I had no grudge in you choosing Boro over us as you have served us well in the past.     Not sure most fans can afford it though. Let's say if it wasn't at London, it was to be held in Berlin, not sure how I can afford it if Villa makes it all the way to the champions league final in 3 years time. But i agree one off knock out is more entertaining than the 2 legs

    Ruud Gullit to Chelsea in the time when no one knows who they are outside of England. I think that actually started the big revolution at Chelsea, being able to attract the bigger names in football. Sometimes I wonder whether this is a strategy that would work now at Villa - buying 30+ well known names who still have the engine left to run, but certainly attract other big profiles. I know the money now a days are different

    It might have been paper talks in the 90s, but I remember one summer we were heavily linked with Paul Gascoigne, think he was at the football graveyard up north back then. I was buying the mirror on the daily basis just to read how this was all developing. Those lazy A levels days

    So am I right it is only the two manchester team who are missing the first week and hence us and burnley will also have to miss? If so, why can't the PL just swap round those fixtures, ie we play Burnley on first day, those two Manchester teams could play once they are happy to do so whenever that its. This should be a problem for them to deal with, not us nor Burnley.

    With all the talks of him being a manager to a championship team, now with Lampard's Chelsea being finished for the season, i wonder if there will be any temptation of them trying to get JT as part of their backroom staff, especially all the talks of getting their defence sorted (obviously no one knows whether JT was responsible for our defence this season)

    Disappointing from the Brentford front 3. On another note, Fulham is well drilled playing like a proper side and Scott Parker deserves some credit for this. He has the feel of a future England manager in him, may be its just the suits.
