  1. Let's pray that it is a tactic of putting him in the window for Jan.
  2. Well let us apply some Bruce logic here - MON finished 6th repeatedly, with a huge budget. Would not want him back here, even in place of Bruce.

    U.S. Politics

I think Donald Trump and 'Fake News' is the best thing to have happened to the US. This is a public who needed to be woken up, I mean the majority of white women voted Trump in, when it is clear to any sensible person that Trump is an enemy of women. Poor people voted him in, when he is an enemy of poor people. Half of this country is officially stupid. But now they have a chance to put it right, I am sure the sensible half will take it.

  5. The bigger the sample size the more accurate. Also we've played 16 games, this sample is 80% of the season so far.
  6. I think mostly it's poor distribution. There were a few moments yesterday when Whelan and Hutton were knocking it back and forth to each other wanting the other to move it forwards, my heart sank. Jedi may be needed at CB so we'll be stuck with Whelan a bit longer. Hopefully Grealish or COH can play more and try to collect the ball from him.
  7. Not sure we need another CB, Terry will be about ready to return late Jan. Would deffo offload Hogan and whoever else that hasn't featured at all though obviously that would generate pennies. We could definitely benefit from at least one decent experienced striker in place of Hogan and Mcormack.
  8. As @Eastie says, current form (the last 13 games) has us on that 2 point per game target. The past 2 seasons 90 points would get you there or thereabouts for automatic promotion so we not only need to maintain our form but also find another gear as our form would only get us in the high 80s. Now, more than ever it really is down to Bruce to reconfigure us a wee bit, to compensate for the loss of Terry, we will without doubt concede more without him. The season will be won or lost in the next 6 games IMHO, play-offs could very well be our destiny.
  9. Fully agree. We have shown enough this season that for once we can look at the other side in a defeat like this rather than always at what we did or didn't do. That said, even without the early goal and terry going off a point would have been a good result as they were very organised and worked very very hard. I think this will get a reaction, and we won't let our guard down next time.
  10. Just doesn't suit us, he could but not under Bruce. Can deffo see him leaving in Jan for 4 mill.
  11. Too many trademark aimless high balls lobbed forwards and slightly diagonal but ultimately turfing possession back. I would hope Taylor can come back now.
  12. Also Terry out, Grealish in, possibly we’ll be more about attack now.

Massive blow, no two ways about it. But we are not going to win promotion based on one player. We will see a different villa now and we need luck.
  14. Massive chance today. But we need to take our medicine. Combination of early wonder goal and possibly overconfidence at home. As much as I would love a comprehensive run to the title, this result has the hallmarks of a rollercoaster journey. Terry is basically out now so we need to dig deep, it will be the hard way but it is possible.
  15. 3 points today and we could be 2 points off automatic promotion.
  16. I felt before yesterday's game that the performance would be a sign of how far we can expect to go this season, as we are well into the season now and this team should know each other by now. The result was up there, I know Preston had a dodgy defence but they are supposedly a bit potent upfront so not only did we nullify them, we were also clinical and it could have been 4, away from home at a team with similar points. Also got a sneaky feeling Grealish will have a major impact, will have a few sub appearances but he will be playing in a settled team for the first time ever and will have a proper chance to show what he's got. And that's strength in depth, not many others will have our options.
  17. Chester and JT are as good a CB pairing we've had in modern times and that was in the prem.

What I liked lately about JT is the post match interview - at SHA and Preston, two different games and results but the same assured and calm demeanour from JT, yet still an air of determination in there - the guy oozes leadership.
  19. Hutton only looks good because nobody in the last 4 games have punished his positioning. Taylor please.
  20. Next 4 games are doable, especially if we play like that.
