that be cost effective. In other words the possibility of the owner sticking with tried and tested is a possibility.

But if we finished 3rd and were unlucky in the play off final, I think the board would have a difficult decision. If finances allowed us to keep the nucleus of the team then I would have thought our best shot would be with bruce.

If we get to the play-offs but end up back in this league, I can see Bruce staying on.

It's really competitve this league, I know December is tough but we can't afford to lose any ground on cardiff so we will have to do better than just get through it.

It's a big squad with competition for places - that Adomah gets his chance and takes it admirably can somehow be used to bash the manager - after 3 straight wins - just smacks of a grudge against the manager. Time to look forward, not back.

Good test yesterday, Ipswich were on the same points as us at 16 games played - the very definition of beating those teams around you. Leeds will be hard but again, they are at the same level as Ipswich and not to be feared.

One of a few players bringing quality to this first 11, does not belong in championship and shines for that reason.

How do you get a blue background for your posts? Also, I think I just saw a lower premier league team play a mid-table championship team. The likes of snodgrass, adomah, chester, whelan, taylor etc - all good enough for 13th place in the prem.

There was a serious confidence there tonight, Ispwich felt it, we knew it, Adomah made it. Bruce 110% deserves credit for the journey we have gone on from his first day to this day.
