  1. He is guilty, though, not because of your preamble or the Most of us have also been the victim of some sort of sexual assault but because the court (and the jury) judged him so. My point wasn't that this made him guilty, my point was that the idea that women who think 'ooh, I wish I hadn't slept with that bloke, I'll go and report him for rape.' are not commonplace. I
  2. I don't, there have been too many miscarriages of justice to trust it. No system is ever 100% fullproof Not it when it comes to rape - let's look at the stats for a second - the convictions for rape are minuscule, I think it's something like 1 in ten for prosecuted cases if that. The evidence has to be pretty overwhelming to get a conviction. Just to be clear if your mate takes someone home, you can't join in unless both of them invite you - not have a pop at an almost passed out girl on the bed. That is rape, it's not the same as getting pissed with someone down the pub, going home with them and having a drunken roll around, which you probably both regret in the morning. Secondly can I just put paid to this myth of women crying rape because they 'regret' spending the night with somebody. I and most of my friends have all had silly one night stands where we thought jeez what was I thinking, but it was consensual. Most of us have also been the victim of some sort of sexual assault. From a quick grope on a train to a full blown assault. How many got reported to the police? 1. Why? Because reporting sexual assault to the police is an ordeal in itself, and most women just want to get on with their lives. And if the apologists for Evans knew more women a little better, you would be horrified at how prevalent it is and how rarely it gets reported. Is is he guilty, yes. Does he think he is, no of course not, prison is full of innocent men.
  3. For me Ithink he has to go. First off if your set up is confused and the players can't understand it, at the very least you can't blame them for it. You saw it for Stoke'soal - that error came from a communication error from a back line which has suddenly been fiddled with and a new player slotted in (is Clark injured btw?) If you repeatedly blame the players in this scenario you lose the dressing room, plain and simple. I'm sure a fair few of the squad are a bit pissed off. Secondly I always get the sense he's trying to play last week's game again, rather than adapting to different opposition. Wingback a away against the bin dippers - maybe worth a go - at home against Stoke? No Thirdly - endless chopping and changing on the pitch isn't going to work - especially not with so many new faces. it's like he's desperate to shake off the 4,4 2 tag he had at the beginning of his tenure here. Anyway, I don't have anything against the bloke, but he's obviously out of his depth, from the way he lacks foresight when dealing with the media to the formations on the pitch - he needs to learn to manage first and the AV job is not the place for that
  4. I do think Ade and Lescott will make a big difference. Gestede is poor with the ball at his feet (weren't like 20 of his goals from last season headers) definitely played better in second half but is for 4,4,2 only imo. Definitely need an experienced pl striker. But how many are out there, available, affordable and any good?
  5. I thought this might be the case too particularly given his own family is by sh1t crazy he probably want as much stability as possible. Also why he may have started by angling for a guarantee of a deal. You'd uproot your family for 5 years but 12 months? It's not like he needs the money
  6. She repos has said it s a bit too early for veretout and gestede, which is a bit disappointing but not unexpected - hopefully they'll be on the bench
  7. Of course Sherwood was going to try and put him off joining the bin dippers. And he really should give him a bit more credit for getting scoring opportunities with Tim. Injuries weren't the problem at the end of Lambert's tenure it was the fact he was completely isolated up front, not getting the service and, if I remember, far to quick to lambast his team mates if things didn't go his way. These comments make him look a bit of a clearing in the woods tbh.
  8. There s a good chance he'll have a basic understanding of French at least as well as Spanish as he'll speak Catalan which is a mash up of the two.
  9. Ok So this is what I heard re Senderos, it's second hand but if the source is correct it's straight from the dressing room. Basically Senderos has been deemed fit by the physics since half way through last year but has been ruling himself out saying he's still not right to return. It's apparently pissing a lot of people off, anyway if true you could see why Sherwood would be less than impressed. But take it with a big pinch of salt.
  10. If we hadn't signed gestede I think we'd be in a much worse position at the negotiating table. As it is we have 5 strikers, could do with ade but it won't be the end of the world if we don't get him, hopefully this will force Levy's hand. Was talking to a spuds fan about who he'd pick over ade and berba. He said ade's main problem was focus, berba - motivation, but if he had to have one it would be the Bulgarian.
  11. Aston villa live on Facebook have the goals up. Sinclair s third was niiiccce!

  13. I have a feeling Sanchez will be immense for us this season. Just a hunch.
  14. As a Pom based in Oz, this is a much better idea than making these teams 'play' against a-league teams.
  15. Delph off injured against Real Madrid :-) Man City losing
  16. The French sites reporting 17million euros are quoting Sky's 12 million quid as their source!?!? *sigh* the Internet!
  17. I'm warming to this if it's a loan deal only. Remember we forced Bent into the bomb squad and he went to Derby and started banging them in.
  18. Ooh yeah like Sunday league football where you stick your worst player up front so they can't f*£* anything up Ooh yeah like Sunday league football where you stick your worst player up front so they can't f*£* anything up
  19. Ooh if they were in Sydney I might. I wouldn't say anything - just take my villa shirt up to the table. Actually no one would have one here, I don't think but it would be good to see someone take a kid's size version of the new shirt, with Delph on the back and get him to sign that. 20. I'm actually not that bothered now - it's dragged on for so long, and he was only ever here as a stepping stone. We're losing a brilliant player but I have no emotional investment. When Milner went I was gutted, it was like seeing your ex with someone else. Christian? More like a super hot booty call that's moving overseas. Thanks for the goals and good luck.
  21. Yeah from the comments Sherwood and Wilkins have made they pretty unimpressed with the off field antics, so wouldn't be surprised to see him on the subs bench for a while.
  22. Delph and MCFC have really dropped him in it tbh. Of course he's going to give his honest opinion to another player. While I'm sure he's really excited to be here, that doesn't undo the years he spent at City. Presumably he didn't think Delph would make his comments public, another d*** move fibian. Plus this is Delph's version of what was said in his city presser - paraphrased, second hand and out of context. God knows what he actually said
  23. With CB 'my dream is to play for Arsenal' you knew what you were getting from day one. We've made a decent profit and he's kept us up so I have no issues with him leaving
  24. The staying at home because of his pregnant wife was also nonsense, according to MC site he's flying out to Australia over the weekend! Nice! If they were playing in Sydney I would actually go to the game, just to boo him
